| Typically, Video Cards are a major chunk in your computer. You see, with the events you have, it's needed to have a great CPU and Ram. However, in the event of Gamers, like Valhalla and I, Video Cards are everything.
My laptop has the specs to beable to sucessfully play PS2/boarderline PS3 games, but because of the intergrated 128mb intel video card, it's sub par, and has trouble with higher end PS1 emulators. I can't even play DreamCast emulators due to the lack of efficent GPU (graphics processing unit) power. Good god, my Computer Service Technician class is starting to wear off on me x.x |

| When it comes to issues like having only 3.5gigs of ram, it's probably due to the fact that's the highest your mobo can support at the time. So I wouldn't really worry about the idea of buying more then that. Currently, if your laptop has dual core or higher, your processor will be as good as it will get unless you just buy a beast of a meachine like what alienware can provide. For you, and like my own issue, I would suggest an Nvidia video card when it comes to games. Only go the ATI route if you want that processing power to keep your computer for slowdown with business programs (aka spreadsheets).
Slowdown with your laptop now, if it's just a general thing, and not involving gaming, is either because your virtual ram may be too high. What happens is, when you have more then enough ram, but your processor can't support the mutlitaskign fo what your overloading it with, it resorts to using Virtual Memory, that's when your harddrive becoems a temporary ram stick at the cost of space (nowhere near as fast, since it's a secondary storage, actual ram is primary, meaning the processor goes straight to ram, but needs to be filtered when it uses the harddrive). This can cause some serious issues with your computer. Right click My Computer, go to properties, go to the advanced tab, and click on the Change button under performance. Under there is the button for change/customize for yoru Virtual Ram setting. In that window, disable "Let Windows handle the setting" and enter in a manual number of what it recommends (Which is times and a half what your ram is) for both the Minimum and Maximum. If your Virtual Ram really is the issue as to why your computer is slowing down, then yoru risking what is called Disk Thrashing. When your computer is given a task that is too much to take, and resort to VM, then theres too much data being taken out, stored, and pulled back out. This can cause random computer resets, and ultimatly, could damage your harddrive. Take a look and try the settings, then post back with a quality update. |

| Leviathan, while I can fully understand your point of view, I'm going to have to disagree with it. If it were true that you would be giving thoes children a quick way out of a stupid world, I just can't see it.
My biggest issue is how you're saying it's the parents fault for the child's stupidity. My parents are farthest from the smartest peopel out there. My mother is a hardcore christian, and my father likes nothing that dosn't involve money. In logical sense, that would make me a money grubbing christian who hates all who have a diffrent view then me. (Call me a jew, and I'll get pissed. Not the time or place.) I was given a home by them, yes, food by them, yes, a place to sleep by them, yes, but I taught myself my own values, my own way of living. I have no religion, I hate money with a passion. I have an entirely different view point on life then most people, one that someone else couldn't have taught me. Yet by doing thing, I grew into the person I am now. Not by my parents, but by watching what my friends went through: what they did, how they were treated. I followed what I believe to this day, to be my integrity. (Integrity: Doing what you feel is right) Thoes who end up going "Sup, Yo, G dawg!" were not (mostly) taught that by their parents. That was taught to them by the individuals around them. They thought it was an amazing concept, and gave them a peice of individuality. While I dont' agree with it, since I have my own, I have seen thoes "Gangster wanna-be's" be some of the most intelligent people I've ever run accrossed. Even if I do want to strangle them every time they speak. Quite a bit of text for a floating thought, wasn't it? Hah. |

| Kaijin sat on the minor stairway that lead up to the short distance from the throne room. He looked around the large room, a smile upon his face. Soon, he humoured himself, the people in the area will be in this realm. Upon nightfall, he shall see the souls of all whom his human counterpart interacted with... All it took was nightfall when they slumbered.
"Hmm.. I wonder how many of them will acctually remember their meeting with me down here." He chuckled to noone in perticular. War was on the brink, and he was curious as to how this will turn out. The Underworld. The place where the soul resides when the human mind wasn't in tune to it. Hell, even if they were. A place where magic, spells, and swords ran wild, and is limited to just the person's mental will power. Definently nothing like Earth. |

