| By straight-edge, I mean a person who does absolutely NOTHING when it comes to smoking, drinking, drugs, or sex.
Urban Dictionary's highest rated and most accepted definition: Originated from the punkrock/hardcore scene. The philosophy/life-choice that humans should have strength, pride, dignity, honor, and self respect; that they shouldn't engage in activities that are a disgrace to their minds and bodies. (such as ingesting and/or becoming addicted to harmful substances for fun, lying and/or being two-faced, and sharing your body sexually with another person when there isn't even a true emotional bond there) Though I haven't done any sort of drugs (outside of caffeine via soda, tea, and coffee), I don't count as straight-edge because I drink occasionally and smoke once in a blue moon (not at all enough to be considered a smoker or a drinker, really) and I'm no virgin. | I've never smoked before, never plan on doing so in the future.
I've never had alcohol. Drugs, besides perscribed medication which I don't abuse nothing else. Sex, virgin. I guess you could call me straight-edge despite that all the music I listen to has subjects that pertain to those four items (classic rock). |

| I guess I could count as one. I've never smoked and don't plan on it, since I've grown up around it and just have never liked it. I have yet to find myself actually drunk, I just don't see much of a point in it but who knows where life could go in the next few years. And I still have the V-Card.
There is probably one thing that might eliminate me being a 'straight-edge', but I don't know. So yeah, I'm awesome?

| Well, beyond the sex part, I'd say that I am. I don't care for suicide-sticks, nor not remembering what I've been up to (Dealt with that enough without drugs or alcohol)
And as far as the sex thing goes, I'm fairly sure it mostly means you don't sleep with someone new every weekend (a bit of an extreme example but I hope you get the idea) So I don't think having sex occasionally with just one partner would disqualify you. Having had as many partners as you've been sexually active in years though, would for the most part disqualify you (I'm going to assume anyone who has, isn't relatively new to the whole sex thing) |

| Hmmm...I dunno...I think I would have been classified as "nun-like" rather than straight-edge. There used to be so much that I was extremely against. One thing I will NEVER do, however, is smoke. It would just be really retarded on my part. I'm not so allergic to cigarretts that should someone even open the box and I'm already going into attacks, but I do break out and go into asthma attacks if I'm in a car, someone is smoking and no one rolls down windows, or I'm in a room and more than two people are smoking. So yeah...wouldn't smoke. Not breathing isn't fun.
Drugs, well, I don't even take too much medicine for the matter (I only take it when I really need it...therefore, as a result, I require much smaller doses than the usual for my age and size, and they work much faster and last much longer for me.) and other illegal drugs...never tried them and I never will. I'm very fortunate in that respect, I guess. Drinking and sex...well...my thoughts are altering ever-so-slightly. |
