Merh...Saw a preview for this already...it looks ehh...I dunno. Prolly one of them movies I could wait until its out on DVD, or if I saw it in theaters, would mostlikely be someone else's treat. What? Yes, people take me to movies.

Jack Black is one of my idols, but lately his humour has been beaten down into being socially acceptable (Nickolodean and MTV, I'm coming for you) but now, in his natural element of Tenacious D, he can return to full muster.
This will be an amazing movie. And if any of you say otherwise, I will tackle you. And Kate? You're coming with me and Chris to go see it. |

Well this definately looks like a movie I'll be going to see.
Tenacious D are awesome, and probably one of the only rock groups I like. A movie of it? Absolutely kickassly the bestest, grammaphoniest thing ever made! |

Saw this yesterday in place of Thanksgiving.
I liked it a lot, but there were parts that could have been better. It's hard to put a finger on it, but it just seemed like it needed more here and there. While I'm not one that likes to tag buddy pics "gay," it feels like they really poured that on in this one on purpose. It was really sweet though how they made their friendship seem. I'm amazed they didn't find some reason to throw in "Fuck Her Gently," but really where could they have fit it. And yes, cock push-ups make an appearance. Hahaha. Uhhh, I already saw it John-man. But hey, it's kickass enough to see again. I love it, comedic gold! Besides I brought the GF so I wasn't paying attention to the movie at some parts...

So I guess you already know that the final song is a tribute to their song "Tribute" (also called "The Greatest Song in the World"), right, xRedx?
I might have to see it again to more fully appreciate the songs that were thrown in that I didn't see coming. Meat Loaf's appearance for example. (Last edited by Rogue on 11-27-06 02:14 AM) |

"They've come to cum in your ear pussies."
Priceless. Reminded me of that recent episode of Family Guy where the growing trend at Meg's school was ear sex. "Once you go black, you go deaf." Ha! |

Indeed we shall, and uhhh, I'm pretty sure they "blew Conan's Mind"
and "Beezleboss" Is the song for the battle they had against the demon which they wrote about in "Tribute" The last song on the Album is "The Metal" and before that is "POD" then before that is the last song in the actual movie which is "Beezleboss." |

I'm in agreement with Rogue on this. I thought it had some amazing moments, but it definitely could've been a lot better sometimes.
That and it was also one of those movies where you basically saw the entire plot through the commercials, and knew what to expect. |

BUMP!!
Sure this belongs in Video Hut, but if you're into either the movie or the band, this video seems to make the experience better. Sure, the mouthing doesn't quite match, but it really wasn't supposed to in the first place it seems. Flying Dutchman as the devil. Ha. |

I saw the Pick of destiny and thought it was an excellent movie. Hell when I saw it I was hoping there was going to be an albulm release for it.
Thank God there was. (Meh, movie and albulm cover are the same ) Favorite songs on there are Kickapoo and Beelzeboss. |

I still think their first album is slightly better, but this one had its moments.
Kickapoo was definitely lawls. |

Originally posted by Katana I busted up when they did the "You're gonna gargle Mayonnaise" and there's a picture of a jar and Patrick, looking perfectly shocking and with the mouthing spot on says, "No!" A lot of it really got me on the floor with this one, especially when he's gesturing at his crotch talking about his "horn" being blown off. Really, saying the Pick of Destiny is an inferior album compared with the first one is like taking the soundtrack from Walk the Line and saying it's inferior Johnny Cash. While the self-titled album obviously tops the soundtrack, it's just that--a soundtrack. And even still the movie's just a jumbled up version of their HBO show. But still Beelzeboss fuckin' rocks it at 11. |
