Basically the thing everybody else said; I can't stand the smell. Both my Mom and my step-dad have smoked my entire life. Although currently, my Mom has quit, but she's quit like four times now, so I'm not sure how long it'll last. |

| No, and never will because I see it as an absolute waste of time on my part. And the biggest reason is money, I'd love to see charts showing how much some people spend on them yearly.
But, it doesn't phase me at all. I've grown up around it, its always been around me. Everyone at my work smokes constantly except for me (and remember we work outside practically, so they can smoke often). But I'm quite sure I've taken some lung damage myself being around it so much in my life, second hand smoking. But yeah, my biggest reason is that I see it as a huge financial waste. |

| Nah, I don't smoke. Probably never will. I hate the smell and the smoke, it irritates me too no end. Then there's the health risks and the way it drains your pockets.
Plus, I just have no urge to. I just don't feel like doing it. Same with drinking, at the moment anyway. |

| I vaguely remember this thread from a while back.
Here's a little word of wisdom for all you smokers out there - only some people look cool when they're smoking. Namely old gentlemen, spies, and movie stars. As for anyone else, you probably look dumb. Especially if you're under the age of 18. My brother, sister, and dad smoke. They all look like dumbasses. And they kind of smell bad at all times. I'll never smoke. I cannot possibly see why anyone would start smoking; I had one cigarette and it was one of the sickest tasting and most unpleasurable experiences ever. "Durrr NEVER SAY NEVER." said someone who felt the need to be a douche. Uh. No. I'm serious when I say "never". My dad smoked two cartons a day when I was a little kid. Yeah. Cartons. That's like, 200 cigarettes. He gave up for 2 years. My sister, being the idiot that she is, constantly smoked around him and brought the habit back. He's only up to about 3 packs a day again. Still, not good. I dont' want to have to deal with a weakness such as cigarette addiction. |

smoke. I have quit before and I was able to do it without any trouble really, however after a few months I decided to start again because I like to. I only have a couple of addictions really. Lot's of bad habits. Of my addictions only two are harmful, and one is not life threatening or potentially life threatening like my smoking is. |

I have smoked salvia once though...wow that was fun....but i told myself i would never do it again because it's a drug and before that i told myself i'd never do drugs...so i haven't done it for 2 years....but ya it's like a hallucagen but don't do it...it fucks you up pretty bad for a couple hours....I guess some guy jumped off a building lol. | |||

| Salvia is a drug but it's a legal drug. Similar to pot in many respects except as
you said it's also a mild hallucinagenic. I've never heard of anyone really going nuts from it though. I've smoked it before and didn't feel much of anything aside from a regular kind of pot stoned feeling. |

| I roll my own cigarettes, i do it well and enjoy the experiance of opening a fresh pouch of tobacco, releasing a small but palpable burst of aroma from the soft moist tobacco within. I like the crisp sound the paper makes as i remove a leaf. I like the texture of the tobacco as i gently comb and pull it, adjusting it gently on the sheaf of rolling paper, then artfully rolling it into a perfect fluted, coned cylinder, then lovingly drawing my tongue acros the seal to close the cigarette. I like the anticpation as i light the match, then the fullfillment of that desire as the cigarette catches. When i pull the rich heady smoke into my lungs i cannot help but smile, and when i exhale i watch the smoke shaping the ambient air currents like a sculptor reveals a hidden bust in a block of marble. oh yeah and rolling your own cigarettes is really really cheap
