By thwe end of the summer, I plan on building a computor all for myself. So, can anyone suggest parts for me, I basically want a gaming PC builtto mainly play Guild Wars. I've never built a computor before, so could someone suggesst a list of parts and a general price so I can make an estimate of what would be good. Model #'s would be great.

I also would like this information, so I don't go to a computor hardware store and get ripped off for low-quality shit. Thanks in advance.

i emailed you a few parts...you'll have to select a case from http://www.newegg.com to fit your liking...get one with at least a 420w psu...i gave you i think a p4 2.8...but depending on your budget you could get a 3.0...unless you wanna be like me and get an AMD 3000+ ....the video card is ok, the Sapphire x700pro made by ATI...80gb hard drive by western digital..an AOpen MoBo...Kingmax 2x512 (1 gig) ram...word of the wise...dont get a monitor online...go to like best buy or circuit city or a local computer store...i got a refurbished monitor..and believe it or not i put it on my bed for a second...it fell...and it works perfectly...another thing, your OS..do you wanna bootleg, or get a regular OS with all the discs and shit? all the stuff i gave you came to $567.93 before shipping and $583.73 after shipping...

That stuff sounds really great and all. I'm so happy that I can actually get a computor. Oh, and lets just say my price limit is 1,000 dollars. Thats the most I want to spend if possible.

1,000 is WAY more than enough.

My brother's system turned out better than my current box and we only spent 550 on it.

That's awesome, I weant top of the line shit so that I can play many online games. I'm hoping for Guild Wars, Its so cool. I can't wait. I just need to make the money, and it's taking too long.

Oh, and how much would it be to add a flatscreen regular sized monitor, nothing to fancy.

I stopped giving free advice about computers (spelled with an "e" not "o") since I now do that as part of my business. So, unless we've got the $20 to $200 an hour I cost, no dice. Till then, I wish you luck on your computer building endeavor and urge to purchase a book on it just in case you have absolutely no idea what you're doing. Hopefully, your spelling doesn't reflect on your ability.

Go to ocforums.com and make a threadabout this under "General Hardware" for some good suggestions. I don't mean to insult xeogaming, but it isn't only about computers like the aforementioned website, and xeios needs to get a many suggestions as possible. About the computer, make sure you get a socket 939 sli-capable motherboard, or wait for Ati to release their crossfire boards. Right now, the best bang for your buck with a cpu would be the athlon 64 3200+, and for the video card, I would say the 6600GT. Get a 7200rpm hard drive with an 8mb cache and at least 80gb of storage, and get a cd burner that can also play, if not write to, dvds. Also, get a gb of ram pc3200 or better, with latencies of 2.5 or lower. Every other component in't as critical, and you could probably salvage a few from your other computer. If you could tell me your budget I might find the time to do a bit of research for you. (Guild Wars has a level cap of twenty, so I don't think you will end up playing it for more than a few months.)

Thanks Zabuza. I don't have the money for you to write down a list of parts that might go well with my computer.
I was more thinking a pci card, the best I could buy. And other than that, I'll take all of your suggestions into consideration. I might check out that site, but I'm not sure if I have the time.

Let's put it this way, if the numbers on everything besides the price are high, as far as I know it's good.

Get a geforce graphics card, and any type of very large hardrive(several if you want), and above all, get a good computer case.

Yea, a computor case is important, but hey, I could always figure out how to make it out of legos...

It would take a damn long time. And it would be complicated to make the power button and such...

Yea, I'll just buy a case.

Unless you want a nice melted pile of computer (IT'S SPELLED WITH AN "E" NOT A FREAKIN "O"...C-O-M-P-U-T-E-R!!), you probably shouldn't build one out of legos. Buy a case, and build/glue legos to the case...maybe, completely out of legos...not the best bet. Especially with the heat and cooling demands of computers.

Buy a case. They're actually quite cheap if you don't care about frills and other little unnecessary accessories. You can usually get a decent one for about $50 or less.

P.S., it's computer. Computer. Spell it with me, C O M P U T E R. It's an E, pronounced like an O, but isn't an O.

i was ripping myself inside about it too zabuza...cause its just annoying...dont know why but its with an E and always with an E...

i got my case without a power supply for 60 bucks...and its pretty nice...my CPU runs kinda hot sometimes...i need a 120 mm fan in the back and move that 80mm fan to the side window slot

Wow. I usually try for alternate methods of cooling along with fans just in case the CPU even tries to heat up. Water cooling, gel cooling, multiple fans, open areas where it's not exposed to heat, whatever you can do to keep the temperatures within the case pretty nominal should be good. And, if you're going gaming rig, you might as well invest in a nice cooling system; be it fans or liquid transfer methods.

I just built my first personal machine a few months ago(Been troubleshooting/bulding/fixing PC's for my CompTIA certs for awhile now). Very easy process, the hardest part is probly getting the best for your buck.

Go with Newegg, as they have great prices and pretty good service. Other than that I would reccomend reading hardware reviews and online guides, also definitely read all the documentation your hardware comes with.

I have 4x case fans and 2 on my power supply, im idling at 80 degrees farenheit, I have an AMD 3000+ processor.(Heat sensor is on my heatsink) so exact temp is a little off.
