Anyone getting this? I've pre ordered it, and I can't wait. I love SC2, and if this is anyway better then it should be awesome. The ability to create your own characters is the thing that appeals to me most... Hopefully, they've fixed the (minor) problems that existed in SC2, and the new characters look awesome. |

Prepare for absurdly cheap AI in regards to blocking and countering. But other than that little issue, and the fact that I can't clear Ch10 in Chronicles of the Sword, it's fun. |

| So is it a "Buy It" or a "Rent It"?
Cause Soul Calibur 2 was "Buy It" good, but if its not as good as its predecessor, I won't work towards actually buying it. Are there really only 3 new characters? Are all the old ones back? Is it on all the consoles and have console-only characters? Can you play as Yoshimitsu or Talim (cause I'm awesome with those characters)? The only characters I've seen have been that guy who looks like the Yellow Wizard from Gauntlet, some Forest Ho, and Bigknockers McUmbrellakimono. |

| The three completely-new characters are Zasalamel, Tira, and Setsuka, but a few characters that skipped SC2 returned.
Also, I'd guess 'buy it' good, if you A: have friends, or B: Can handle a cheap computer... And... PS2-only, Necrid, Link, Heihachi, and Spawn were dropped. Edit: Oh, right, quite a few movesets have changed commants. Why? I dunno; you have to push different buttons for the same old attacks... WTF? Anyway, Yoshimitsu's hidden, just like in SC2... | Zasalamel is amazing from what I've seen, a scythe wielder with actual moderate speed. This is one of the games that contributes to my need of a PS2, which I want to get for <$100 as soon as they (will) drop it. I hope Ivy's Calamity Symphony is easier, or at least different, I've hardly ever pulled that off. Other than that, I'm mildly looking forward to the story, it's told in a pretty interesting manor. | |||

Supposedly, the game feels even more cheap this time. But I hear the create-a-character is pretty detailed and pretty good, and the new characters are awesome. I'm not sure about buying it, but it sounds like a good rental. |

| You can use your character in Chronicles of the Sword mode. The character you create in this mode is seperate from the ones you create in Create a Character mode. In this mode you create a character and go through twenty chapters of a strategy type game. I hate strategy games but this one is quite simple and addicting.
You are only able to use the regular characters in the Tales of the Soul mode. (Story mode) While you play through this mode you are given several choices on where to go next. Your choice alters the path that you character takes. Every now and then you'll have a QTE (I think that's what its called) where you have to press a certain button and/or direction at a moments notice. (This was originally done in Shenmue and later in Resident Evil 4) |

| What's most interesting about the created characters is that you have the same options for all of them, and unlocking something for one in CotS gets it for the normal Create-a-character mode. Why the seperation then? Dunno.
Created characters (through Create-a-character mode) can be used in Soul Arena (one-player mission/Vs. CPU mode) and Vs., I think. |

| Yeah, I bought it as well. Day after it came out because the godamn EB Games didn't get it on the right day. The game varies. It can be funner than Sc2 in certain parts, and other midless repeats of the same stage can fucking drive you insane. I gave Sc2 a 10/10, so I'd give this one a 9/10. I love character creation, cronicles of swords, tales of swords. The game is awesome in my opinion. So ha. | |||

I went to go rent it... but they didn't have it! Not for Gamecube... not for ANYTHING. What a crappy chain blockbuster must be! I almost got Resident Evil Zero... god I wish I took up that oppertunity. Looks like I'll only have Fire Emblem to keep me company until Soul Calibur finds its way to the shelves. Are you guys SURE you have it... cause its NOWHERE to be found in the movie store. I've seen in being sold, but I can't rent it! I'm el pissed. |

| Thats cause Link sucks without his masks, orcirana, and his 10,000 Master Swords XD. Anyway, this game flat out rocks SC2's multi-platform ass. Here are some reasons WHY exactly it is good...
1. The Character Creation: This is one of the most indepth character creations I have seen for a fighter. Everything is customizable (just about), straight down to the color of your characters underwear (especilly for your hot sexy female character XD). There are several main classes, and as you play, each one can gain disciplines which allow for different weapon usage. 2. The AI is beefed up. It acts and feels like you are playing a real person. No longer will they stand there and take everything you through at them, but will geniuenly kick your ass to Timbuktu. They will ring you out, attack you inbetween counters, etc. Some call it cheap, but I think it is great. 3. CoTS... Fire Emblem with Real Time fighting goodness...Need I say more? 4. NIGHTMARE vs ABYSS ZOMG! (Wishes they have Nightmares transformed state) 5. The endings are funny, and have multiple (about 3) branches. 6. You get Soul Edge weapons for all chara, and the very weird Souvineour weapons So yeah... GO BUY IT!!! GO NOW! FLY TO TEH STORE!!! |
