Yeah, and I distinctly remember saying that before... Vulkar you really need to read the posts before you reply so you don't make a fool of yourself.

It's been two weeks since the tube has been removed, and dehydration has set in. Terri shouldn't live past next week if the estimate is correct. All I know is that I'll be glad when this macabre political circus is over with.

That's if Terri can survive...

I wonder if she could blink in Morse codes and as least tell us if she want to die or not...

But hell, I won't want to go through something like that. I mean, if she isn't improving day by day, then I would think it would be better for her to die... Don't get me wrong through, but if someone is stuck like that nearly a long time and haven't improve over time, it would be better for her to die...

Plus, it is as Elara said. This is becoming a personal issue to everyone. I didn't believe that the government are going to get involve with Terri Schiavo case, but they did. Now they are making a huge deal over it and making her a important "object" of all time. Give me a break.

Look, she haven't improve nearly for a long and long time. And if she isn't going to improve either, then why torturing her days? Why not get it over with? I rather would die instead remaining in that state forever. How do we know if she was suffering all of the time, wanting to have death instead?

Please, I just rather get this over with... If she haven't improve at all, it would better to see her dead. Death is part of our life cycle afterall. And if she survives, well, good for her.

This case is meaningful to everyone, yeah, and I do think she should be allowed to die. But, for the past couple of weeks, what has the media been focusing on? Mrs. Schavio. Remember how they used to say the daily amount of kills over in Iraq? The media and government are using this sad woman's tale as a scapegoat to hide what is really going on. I mean, why is she getting this much attention if this has been happenening for 15 years? THat's why the government is getting involved. And the right to die is a right every human inherits at birth. Just because two relatives want to keep her suspended on the line of life or death, doesn't justify the pain she has to suffer everyday. That's my opinion.

How many times must I repeat myself? SHE IS NOT IN A PERSISTANT VEGATATIVE STATE! SHE DOES NOT NEED LIFE SUPPORT!

Sorry, but on every forum, first people don't see the videos I point out, then they don't seem to understand her state. The media has been lying to you.

Then the whole debate wouldn't have happened if she didn't need it...

And besides, say whatever you want... she's still doing nothing of her life, not able to do anything. What's the point of living, when you can't do a thing about your life, and the odds are against your survival?

Uh, yeah-Vulkar, if she's not in a PVS, why does she need a feeding tube? Why can she not feel pain or hunger?

Uhm...Cairoi. I think you are getting a little paranoid...

The media and govenrment are two different things, and the media is mostly liberal, therefore wouldn't the media continue to try and make Bush out to be a bad president. Or did they realize It won't work because after every mdia station seemed to hate him he was still reelected...

Anyway, She definitly should be put to death in the most painless way possible. an dit should be quickly too...

According to Wikipedia:

A persistent vegetative state (or PVS), also known as cortical death, is a condition of patients with severe brain damage in whom coma has progressed to a state of "wakefulness without awareness".

________________________

Now, she is not in a coma. She is severly brain damaged, and if the husband would be willing to allow her to have treatment, she wouldn't even need a feeding tube.

A feeding tube is not considered life support, and that's all the needs. I know I'm mostly alone in this belief, but she should be allowed to live, be taught to walk, and to eat. Recently then I believe I heard (This is not fact, this is a rumor.) that they may be able to teach her to talk as well.

Should we kill someone with that much capability? I don't think so.

Have you guys seen the cat scans of her brain? Much of her brain which controls in a sense who a person IS and what they feel is filled with fluid.

Republicans need to stick with their original goals and stay the fuck out of people's lives.

Also, Why isn't anyone making a big fuss about the 6 year old who was pulled off life support in Texas as a DIRECT result of a law George W Bush helped pass when he was governor of Texas?

There is no way Terri could learn to walk or talk. She's been i nthis state for FIFTEEN YEARS! She's not getting better.

The parts of her braisn that allow her to feel hunger or pain are GONE. Even if the rest of her was to miraculously recover, it would be something like a cruel joke to send a person off into life unable to know when they're starving to death or putting their body in danger.

Yes, most of which the husband did not allow her to be taught.

Listen to all I say, the husband diallowed it, and if she's not allowed to learn, don't you think that would explain it?

Okay, let's put it this way; A child does not learn how to read until it is taught by its parents. It recognizes the symbols, it hears the adult read to it, but it does not learn to read until it has been taught.

Make since?

Actually, to has pretty much nothing to do with the current case.

It's not like she's forgotten these things, the part of the brain that takes care of that is damaged, which makes it nearly impossible to do a thing about it.

Oh, and Jin, "No." isn't a 'valid' post in this forum. Try to explain why you think so, please. It would make your post worthwhile.

Well, it appears another legal avenue for the parents has been terminated. I wonder when they'll start venturing into illegal avenues...

I just wish they'd let the poor woman die. There's no chance (to my knowledge) of her recovering and living a normal life, due to the brain damage. Yes, she could survive. But what kind of life would it be? And, as an added bonus, it'll end the media circus.

I considered putting more into the post but he asked a question, and I've answered it.

And yes, It's sad to see the state Jesse Jackson is currently in. =

She has less than a 1% chance of ever being more than a vegetable all her life.

Probably 0.00001% at best?

you know what i'm wondering? for a moment, let's suppose that there is a place where the dead go. now that she's been in this state for 15 years, when she passes on, won't her sprite be "retarded" or will it be like before all that bad thing happened to her? it's not as if we know, but i really do wonder... and if in fact you do cross as a "retarded" sprite, wouldnt religious people now allow people to die when they're in the same state as her, instead of trying to hang on to her life, and messing with her sprite? =/

This really depends on people's beliefs (mostly religious).

Alright, first off it is rude to call her "retarded," because she never was. What she had was a mental disability, but not a mental retardation. Anyway, I don't really believe in spirits but I guess hers would be perfectly normal because your spirit isn't attatched to your brain.
