Has anyone seen the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? I've been dying to see it and finally get to tomorrow, but I wanted to see what you guys though of it before I do.

I went & saw it opening day w/ Pockets, Elara, & Cyrus. Very funny movie, & I've never even read the books. But my ex used to answer "42" every time I asked him advice on something. So I got that part at least

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!

I laughed at time but they left out a bunch from the book and changed to much...

I was very annoyed and irritated.

I wish Douglas Adams was here to fix it...

Well Douglas Adams did write part of the script... John Malkovich's part actually from what I remember.

Anywho... I saw it, and I laughed my ass off at it. The whale was priceless... and I wanted to hug Marvin so badly. Poor robot. I think it might also be due to my minor obsession with Alan Rickman... gods he kicks ass, I just love his voice!

I actually heard it followed the book pretty well, but just kind of left out a few explanations.

Honestly, I thought it was a pretty good movie. Very random [for someone like me who hasn't read the books]. It wasn't the best movie in the world, but it was easily worth the money and I'd recommend it to other people.

I have read the book and the movie followed it pretty well. There were a few things changed but other than that they followed the book fairly well.

I've read the book as well and again I also thought that the movie followed it fairly closely. It was also frigging hilarious. It was well done cinematically, there was a lot of really great CGI and all in all it was a great film.

I say everyone should go see it and everyone should buy it on DVD when it comes out.

Thought it was funny, especially with all of the little jokes, more like brain candy, for the fans (ex: BBC version Marvin made a few appearances, Willow, etc).

Yeah, I've heard a lot of critics tear it apart even nearly a year ago when just the promotional towels were given out. To them I say whatever; it doesn't matter what they say if you enjoy it and are willing to form your own opinion of it.

I haven't read this but the movie is amazing so i'll plan on reading it. It had a very good sense of humor, was deep and simple at the same time, and a very unique idea of where we actually live in relation to everything else. I also really liked the ship they traveled on, the design of it was impressive.

I was wondering when I would be seeing a thread title with 42 in it I saw the movie, I wasn't going to but my friends dragged me along, I really enjoyed it actually

The jokes where hilarious, so many random jokes I loved the depressed robot, he was funny and my favourite bit was when they landed on the planet to save the girl and while they where walking across the field things kept on whacking them in the face cause they were thinking
