Jack took the punch without flinching, his hand grabbing Kevin's arm. He stared coldly in Kevin's eyes as he talked.

"So, Kiera, you really didn't understand. We had the file because we were planning to rescue from the government. It worked perfectly. The last mission I was on with Urashi, we were going to get acess codes to rescue you when I was taken hostage and was fitted with a chip. Urashi was forced to join the Government, because they didn't know we were after Morrighan. He then worked undercover for many years until another Wiccan cast a dark spell, putting a shadow on Urashi. You wouldn't understand. A "shadow" is a spell that literally takes over your body and mind, making you a slave for the caster. His every passing moment in control was a concentration of pure will and strength. The only reason he was so easy to beat was because he exhausted himself being normal. Also, he saved Dalit many times. They orginally planned to put a tracking device on him, to keep him away from humanity, to turn him into a god-forsaken machine, but each time, Urashi intervened on his child's behalf. He kept Morrighan alive this long. The Government decided to execute Morrighan after she gave birth, but he changed that. She owes her life, I owe my life, Kiera owes her life, Dalit owes him his life. Urashi is the only reason we survived this long. And don't start, Kevin, saying you had nothing to hang onto. We've been here for long enough to keep you under our wing. He didn't kill your brother, Kevin. He was accidentily responsible for his death, and it hurt him deeply. He sent him on a mission to scout the Vampire Estate and he was killed in a crossfire spawning from two fueding vampire houses. Now, Kevin...Shut up and go save your relationship with Francine. I'm best man, remember?"

Jack turned to Morrighan and Dalit.

"Dalit, I want you to never think a nasty thought to Urashi again. He is one of the greatest men to ever live, and he deserves a fond memory."

"You got a lot of my brother in you, ya bastard," Kevin said to him. "It's kinda irritating." He smirked and patted his shoulder, and walked off past him, and towards Morrighan. "Sorry, Morrighan. I gotta learn how to watch my mouth from time to time. Lotta stress in my life, you know? I'm sorry you couldn't kill him." He bowed his head in apology and caught up with Francine, and stopped in front of her. He looked away, and turned back to her. "I... I gotta learn how to shut up. I'm sorry. Maybe Keira's right about all this emotion shit... I shouldn't have put you behind everything else. I..." He couldn't talk anymore. He felt that words were not suitable for this situation, and felt as though he was stumbling over himself as he spoke. With deciciveness, he took fancine by the shoulders, and embraced her with a kiss. I'm so sorry... I'll never hurt you again; I promise.

*Dalit looked up at Jack and nodded silently. Morrighan slowly sank to the floor, her eyes staring into nothing. After a few moments she spoke, her words very quiet*

"How did you learn of me?"

"Well, it is about you, so I'll tell you. It was a mission me and Urashi went on. Don't ask Kiera, she doesn't know. We were instigating a riot and invading a Government fort over in the Tarton desert when we stumbled upon records of any Type 3 experiments. Any Type 3s in active duty in any organization we've known about for a long time. 2 years later, we were reviewing the information and we realized your plight. You were one of 10 remaining Type 3s remaining, so we decided to spring you, setting in motion a plan. We planned on freeing you a different way, but Urashi adapted. I guess over time he truley fell in love."

Jack looked back through his memories, and nodded, his conlusion affirming itself.

Keira awaited for the conversation to be over. She needed to talk to Jack alone anyway. Keira looked off into space. Her eyes sort of drifted to her thoughts of her parents. She didn't remember anything but them telling her to run. Keira sighed and looked at Jack. "I know that mission." She said closing her eyes.

Francine blushed and smiled. "No problem," she said pushing him off of her. "Just learn to keep your mouth shut once in a while and you got yourself a deal, relationship saved."

He looked at her, and sat down on the ledge next to the stairs by the main door. He lit up a cigarette, and had a sad look on his face. "Y'know, sometimes, I don't think I'm cut out for this kind of work. I'd rather lead a peaceful life, if it were up to me." He looked up at Francine. "We got a lot of work ahead of us, and I'm glad you'll be there with me."

*Morrighan nodded quietly as Jack finished talking, reality sinking in. She looked at Dalit, his face showing the concern for his mother though he kept silent... so mature for a five year old.*

"Go with Aldis for a bit, okay sweetie? Mommy needs a bit of time to clear her head."

*She rose slowly, nodding her thanks to Jack and Kiera for showing her their side, and headed back into the woods. When she reached the spot where the ritual had been held she sank back down to her knees again. It wasn't like when she had visited her mother's grave to talk to her... she had been buried since Morrighan couldn't do the ritual... but it was the last place she had seen his body, so it was close enough. She spoke quietly to the trees around her, hoping that Urashi's spirit could somehow hear her*

"So you weren't the monster I thought you were after all? Heh... wish I could've learned that before. They say that you loved me, I don't know how they could know that, but they knew you better than I did.... In a way, I blame myself for this... if you hadn't tried to spring me you wouldn't have been caught and turned into the shadow of a man that you were when I knew you." *she felt tears welling up in her eyes, and didn't bother to fight them off, she just balled up her fists in her lap*

"You hurt me so badly, Urashi! I know now that you didn't do it voluntarily, and I know now that all those times that you had seemed compassionate that it was the real you.... I guess that I'm hear to ask you to forgive me, for all the times I thought you were a heartless beast and for all the times I wished death on you. I only wish now that I could have known the real you, like Jack and Kiera... and that we could have been a family. I'm sure Dalit would have loved that...."

