| Interesting match-up ...
Snake was born as a result of the Les Enfants Terribles project, which was an attempt to create the perfect soldier by cloning the "Greatest Warrior of the 20th Century", aka Big Boss. Those behind the project did not wish for a truly identical clone. They instead desired a phenotype in which all the 'superior' genes were expressed. So it was that Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, and Solidus Snake were created, Solid Snake was born with all of Big Boss's recessive genes, Liquid Snake had all of Big Boss' dominant genes. Solidus Snake, on the other hand, the third brother eventually born of the project, was a "well balanced masterpiece," having been manipulated in such a way that he expressed both dominant and recessive genes in equal measure. Snake's career was notable enough that in 1995, he was recruited into the Special Operations group FOXHOUND as a Commando. Still merely a rookie, he was chosen to infiltrate the heavily fortified independent state of Outer Heaven (by South Africa), rescue his fellow operative Gray Fox and other prisoners and destroy a new super weapon called Metal Gear. Uknown to Snake however, his superior who ordered him into Outer Heaven, Big Boss, the commander of FOXHOUND, was behind the uprising and actually counting on Snake's inexperience to lead him towards failure. Despite his supposed genetic shortcomings (he did not hold the dominant genes), it was Solid Snake who battled and defeated both Big Boss and Liquid, proving that genes do not show ones fate. Yoshi! Yoshis are a type of species in the Mario World, and also the name "Yoshi" is the name of a specific one of these dinosaurs. Yoshis have very long and sticky tongues, and can swallow basically anything. The can even things that are much larger than they are. Almost everything they swallow is transformed into an egg, which they can throw as a weapon. Nifty. THe also have strong pounds, and can crush their enemies. They prefer fruit, although they can and usually will eat other things, living creatures included. Their very large noses can detect fruit buried underground and other secrets. Yoshi himself is depicted as green, but other Yoshis in general come in a variety of colors. Yoshi is the protagonist of his own series as well as being alongisde Mario. Yoshi has yet been seen as dead, so we can be silly and just assume they are tough to beat (after being hit, no matter what by, Yoshi just goes "row!" and starts running around) |
