| Okay, here's the deal. I think there should be an anonymous post option. I think it would be very useful, especially in Sunset Waterfall, just because I think there are some subjects that people may be too sensitive to talk about.
Of course, there are flaws. People would definitely abuse it. It would be nice if we could just trust people to use it correctly, but I doubt we could. I have some ideas of how to prevent abuse. It could only work in Sunset. I was thinking that maybe Admins could be able to see who it is, not by default, but if they misused it, they could go and check somehow. But I think that kinda ruins the integrity of the whole idea, no offense. But maybe we could try it out somehow... |

Actually, there is a simple way to keep the security of posting while protecting the name of the user. I would go about doing this by having the board replace the usernames of all posters in the Sunset Waterfall with stars (*****) and not displaying any personal data and no post headers/footers. Also, if you post there, the last post in your profile would say "private" or something. If X or Victim of Fate would like, I can work on the idea and send them the code....  I do like the idea! |

| I have to agree with Elara, it would be really difficult to catch the people who would just screw around on there using the feature to get us where we can't reach them. And in that case, having moderators for sunset would be futile.
If there was a way to "hide" the name of a poster in a thread etc. and allow moderators of that forum as well as admins veiw the name by somehow "unhiding" it. Other than that, I can't think of any way this would work. Also for this to be totally anonymous, Custom Titles, Ranks, post counts, and Layouts would all have to be hidden as well. So I'm not sure how this would work. |
