My friend (DJROC) and i were talking at his house about World of Warcraft and why he quit. Mostly his point and forgive me Dave if im off a bit but mostly all you do in WOW is sit on ur ass all day to kill things, spending 15 bukes a month just to get to lvl 60, collect epic gear...and then pvp the whole time. It is a game with no skill WHAT SO EVER involved, only skill is not dying and sitting on ur ass untill you feel an odd tingle feeling on ur left ass cheek...

Anyways i love to play WOW and stuff but once i get full epic im getting out

... What do you expect from a MMORPG? Most of them are like that, since they're based on RPGs (and your generic "level up" RPG)

In offline RPGs like the Final Fantasies, it's actually... well... fun to level up. MMORPG's just seem to suck the fun out of it for me. In the offline ones, it feels like the game is helping you level up. I mean, you could just play straight through the game and barely have to "grind." There's a certain pacing that seemed to be missing when I played WoW and FFXI.

I'm a shy sort of guy, so I would do a lot of playing solo. MMO's just aren't built for that, it's like the game forces you to join groups. When playing solo: downtime, tough monsters, and relatively little XP for nearly dieing, forces me to sit there for hours on end doing something that isn't fun for me.

I actually thought Gunz was close to what I wanted in an online RPG. In WoW, there's no way a level 12 is going to be a level 20; it just won't happen. In Gunz, a level 12 could get lucky and kill the level 20. Luck and skill are factors. That's the kind of thing that I like in games. How powerful you are should not be measured purely on how long you sat there and killed random things.

Well remember there aren't many (if any) MMORPGs that follow a specific storyline. Most of the offline ones, including Final Fantasy and all that, are set on specific routes. Of course you can stray from these routes some times but not really too far out of your way. This is the reason why it helps you level up. The monsters gradually get harder as you continue.

In MMORPGs the stronger and weaker monsters are spread out everywhere. It's just knowing where to go to level up and get the helpful level ups. And PvP is really for characters who have defeated the much more powerful NPCs, and need more of a challenge. I trust there is a limit to who you can PvP and who you can't?

BTW Gunz is really a shooter.

WoW is a cool game. I didn't quit because I thought it sucked.

This was my 5 month experience with World of Warcraft:
-Pick a class.
-Have fun leveling up and learning new spells or abilities.
-Start having large downtime between battles.
-Stop having fun leveling up and learning new spells or abilities.
-Repeat 12 times.

The lower levels (1-22 to be specific) were the ones I played. I played every class you could select. It was painfully dull. The aspects of the game that I think are fun are accessible at levels 1-5(which might be as long as 2-4 hours before you leveled past that) and 40-60(which could be fun for weeks). I just couldn't bring myself to continue to pay 15 dollars a month to have the prospect of fun dangled in front of my nose. I'm not going to pay someone to have me waste 4 hours a day in front of my computer (not having fun) in order to have fun in the future. I will pay someone to have me waste 4 hours a day in front of my computer having fun.

Well, what your friend did is what I like to call simplifying the whole meaning of a game. WoW is an awesome online game, fun as hell too. Also, it's not like the game only gives you one path. There's a variety of things you can do.

P.S. It's usually my right ass cheak that gets the weird tingling feeling. :p

I still play WOW i mean i love going into MC with my Guild and raping all the monsters but i mean it SUCKS to start from lvl 1 and go to lvl 60 its so long and boreing after awhile. 60 i mean you cant go any higher then that but still atleast you get to do some of the most extreme things in the game...i mean taking a 40 person raid to fight only 2 monsters that are uber 1337 and losing 3 people to it, thats amazing seeing as how well....2 lvl 61 Elites vs 40 lvl 60s (All diffrent classes) and they still can take down men with ease. I saw this one Mage standing there waiting for DPS and all a sudden the monster smashed his foot on him and WHAMMY! dead...also during MC we lost ohh...10 noobish people who decided to stand near the lava when we told them not to and they got smacked into the lava ROFL. Anyways its off the subject i know im sorry but WOW is fun, but not when you have to lvl, its fun to go and explore knowing not many things can kill you...cuss you're a 60 and someone, other side lower lvl sees you, they will run in fear, you can travel around fast on a mount, being feared able to do whatever you please...its freedom in a world which we cannot enter.

I personally think that there is some skill in the way you utilize your skills...

And I don't get bored, because I don't play to get to level 60, I play to have fun, adn if that gets me to level 60 then so be it... But getting to level 60 should never be your sole purpose for playing, that's when things get boring.

Putting points into you're skill chart isent really hard at all, it dosent take skill ethier. I mean they even give you a chance to switch some around if you pay for it, now thats good and bad. I mean its good because if you screw up you're good, but its bad also because you can change you're skills around to make it perfect...i guess thats good but to me kinda pathetic.

