Faded A faded photograph Sit's silent sentry A dry red rose in a vase A whispered memory Sunbleached bed spread and dingy lace Dust has settled in this quiet place Chipped paint and peeling paper All are pieces of what made her An abandoned room A silent outcast All reminders of her past An old music box A ballerina no longer spins A long dried paint set All speak of challenges Set and met A ragged teddy bear A scruffy little dog A stuffed rabbit, now threadbare And a once green but now white frog All of these,once treasured. They still remember her and The little girl she once was But now they sit behind a locked door Not knowing She's never coming back. |
