Yes, well, It did go that far, and let me tell you, I was frightened.

Ok, it started out as a play-fight between me and this guy at my work, Jim. Who is approximately 400lbs and between 34 and 36 years old. And I am about 135lbs and 16. We just kinda played around, and he came at me, twirling his fists playfully, so I returned the action. When he got close enough, he grabbed by by the shoulder and waist. I realized, shit this guy could take me out(him being thrice my weight) So I grabbed him by the back of the head, and wrapped my left leg around his right. He pushed me down, but I pulled him with me, bringing the fat man onto my body. That kinda hurt, but I was OK. And it was done.

We started a while later again, once more as a play fight, because he came into where I was working and started talking as if he had kicked my ass. So I opted for a rematch, expecting another friendly engagement. I jokingly swung at him(very lightly mind you) with my hard hat. Which he stopped with his hand. Then he turned me around and put me in a bear hug. Now, like the asshole I am, I started laughing because he wasn't hurting me. So he put me back on the ground(This is after I swung my foot backwards and it collided with his knee. He put me down.(He was rather winded)

He offered his hand in peace, but I refused it, I was too heated. And this is when things got really serious.

He got close again, and since I still thougth we were continuing jokingly(I was not going to let the guys watching see me back down after a bear hig that didn't hurt at all)I alowed him to. He threw me into a headlock, literally chocking me.(this is when it began being serious I guess) This is where I lifted his left leg slghtly into the air, and starting pushing. He let me go, just barely, but enough to slip out of the hold on my neck, to a slightly more comfortable hold on my lower face and jaw. I struggled my way free, for a thank of the mans disgustingly sweaty arms. But he pushed me to a wall, where he found a peice of two and a half inch trim, about two feet long. (I work in a lumber yard) He forced it to my throat, with me, amazingly holding the attept to strangle me off. My hands were about an inch away from his, on the inside of his, and one end broke. At this point, he had an insane look in his eyes, which told me playtime was over, and he said something along the lines of.

"You want to play with death? You're gonna get killed."

The other end of the board broke. Freeing my neck from his hold, I brought my knees into the air, still sort of held up by the fatass' grip. And pushed him away from me. Tom, my co-worker, came over and asked if I was alright, He gave Jim a crazy look like if he(Jim) didn't get out of there, he(Tom) was going to beat the shit out of him(Jim). He(Jim) walked off, pissed, put his stuff back on, and left the shed in a forklift. I was fucking shook uo, such to the point that I was nearly in tears. I was also pissed like you wouldn't believe. He took it too far. I started punching things in an insane rage, and my hand kinda got hurt, but no big deal. So, people found out about the confrontation, and people told people, and soon, two of the people who were most offended by this, informed the boss of the confrontation.

I was told to go to the office and explain what happened. I knew the guy Jim was usually good, but just lost control, and that he was going through problems at home right now. So I left out the part about him threatening my life. He still can, and probably will be fired, but I want to know if you have any comments on the events that took place. And should I tell my boss about the whole him threatening me thing. Because I really don't want to take too much more from this man, but I'm not pressing charges so that should be good. I'm not sure what to do...Please help me decide.

Well, it honestly sounds like you don't want to deal with this guy anymore, and judging by this arrangement he -should- be dealt with from these actions.

I don't think it would hurt anyway to tell your Manager that he did threaten your life, that's not something to take lightly if he really sounded like he was threatening you in a serious matter, that's serious.

Really, I think you should tell your boss about the whole deal, and make sure this guy is dealt with. He may have his issues with his home life, but he doesn't need to pointlessly take them out on others like he did with you.

I may be kindhearted in a way, but I also have a problem taking people seriously which is what will kill me eventually. I thought he was joking around until I was in a position I could not retaliate. And I think I'll take your advice. And tell my boss first thing in the morning. But yea, that could only piss him off more, and he kinda knows where I stay down here. But I guess for the next few days I could just keep my knife handy . And if he comes anywhere near me, I'll dance circles around his ass and stab him until he stops moving. Then phone the police.

I've been in situations similiar to this. Play fighting that turns serious, not good times. (But I enjoy fighting so maybe they were good times. )

Back to your dilemma: I think it might be to late to tell your boss that he threatened you. You had your chance to tell him (I'm assuming your boss is a 'he') so bringing it up may not look good on your part. But if don't feel that the guy will get proper punishment or you don't feel comfortable working around him, then it might be best to bring it up.

Ok, I just got back from work. My boss had fired the man last night but not told me,. I went in, and explained everything, telling him I was too shaken up to remember all of the details. And he understood. I wrote up a statement and now my story is official. I included pretty much every detail as in this thread, but some of them might have been forgotten, on account of this page not being open whilst I did so.

But yea, he was scary, and he came in today to apeal for his job back. But failed. Apparantly he was crying in the office, but you shouldn't hire someone that dangerous because of a few tears...

This happened while I was away?! Dude, how the fuck did this happen? God, how did your parents react?...Man. Press charges, I know what you're thinking, he had reason to be angry, but people like that who CAN reach that level of anger should be behind bars for his own and other's protection. Oh my god, this is so messed up.

I don't think you should press charges or anything like that, but I think that the guy really should enroll in an anger management class or some other form of therapy. If he got that violent that fast, and with such little provoking, then he is a danger to people.

I'm glad to hear that you are okay though, and that he has been fired.

Yes, I am fine. Nothing is really bad now, it was when it hapened, because I was still afraid.

NO Cairoi, I am not pressing charges. I on't see any reason to take anything else away from this man. But hell, I really don't see any reason topress charges anyway. So that I, and all of the people there are forced through a long court battle? No, I think I'd rather not do anything legally concerting.

He is being sent to anger management though, instead of us pressing charges.