*She fell silent again, just sitting there on the cold ground with her confusing memories and a newfound and painful sense of loss. The rug had been pulled out from under her again. She was more lost now than before, and she still had to find a way to get that mark off Dalit's head and save him once and for all from the Government. It just wasn't her month it seemed*

Jack nodded at Kiera, sending her the signal he would be back in a minute, and he followed Morrighan, listening to her intently. He leaned against a tree and dropped his head, taking in her every word. He waited until she finished before making himself known.

"Want to know how I know? When I did the ritual, I was flooded with Urashi's mind and soul. I know everything he knew, felt, saw, heard. I felt his love for you. Otherwise, he would have left. He knew he would die once the shadow joined him, so, he planned this. The bastard played us like pawns."

He walked over to Morrighan and lifted her up. He gave her a comforting hug, a smile still on his face.

"He left me a message in his mind. He wants us to finish this. You up for it?"

Slowly Keira held the athame in her hand and smiled. It was a small momento, but it's going back to its owner... So she thought.

"KEIRA!!" Trois shouted running from behind her.

Keira jumped up and almost tripped. She turned around and smiled. "Trois you-"

"SUICIDE'S NOT THE ANSWER!!!" Trois shouted and tried to grab the knife. His hand missed as he dropped the bunches of papers he held in his arms. "Don't do it Keira!!"

Keira blinked and looked at him trying to reach for the athame. "Uh... I'm not killing myself Trois!!" She shouted laughing. "If anything that's what I'm worst at, you should know."

Trois stopped for a minute and began to gather the papers. "Is that so...." He stopped and thing blinked looking at the ground with a shocked face. He stod up and turned around grabbing Keira by the shoulders. "ARE YOU SMILING AND LAUGHING AT THE SAME TIME?!!!"

Keira blinked and held her eyes. "Trois, what?"

"You never smiled once when I saw you! Not once! And then all of a sudden you smile AND LAUGH! This is an occaision it should be written in calendars!" Trois was excited he turned around and started gathering papers sloppily. He got up and began walking off. Finally he stopped. "Hey Boss," he kept his back turned. "Where'd get a smile like that? It's very becoming of you and makes everyone on staff happy to see you happy. Keep on smiling like that."

Keira laughed. "I'm just sort of glad I'm going to be out of this chicken coop."

"Where ever you're going, a smile like that is unforgetable, everyone's gonna remember that Boss." Trois walked off.

Keira blinked and looked off to the side. "That was surprisingly, entertaining."

As he woke up in his room, James shook the feeling of dizziness from his head, and looked at the large, stained bandage on his side, and the sling on his arm that had been broken. Hearing some shouts of jubilation, he decided to pull himself together and got up. "Damn... That bastard did a number on me, alright..."
As he made his way outside, he saw the normally somber Kiera smiling. THis was not unusual, but this time, her eyes smiled with her. She truely seemed happy. James approached her, limping slightly. "What's going on, ma'am? What did I miss?"

Keira looked at James and shook her head. "Nothing..." She said looking at Trois leaving. "I'm leaving the chicken coop though. That's all. I'm excited about this job I have to do. I mean it's a sad job, but I'm just glad to be out of the office for once."

Keira twirled her hair and sighed. "Besides, I need to get out anyway."

"All I need you to do now is to relax with Dalit. Time is precious, and family is nothing to waste. I have Aldis, and that's it. You have Dalit, and he needs you."

Jack and Morrighan walked back to Kiera and the others. Jack had a slightly happy expression hidden behind his nonchalant exterior.

"Forget any plans we had before. We are attacking the government base as an organized army in 3 days. James, Trios, you two muster as much an army as possible. We will discuss our actions later. Kiera and I have buisness to attend to."

Trois nodded and walked away. "James come with me, we're doing this one together..."

Keira blinked. She looked at Jack with a small smile. She nodded and took Jack by the arm taking him to her car. Then she stopped and looked at Jack's car. "Hey... which one should we take to get to where going. You think he'd recognize a red car or your's."

Keira put a finger on her chin and tilted her head. "Ofcourse he would recognize your car and you know the directions there better than I did." Keira looked at Jack and gave a glare. "I'm not flying. Can't do that. It makes me sick. Heights especially."

Jack's eyes opened wide in shock the second he saw Kiera smile. He was then really confused following Kiera grabbing his arm and leading him to the car. He was a little disoriented. None of this made any sense. Kiera's voice brought him back to reality.

"Well alright. My car it is."

