So I watched this DVD for the...I dunno, 4th time?
The anime is kinda a prologe to the first 2 Armitage movies. It kinda explains how Armitage had her baby, and the explination on where the Thirds came from... Its also a bit on the graphic side. Like, it seems to go too much into detail on deaths of the Thrids, which are cyborg robots who can give birth to children... Awesome, Cute and kicks major ass... So has anyone seen this anime? I recommend seeing this movie first before the first two...Its also cool on the fact that the animation is toatally different than the first 2... Plus Naomi Armitage is like Uber spunky and hot |

In terms of a cyberpunk futuristic anime with a female cyborg who kicks ass, this anime blows Ghost in the Shell away in my opinion.
Its been years since I've seen it, but I remember I really enjoyed it. Its just a pure classic. I really didn't care for the OVA sequel though, with the horrifying CG car chase, and whatnot. But yeah, this short series rocked. It was like BladeRunner, the anime. Sajin: If you haven't, you should also check out Iria Zeriem (spelling might be off). Its a little older like Armitage, but one of my favorite OVA's to date. (Last edited by X on 05-18-06 10:12 AM) |

I liked the original, but the dual matrix one wasn't as good. (Allegedly)
It kind of was kind of like Ghost in the Shell, but with a more cocky femme fatale and only a pinch more violent. I saw it first over at Kaijin's and I think he still might have it somewhere.... I wanna watch it after school! |

I agree with you there Nelrith, Dual Matrix wasnt as good in terms of animation, Dubbing, and storyline...The only good battle in that movie was Naomi fighting against her "Sisters"...that was pretty tight...
And plus she wasnt as spunky, but at leasat you know that "Pluto" had his memory safe inside Naomi...*Whew* |

Hmm, maybe it's been awhile but I don't remember it being that violent, compared to GITS. There was a handful of odd nudity though.
And Sajin, this is the main character from Iria ... Iria. I don't know why, but the setting always made me think of Star Wars. The planet the series takes place on seems a lot like Tatooine. (Last edited by X on 05-20-06 03:56 AM) |