If you dont play to get to lvl 60 then you're doing it for fun, im guessing? Well if you are doing it for fun, why not play a game which you dont have to pay...and its in the same area such as Guild Wars. Yes there are many diffrent things, but think about it...FREE. Also i dont see any skill in walking up to a monster...kill it....heal, go up to another monster....kill it...heal (Repeat...ect).

Hehe....I have been playing for months now and Have my lvl 51 druid. But now it has come to this point where no one will come with me to instances. So i can't lvl.Because I have done almost every quest for lvl 51's and up like felwood, tanaris, western plaguelands, well you should know what i'm getting to.So i created a warrior a few days ago.I am a blacksmith and miner with him.I am trying to get his blacksmithing up really high so I can make imperial armor so I can make tons of gold a day!But its gonna take a few more game cards to be able to do it that fast.So if anyone knows how to lvl really really fast gimme a privite message under the server khadgar(my name is clathana) and you could try and help me lvl!

KadajRodsusu, you completely understood what I meant...

I meant there is skill in utilizing your skills in a way so that they are most effective...

I wasn't talking about selecting them, or putting talent points in.

Well i see it in this way...

A Rogue is 60 and places his skills, utilizing them perfectly...ok hes like godly Rogue...but what happens when he fights a Warrior, Druid, Mage, Pally...he gets RAPED! Classes are way off also in that game, if they made people even and more skill involved with lets say, jumping, dodging, and using ur weapons in a way then it would take skill i mean in the game i wish when fighting a Pally i could jump around him and just slice where i want to, to try and kill him faster then he kills me. I mean its GOD DAMN ANNOYING! AHH! i might not be making sense right now because im in a hurry typing but mostly the game takes no skill and even if you do utilize you're skills in a perfect way the higher class will beat the lowers....

HIGHER CLASS

Pally
Warrior
Druid
Preist

LOWER CLASS

Rogue
Hunter
Mage

Mage

Im sorry, but if a level 60 rogue is beat by a mage or pally they should stop playing...

Druid can go either way,

and Of course your going to lose to a warrior with their overpower ability. I mean, they get a gaurenteed hit when you dodge...which a rogue dodges alot = Hit evasion agaisnt a warrior with imp overpower and your dead.

As for pallys and mages. Mages have CLOTH...come on... A rogue can do i know at least 2k in damage in the first 2-4 sec in the fight depending on gear. How much HP does a mage have seriously? As for pallys, sure its hard to kill them, but its hard for THEM to kill ANYTHING! Just run from them....lol

Truthfully i dont think you played the game that long to look at the effects of a Rogue and what a Mage can do to a Rogue. There are sucky rogues, and sucky mages. But Mages can kick Rogues asses easily and so can Pallys. Mostly all classes and kill a Rogue with ease. They arent the type to wear heavy armor, they wear leather ya thats good better then cloth, but not as good as mail or plate. So a pally can murder a rogue if the rogue fights back istead of run like you said. A Mage wears cloth but still they deal powerful attacks plus attacks that do DMG over time and thats a bitch to deal with, i truthfully dont think you played long enough to see the effects of a Rogue and a Mage.

I played in beta, and got the game the day it was released and still play. you seem to forget everything a rogue can do.

mmmm Lets see, we got DOT's also, Rupture, garrote, not to mention Deadly posions are just that. Evil. A pally can stun for what 4 sec every min? WHile we can stun for 6 seconds with kidney shot. Kick stops a spell from going off and makes so everything in that line is not useable for 5 seconds. You drain a paladin down to where he uses his two sheilds, with hit and run tatics you win. Mages, wear CLOTH!. Im sorry, but the damage you deal + stunning them is just to much. Lets see... cheap shot gets me 3 combo points(due to my talents). they stunned, they blink out. I know where they are going to be, i hit sprint and im there, Kidney shot to stun them for 4 seconds, nail with sininister strikes (drink thistle when needed) I dont know about you, but my SS crits pretty damn often and for around 500 or more per crit. So 4 seconds, i can get off 4 sinister strikes for around 300, with most likely 2 critting. So thats what 1,600 on just SS? Cold blood, evis = dead mage. Im not even throwing damage in from posion.

Ive played my class long enough, Maybe your just lazy at it =

I like how you mention what you do to someone when attacking but also remember there going to be attack to. Sure you can find a crappy suited Mage with crappy cloth gear, but go up against one with good gear and you get screwed. They attack also, dont think while your doing all this there not attacking. I mean rogues are ment to dish out dmg and take dmg but they take alot, they still can get murdered. Rogues are not the best class thats what im saying, and other classes can rape a Rogue easily with good gear and a good fighting tactic. We can test this by asking mages to fight us diffrent kinds, one with crappy, one with medium, and one with high...most likely the low will die and the rest will rape the Rogue. The pally stun is not all it does, it does more then that, it can attack, slow and not as much dmg but it can still do emense dmg and heal.