Jack opened the door for her and then shut it after she got in. To those paying close attention, he was definately confused. He still had his sense of content about him, but he was so confused. All the deaths on his mind, all the deaths that await, all seemed nonexistant to him now. He was with Kiera, and right now that was all he needed. He got in the car, smiled at Kiera, and flipped the ignition. He hit the gas and drove off from the garage, heading toward's Ted's house with the speed this old piece of junk could muster.

Keira sighed and looked out the window. She clicked her seatbelt on. Her eyes looked straight infront of her. She cupped her hands on the athame. "Hey Jack," she said as her eyes faced him. "Did you know....."

Keira sighed and looked at the athame. "Urashi died.... on my day of birth?" Keira looked right out the window. Tears began to flow out of her eyes. "Urash-Papa died on my birthday...."

Jack grimaced the moment she began crying. Damn, he had hoped she wouldn't remember today was her birthday. But that was asking for a miracle. He tried to figure out what to say as they drove through the white-laden streets. He turned a corner when he finally found the words. The moment he did so, it began snowing a wonderful white rainstorm, the mere touch seeming to say that the gods were blanketing us humans from the cold. Watching out for us.

"Kiera, Urashi didn't die today. He died a long time ago. What we saw die was just what the Government did to him. Urashi is thankful we did what we did, and he's fine now. Don't think of it as the death of him, think it as the freeing of his soul from the government. That is what he'd want us to think."

Jack took his left hand off the wheel to dig into his trenchcoat. He pulled out a small picture, aged but resting inside a new frame.

"I didn't want to give you this 'till later, but I suppose now you'd want it more than ever. It's a picture of the 3 of us, from almost 5 years ago. I found it and thought you'd want it."

Jack handed her the picture and gave her a reassuring one-armed hug, his other hand on the wheel.

"C'mon Kiera. I need you now more than ever. I can't do this alone and you know it."

He chuckled once sofly under his breath. This reminded him of something he had heard when he was a child. Never mourn the fallen, rejoce for them. He looked at Kiera and smiled.

"Now cheer up, we're going to see Ted. He wants to see you happy, like we all do."

Keira looked at the picture and she put her hands around it. She hugged it close to her and she continued to cry. "I'm sorry..." She said quietly. "For crying... I just can't stand the fact that I saw him.... like that..." Keira wiped away her tears and looked at the athame. "I was assigned to give this to who ever we're going to."

She looked at it and sighed. "I didn't want to do the death ritual because I can't do it... It hurts... it even hurt when Deux died. It hurt when Kevin's brother died... It just plain out hurt." Keira looked out the window. "I remember when I started this and Urashi was goine... all I ever thought about was how THEY caused it and how THEY need to pay." Keira shook her head. "Now... it's just different. THEY took Xeios, THEY took Deux, and now THEY made what was left of Urashi come here." Keira looked back at Jack. "I guess now... it's personal."

"...Kiera, you need to stop bottling yourself in. I miss them all as well, but we can't just sit there, eh? We're almost done this. I want to finish it so I can go. I feel like I caused a bunch of this. If 369 hadn't continued after Urashi, then all those great people might've still been alive. I felt selfish for continuing, and I still do. But, all I can do now is push on...Kiera, it's alright to cry. You need to more than anyone."

Jack's eyes were cold with images of the possible future. What he couldn't tell anyone was that he wanted to die overthrowing the government. He knew too much, did too much. He never wanted to bring any grief to any of them ever again, but he couldn't live with anyone else. He hoped his time was running low. The two closest people to him were in his mind. Kiera and Urashi. He saw Urashi die. He fought him. Jack felt as though he had killed Urashi himself. It was his fault Duex was dead. He could've fought off the vampire if his body hadn't been so infernally weak. James never would've died if he had been more aware and he hadn't let Urashi be forced into the Government. He played such a major part in all these deaths. And Xeios wouldn't have left to protect them if he had taken care of that vampire. He was responsible for all of Kiera's grief, and it hurt him inside. He never had the chance to say it, but he loved Kiera with all his heart. He didn't want to cause her any more pain.

Keira looked at Jack and brushed a hand through her hair. She looked straight forward. "Just don't go..." Keira said randomly. She sighed and grasped the athame. "Just don't go Jack..." She trembled a little, but she kept her composure. "Don't go..."

Trois sighed and wrote on the papers as he walked by Keira's office. He looked up and saw a figure at the door. "Who's there?"

"It's me... Aldis." She said finally. "I had to rest. The child can be a handful at times."

Trois smiled and continued working. "Yes, that's true..."

"Where's Miss Keira?" Aldis asked.

"With her father..." Trois said laughing.

"Father?"

"Jack.." Trois said finally. "AND Urashi were like fathers to her. She learned all of her magic from them and she learned how to research as well. Infact her whole life and world revolves around them. It revolved around them more than it did Xeios."

Aldis nodded. "i'm going to go find Morrighan."

"Have fun... oh hey see how our army is developing."

Keira looked out the window and watched the road. "If you go... I'd have no one to lean on."
