| I hit a fucking deer.
Not just a deer, but a fucking Buck that felt that he needed to leap right infront of me, and completely smash the right side of the windshield. From which point, scared me shitless, for the windshield almost caved in and smashed Drizzt x-x Well, the front end is smashed to hell, half the window is shattered, and the right door dosn't open, the hood dosn't pop up, and now theres a really bad smell that I can't locate. Anyone else have a similar experience? (P.S. Noone was hurt, just the damn deer that took it's sweet time dieing.) |

| Oh man, that's pretty scary. I've never been a car when someone's hit a deer, but I have when someone's hit a possum or raccoon. We don't get deer in my city.
Actually, it's funny when my mom hit a possum the other day, I wasn't even looking. I just suddenly heard a barely audible, but definitely noticeable crunch/squish sound which came off like we ran over a tree branch covered in meat. I turned to my mom and asked her what we just hit. She says, "A possum." I pause for a moment and then feel sad, though jokingly say, "What if it had babies?" And she says, "Oh, it was just a little baby one." And I retort, sadly with, "You hit a BABY?!?!" Heh heh, anyway happy to hear you're all OK, but nuts about the car. |

My father and I have hit 8 deer's in my lifttime...In his it was over 12....4 of them we took home and made Venecin  Yum....And im not joking....
But yeah, some of the times the deer's neck would snap and die instantly...No damage would be brought to the vehicle, andwe can continue on. I think the worst thats happen was I was sleeping in the back seat of my dad's truck one night and BAM! Bloody deer head right in front of me... Imagine waking up to that... And then there was this one funny moment...We killed a deer so bad, it was scared shitless, literally. Shit was all over the windshield... Have the insurance get you a new vehicle |

The car was a peice of crap, my insurance won't help me with it  ;
Well, I looked at the positives of this. Since I'm currently unemployed, I don't have to pay the insurance. The car was almost empty on gas and it was ganna die soon anyway. o.O Meh. |

| That's not so bad. We hit a horse once.
I'm not entirely sure what a horse was doing in the middle of the road, but we hit it. The only damage to the Explorer was an imprint of the horse's ass in the hood, and maybe some damage to the stuff UNDER the hood, but everything else was fine. Good enough to drive home anyway. But yeah, it kinda sucks that you're carless, but it could be worse. I guess. I dunno, I'm not good at making things seem better than they are... (Last edited by Kell Orine on 05-30-06 01:23 AM) |

| I've seen a car hit a deer before, just clipped it's hoof as it was jumping over the railing into the woods... it did a complete flip and went out of sight head first (it was a good incline down so I am sure it died). It made me cry to watch it.
It sucks that your car is dead, and it is horrible that the buck died... but it is good to know that you and Drizzt are okay. |

Unfortunately, because of the area that I live in, the chance that I will come across a deer is very high (and I have on quite a number of occasions). I have even come across a moose at one point. Luckily, by the time I get up to them, the deer has already ran off into the woods again. Well, at least you're not hurt, that is the most important thing. When we had the mini van we hit a couple of coyotes.  didn't mean too but we had too.
T_T I hit a squirrel today. I'm so sad for the cute lil thing. I couldn't break or anything I just continued on my way. |
