Yep, you can dual-boot Windows and Linux, so you could probably be able to dual-boot Macs, too.

Anyway, I would say get Windows. To be honest, I basically have no experience with Mac or Linux, unless you count using a really old Mac computer.

The older Macs are much different from the newer ones. The whole interface is entirely different. OS X is barely like anything before it. Kinda like how Windows XP was a big step from the previous versions(in my eyes at least). The OS can change everything.

I'm still going with my whole get a Intel Mac and running both OS X and Windows on it. Or better yet, get a really powerful computer, PC or Mac, and then download Virtual PC so you can run any OS on it.

Another thing, you rarely replace a part of a computer because it's so expensive. You're better just buying a new computer for no matter what OS. You can replace any part in any computer(I believe, not too sure about the mother board). It just costs so much, why not just buy a new computer?

Okay I was just telling Noah(FX) the other day that you can just run dual operating systems on his mac so he can Play his PC games and his Mac Games.

But that post the comment you made just made me want to stab you.

Okay No that is not true. Most PC's now adays you can just upgrade the RAM and the Processor and the Graphics card. As there has yet to be a PCI-E card the pushes the Limits of PCI-E's bus. Now I do believe that there are a few AGP cards that are pushing it like the 7900 GS(I believe that is the model). But you can game just as effectively as anyone else WITHOUT BUYING A NEW PC. Hell since my old PC got raped by my father I threw this one together for around $500 and that was about two years ago. I now have a P4 2.4EE in it and a gig of RAM and my 9600 SE which will be upgraded soon as I am getting either and X800 SE or something Comparable.

That is entirely untrue, my computer is "living" proof of that. I'll be sitting here doing something, and it will just shut down. I mean, usually it's a specific problem, like my video card coming loose from the AGP slot or something. A good amount of the time though, My friends and I can't figure out what the hell the problem is, the problems usually fix themselves anyway though. Currently I have this weird issue where if I plug either of my optical drives into the motherboard, it always gets a boot disc error.

Oh, and about Macs, I believe that Apple is now offering Mac Upgrade Kits.

Still, to buy all the upgrades, have the old parts fixed, etc. on a dead computer would cost near $500+. You're better off paying an extra $200 so you can get a new system that won't have problems, and could possibly be more powerful.

But did you computer just one day suddenly decide not to work at all? Like it wouldn't even load up? I can understand if it shuts down after a while because the computer could be old and weak and may just decide "BED TIME". That's understandable. But it just deciding not to work one day? That doesn't make sense.

If you're supporting PCs, and are having computer problem like that, it doesn't really help your point. I have a 7 year old G3 that doesn't even crash. And by 7 years old, I mean that we got a used one 5 years ago, so it's probably more like 7. I'm not exactly sure of the years, but I know it's pretty damn old, and that I've been using it since Elementary School.

No, Xeo, computers aren't perfect, but they can be pretty damn good.

I started out with my first computer... A PC... That sucked. Then I got a Mac. That was much better then the PC we had so I started liking macs. Now I have a PC, PC laptop and a Mac.
I like the PC the best. Mac has advantagies(sp?), Less viruses, mic, some have built in camera.

I like having all three

I personally believe that Windows is probably the best way to go. Hell, if you want to, you can download all of the Mac programs and the things they need to run it. (I had a freind who once converted his Dell almost entirely to a mac.)

And anyway, with a windows computer, you can use specific fuctions to shut down everything you don't want. Ideally, Internet Explorer. IE has so many viruses and cracks in it, it's not even funny. Windows computers are also more solidly built, and even though Mac is throwing out those new commercials talking about how great they are, they really are not. They have less viruses because less people have macs, and less people hunt down mac users as they are not the majority. That's the main reason. So, in conclusion, Windows is probably a better bet, just for the compatability and the fact that it's easier to find good working programs for Microsoft that will kill the things that want to hurt you.

Plus Windows comps are sexy.

Changing a Dell into a Mac is quite common these days.

There are specific functions to shut down programs in Macs, too. There are at least 3 ways to shut down every program on a Mac.

Macs have less viruses because they are more securely made. You can make a virus for Mac, but it is really hard to because there are so few, if any, holes in the coding.

With Macs you won't need to kill the things that want to hurt you because they don't exist on Mac.

As to that last saying, and to solve all the disagreeing, I have found the solution.

Windows is kinda sexy, but it looks better on Mac. Now you can have the Windows environment on your Mac, so it's all good.

Well I got a Windows computer in the end (It arrived yesterday after school! ^___^) and it kicks ass. And for everything I want to do it's fine. So meh!