| Quick paces through the busy streets of the well light day filled his ears as Kaijin glanced from old market to old vendor. He chuckled to himself, greatly humored at the aspect of the event that will soon happen. (Yes, daytime in the underworld, not Earth.)
Glancing about the filled streets of the old kingdom, feeling at home as he watched the knights walk with swords and shields, arcers at the massive walls surrounding the capital, buildings surrounding the massive castle at the end. Truely, it was a sight to see, one that could leave any king speechless at the magnificant sight and beauty of the old buildings. "I wonder" he humored "just what they'll remember after tonight. Mayhaps tiz all a dream they conjure. If not, thy memories will be puzzled, cloudy. Moreafter, tiz all too knowing to be confused from a normal human life, to see such grand, yet structures of old to be around." A grin covered his vampiric face as he looked up twoard the sun. "My word, thy exiting lives of odd fill my mind such that my old tounge is filling mouth of new." He burst out in a laugh, with a few peopel looking at the dark figure of intimidation, puzzled, but ignored him. "I'll have to remember to speak like they do... When they arrive. Now the question is, whom will appear. The Soul, or the Human. Either way, the form of the soul will be here shortly... After thy slumber grips tightly..." |

| His attention snapped to the side as he looked over a shoulder, through the croud. He figured it would happen, but still he felt his nerves hit him as he was overwhelmed with joy, for things were starting to stettle into place.
Turning on spot, with a free flowing grace, and airless wind flowing his trench behind him as he marched forth in the direction he was walking. Quickly, he glanced about, getting a feel for the spark that hit him: He felt their appearence. "Finally" He spoke softly as he approached the girl whom was lost. He peircing gaze shot to the back of her head as he stood a few feet away, not wanting to completely startle the girl. Of course, he figured it would be easier to settle the most nervous, and work his way back up. "Feel free to turn around, and absorb your surroundings, Katie." | The anger, and calmness that routed this girl's emotions was more then humorus to Kaijin, as he let out a soft chuckle. He couldn't be angry at the threat, just means the boy finally could find some friends.
"Well now, death threats, and I just met you. I've achieved a new record, I'd dare say." He swayed his left arm behind him, as he bowed forward, letting his trench flow behind him. "Tiz alright, child of light." He chuckled, his old accent slipping. "Mine is refered to as Kaijin. I am the soul of your friend, so please, even with my darkening demeaner may seem, I am of no threat... Not to you, atleast." He grined. This was just too much fun for him right now. "Welcome to the world that is within worlds. The land that all seek, even yet they do not know they do. The life that all wish to know the answers to; that one spark that gives hope to something more. In your world, and here, this place is called: The Underworld." He moved about Katie with daunting speed of grace and skill, now behind her. "You have many questions, I have many answers. However, to answer question one that floats and lingers within the depts of your mind, this is no dream. And to proove so, I shall tell you a word later that you may wait patiently for tomarrow, and if you hear it, you'll know it's no dream." Slowly pacing away from her, twoard the towering building of art and intimidation, he ventured on. "You may wish to follow." |

He was so humoured by the turn of events, that he had no real way of speaking, even if he wanted to. So much, yet so little... Regardless: He turned about, nearing where he was intending, but the street was plenty enough, since the crowd he was hoping for had arrived anyway. "Now then, my dear friends, I'm sure you all are familiar with atleast one or two aspects of thy surroundings now." His grin couldn't fall. "I'm sure you all have countless questions, and yes, I intend to answer them when I can. Just don't expect everything all at once. Little one" he looked over at the Bat Girl "do as you see fit. | 1.5 gig of ram would be suffice when it comes to that type of gaming. In the retrospec, you probably should have gone with the counterpart NVidea Video Card. The ATI side is awesome and great for power business operations (I use to use ATI for gaming, an dit hurt me every step of the way). NVidia cards arn't that great for business, but are fine tuned specificly for gaming.
In otherwords, an Nvidia card at 128mb would probably net you the same results as an ATI at 512MB. (Blows dick, I know, but I've seen it happen) |
