Wow, thanks for posting the trailer. I wasn't sure when this would be coming up.

I'd read the reviews and whatnot, and have been looking forward to it, but you know words and concept art just aren't the same.

Here is some more information about the movie. I got a flyer about it in the mail.

Academy Award- winning directore Hayao Miyazaki ("Spirited Away") takes moviegoers on an amazing new animated adventure. Brimming with a blend of imagination, humor, action, and romance, " Howl's Moving Castle" recently played to great acclaim at the 2004 Venice Film Festival, and has become one of the biggest blockbusters of all time in Japan.

A distinguished cast of actors, under the direction of Pixar's Pete Docter ("Monster, Inc."and co-direction of Rick Dempsey, lend their vocal talents to this English-language version of the film. Sopie (voiced by Emily Mortimer), an average teenage girl finds her life thrown into turmoil when she is literally sweot off her feet by a handsome-but-mysterious wizard named Howl (voiced by Christian Bale), and is subsequently turned into a 90-year old waoman (voiced by Jean Simmons) by the vain and coniving Wicked Witch of the Waste (voiced by Lauren Bacall). Embarking on an incredible oddyssey to lift the curse, Sophie finds refuge in Howl's magical moving castle. Extraordinary characters from the novel by Diana Wynne Jones, inventive imagery, and stunning artistry make this latest masterpiece from the visionary Miyazaki an unforgettable filmgoing experience.

Yes, you would be correct it's done by the same guy that did Spirited Away. It's in theatres right now if you want go see it. It's worth the money.

I saw Howl's Moving Castle at the El Capitan a couple of weeks ago. Very very good film. And, Howl is hott. Anyway, I have a bootleg version of it from Korea, in original Japanese, and a legal version of it imported from Japan in a Miyasaki box set. It played at the El Capitan as a premiere, but I don't know if it's still there.

I think it's nice that Disney decided to acquire the Miyasaki license, but some of the subtitles aren't exactly translated as they are supposed to be. I noticed that only after watching it again at home. Both on the legitimate and the bootleg. Oddly enough, the bootleg is better than the legitimate.
