I know this thread was wiped with the board, so here we are again.

Who plays DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) or ITG (In The Groove)? Do you pplay home or arcade? If at home, do you have a dance mat or controller?

I play for my scores in an arcade. All my song scores are listed Here!

I also have a GrooveStats account, Located Here, but I only have two scores. The nearest machine to me is in Eugene, but not for long because...

I just bought my very own arcade DDR/ITG machine. Oh yes... I am so 1337.

Heh. So! Favorite songs/mixes, what? Spill the beans.

HOLY SHIT you bought your own machine????!!!

I started playing stepmania at the begging of the summer then in August I started on ITG, I have little experience with DDR. I pretty much goto the arcade to play ITG 1-2 times a week, I wish I could go more.

At the moment I can beat and get fairly decent scores on most 9's, im working on beating all the expert level 9's at the moment, maybe soon I'll be able to move onto 10s.

He said it best.

I mean ... jadamn, aren't they pretty expensive? That's too awesome though, be prepared for your house to turn into a rave every night now.

But yeah, I'm not much of a fan, just because I'm not really good at the game. I really do get a kick out of watching others do levels on Extreme though.

An ITG2 dedicated cabinet costs 10,000 dollars plus shipping from Korea I believe. Buying a DDR cabinet and upgrading is alot cheaper but still very expensive.

I played DDR for a little then jumped into ITG and my skill level shot through the roof pretty quickly, ITG songs are generally harder than DDR ones even at the same step level.

I used to think that Expert songs were insane and so were the people who 90%+ them but now I can see myself at least passing many in the near future.

Haha. Yes. I have already purchased a Dance Maniax 2nd Mix Append J-Paradise. (DMX). I bought it for $1,800 when it is worth $3,000 - $4,500. It's a dancing game similar to DDR, but only you use your hands instead of your feet.

I JUST purchased the ITG machine. It's actually a DDR 3rd Mix (Korean version) that has been upgraded to have ITG and ITG2. So it IS a DDR machine, just upgraded. (woth about $9,000 - $10,000 - purchased for $7,900.) No shipping costs, either. We went and picked it up from Eugene, Oregon, and drove it back down to Medford, Oregon.

Also.... Konami, the makers of DDr are based in Japan. However, Roxor, the mkaers of ITG are based in the Americas (Washington, I believe). If you buy an ITG2 dedicated cabinet, it would be shipped from there, however it is not backwards compatable with DDR. (basically, if you buy an ITG machine, you can't play DDR on it, but if you buy a DDR machine, you can play ITG on it).

Funny you should mention Stepmania, Mrmenz. My fiance and his friend created a hack that allows us to play Stepmania on the DMX machine. Hehe. However, since it is now in a public place, we aren't allowd to do that without concent from all the artists.

Before my pregnancy, I could play anything on DDR and pass all but 4 songs on Extreme (8th mix). Now, I can only barely pass 8 footers. *sad face*

Where are you from, Mrmenz?

I'm from Pennsylvania, and a dedicated stepmania cabinet would be sweet to have considering you can put any song on it, and who wouldn't want to play Quasar on foot XD.(Well I've tried on my soft pad and USB converter)

Speaking of Stepmania I think I play a little too much any more, I've gotten pretty hardcore with my index fingers I just wish I could do half the things I can on keyboard on a pad.

Uh...

Um...

Does DDR: Mario Mix count? At the moment I can dance through most of the songs on Very Hard mode with an A or B. I'm kind of new to the DDR craze if you haven't guessed already.

I guess so. Why not?

Anyway. For those of you that are a hardcore fan of the game some of the songs you hate (me as well) are:

Captain Jack (who just died, BTW)
and Crash!

just because the n00bs play them over and over and over and over and over and over...

I also hate Telephone Operator.

I love playing Afronova, It's A Wonderful Night, Burning Heat, the Least 100 Second Song, Holic, Jet World, Abyss, So Deep, Drop Out, and I like trying most 10 steps, but so far I can only pass Bag, Sakura, and Outer Limits. ohh R3(mission Con) is another good one. I can nearly AA Holic, and given enough stamina could probably max combo Afronova. A routine that's pretty popular for my friends and/or me to do is play Matsuri Japan on standard with Little on. It makes a great big pause in the middle of the song, long enough for a water break or small purchase. The songs I hate playing are I Feel for its constant(but different) off beats, and Waka Laka for having wayy too much air in eighth runs and disgiusing itself as an 8 step, and DXY for the same reason. Then PSM, or Paranoia 290, for being hard, and only that.

Van Rhannell, you should join DDRecall (DDRecall.com) and submit your scores online. THat way I can give you challenges and stuff.

Waka Laka can suxk my c*ck. I don't know how I got an A on it, but I did. LoL. I think it's the background that messes me up the most.

And what version do you have? Arcade/home max/max2/Extreme/etc?

What mix of Dancemaniax is it?

and i have yet to play ITG, and i'm awesome at DDR. Well not really awesome but you get the idea.

I usually play on extreme in the local arcade or on a custom stepmania build in an arcade cabinet at TGA. Its an awesome little place and you should check it out if you're on th eeast coast

I will be making a cross-country DDR/ITG trip when I have the money in a few years. My fiance and I have a goal to play every DDR in the US. Heh.

It's 2nd mix, append J-paradise.

Do you have a DDRecall account?

Actually the new dedicated cabs are made in Texas...or Mexico...wherever Andamiro is located. (Andamiro is the makers of Pump It Up)

Oh, and here's a pic of the machine...

I'm gonna hold back on what I'm actually think, and stick to subject.

I used to be in the care of four DDR machines at Disneyland and the Hotels, and those machines were used to death. We lost so much business whenever even one of those machines went down.

There was this one guy, always wearing a DDRFreak.com shirt, that would come in about twice a year just to keep his score on top. Once, him and some other Asian guy, battled to keep their scores on top for over three hours. I know, because I stood there--well, not really, but I was nearby--for the whole time. In the end, the Asian guy beat him out.

After my knee injury, I dropped DDR for a long time. I have the dance pads, but I don't play it anymore. Karaoke Revolution has become my new fad.

Hmm... is Karaoke Revolution pretty fun? My friend bought it and wants me to test it out. I'm not sure about that... lol.
