I've gone through 12 AAA batteries with my wireless mouse (used for my laptop) within like, a month maybe.

I guess I'm always supposed to turn my mouse off when I'm not using it, but still ... I think batteries would last longer than this.

I guess I should just get a wired one, at least for home.

I change my wireless mouse's batteries twice a year. Really. I don't know why you guys are having trouble with them.

It's a Logitech something or other, but there is no on/off switch for it. It's just always on, like my laptop. But, usage is what drains batteries.

If you're a hardcore gamer, get a corded mouse. If you're a casual user (like me, I do game but not on PC) then wireless is fine because the mouse isn't being used all the time.

Also, like a cell phone, if the mouse has to amp its power to locate the receiver's signal, it's gonna drain the battery faster. Other than that, I've never had power issues with my mouse. Signal issues, yes, but that's because I have a myriad of wireless devices.

I don't know what the problem is then. Do you use just regular batteries?

My mouse was like, $30 or so. It's a Targus.

I know this is a double post, but I'd just like to note my mouse is crapping up again, obviously showing signs that the batteries are dead.

Did I get a bad mouse?
Maybe a faulty battery pack?

Ugh. I'll definitely look out for a rechargable one.

I have the same problem with mine, I hate it. Batteries just run out too fast in a mouse, I do a lot of clicking, browsing boards and playing games and such.

Only good thing is there's no worry with that STUPID magnetic ball thing. Damn I hate those.

Yeah, I'll probably just buy a wired one soon. I just don't like using the touchpad, and the little motion thing in the middle of the keyboard (whatever its called?) and going through two AAA Batteries in a matter of days is just horrible.

Well, I have a recharger on mine, I just leave it on my charger overnight, and when I play Xeogaming, I pick up the mouse and start wheeling away...

Mine is a Logitech rechargeable laser mouse something something.....

Got it at Circuit city for like 50 bucks, its really quite accurate...

if you want, I can try and find one for you on like a computer shopping website...but i got a shitload of spyware on my PC....my fault for not having an anti spyware guard on my PC....*Cries*

My Logitech uses regular AAAs. It's great for what it does. I don't get the range I used to, but that only because I moved the receiver higher.

Anyway, it does fine for me. I got mine on sale for about $35 when our local Office Depot was going out of business.

But, Logitech seems to make the better wireless mice, both rechargeable and standard battery.

I'd say you got a bad mouse. Targus makes nice portable wired mice, but I wouldn't trust their wireless.

...

My mouse works again. The new batteries were faulty or something.
