I've known about Judas Priest since Jr. High, but I've never really heard any of their stuff besides a half working tape a friend gave me years back. A few week ago, that all changed.

I bought Metal Works 73' - 93', and honestly I'm beyond impressed. With this one little compilation album, they've easily ranked up with my favorite bands. Judas Priest, without a doupt has probably some of the greatest intro's ever, per song. Each of these 30+ songs has quite possibly some of the best and most unique riffs I have ever heard, and the long solo's are insanely good also. The vocals are also very interesting because the singer seems to take on a lot of different tone's, and they're all done very nicely.

Some people say Judas Priest is kind of one of the fathers of regular Power Metal. True? Possibly. They're not your average Black Sabbath, or Iron Maiden. They're very unique, upbeat, fast, and stylized to the max.

For any kind of Metal fan, I'd give them my highest recommendation.

I also really like their art work for the albums and stuff, totally cool stuff. :D

I listened to a couple of their songs upon reading this thread and I must admit, I immediately became fan upon hearing just the intro riffs. My favorite as of yet is "Burn In Hell". As you said, the lead vocalist is very unique and I quite enjoy his vocals in Burn In Hell, especially during the vocals.

Hmm, well next time I get on the forums I'll have to pull out the CD, so I can give you guys some recommendations.

I can say their stuff from their 90's "Painkiller" album is a lot heavier than their earlier stuff. Which isn't a bad thing, it's just a little more on the faster / heavier side.

But overall I like, just about every song on this album I got.

I got disc one of the Metal Works...the other disc, someone else has it. Judas Priest has always been good in my book, the songs that I think of upon hearing their name is usually Electric Eye or Painkiller.
