I have heard and read so many different theory's of the Moon landing, their was even a documentary on tv here a few weeks ago, claiming that the landing was a fake.

I really don't know if it was fake or not, but I do question a lot of the things. What do you guys think of this?

I'm not even going to say I KNOW one way or another. But I really do think that it was faked.

Because consider this, we're more ready to go to mars right now than we were ready to go the moon back then and have been for a good while.

it's kind of funny. People who dismiss the evidence against the people who think it was funny allways say it's too out there and usually their replies to explain the inconsistencies are even more out there.

Yeah that is true, the technology has improved so much, that a trip to the moon would be a lot more safer and realist then back then. I can believe they sent satilighs into space, cause they would have been easier to get up their, but taking people up is another story.

People like to discredit stuff that sounds silly.

"The moon? Whar, that's summat like.....a bazillion miles away! Ah don't care if you've got the beiggest rockets ever, you couldn't possibly get up there!"

Well, I don'ts ee any good resons not to believe. Besides, the whole thing kind of seems stupid anyway. I'd rather debate something a bit more important.

They say space is the final frontier, but that's bullshit. There's so much we don't know about our own planet, especially underwater.

Yeah I have to agree with that last comment there. I've heard, numerous times on history channels, in school etc, that we know much more about space than what's under our Earth. Kind of sad ...

Honestly, if you look at technology today, yes I'd say it's 100% possible to land on the moon, and we probably have numerous times.

But back then? It's questionable. And the facts that are agains't it, are very true and questionable.

There's wind on the moon? Then why was the flag waving around?

That's about the only one I can really remember, but I remember seeing some episode of "Conspiracies" I think on TechTV a long time ago that made me question the fact if we did back then.

Theres more then likely a logical explination on the whole flag deal, and about that one mini clip of the "Arm blocking the Earth" deal.

Its probably something simple like teh Moon rotating just fast enough to cause a slight amount of friction in the moon's orbit to cause it to move.

And the miniclip is there was probably someone outside the spacecraft and his elbow went past the window, under a shadow, with the sun on the other side of their ship, but the Gov didn't let it out for the exact reason this thread was created.

There's logical reasons for it, but I don't believe "We never landed" to be one of them. I fully believe that we landed on the moon back then. There is absolutly no reason why anyone would have to lie about that.

Think about it. Why would the Gov lie about that? If we didn't land, who cares? That just ment we'd try again.

Edit: Just donned on me. The flag waving we probably because of the rockets of the spaceship as it was landing. Due to the fact there is virtually no gravity, the air generated from the landing jets probably caused a small current that lasted just long enough for the flag wave while the picture was taken.

Supposedly the reason for the flag waving was that the poles it was on were very flexible and in setting it up and putting it in the ground caused it to move, thus capturing the swaying of the fabric in the photo.

I personally don't know if we did back then or not... part of me believes it, part of me doesn't. I just tend not to dwell on it since I think we should be exploring our own planent more than our satellite or nearest celestial neighbor.

fox had a special on it... and we all know that fox doesnt lie... so anyways, there was that flag thing waving, the earth thing, and also the pictures they took. like for you photo ppl out there, on certain films, when you take a pic, there's those focusing black plus sign things. on one, or more pics, the plus sign was under the guy's body part, which will make one assume that the photos were doctored. and then there's argument about area 51 being the actual set of the entire landing, and why area 51 is all secretive, and how around area 51, there are rock formations that look similar to what you see on the moon landing.

Personally I have no idea what to think about the moon landing. I have never heard of any of these rumors you all are talking about. There is one thing I know that could support the fact that it was all staged. The U.S. is very competitive country and I wouldnt doubt that we staged the entire thing just to say to the rest of the world. "Hey yea we got here before you did. Suck that!" I dont know much but that might be a reason that we faked the landing. Then again maybe we actually have advanced enough to where we can land on the moon. I really dont know.

I don't really know (or care) about the whole fake moon landing thing...

I mean, what would it matter if it were fake?

Would the United States cease to exist???

In the end, does it really matter if it was faked or not?

In my opinion, not really.

I think, based on what I've heard that it is possible we landed on the moon, and most likely we did.

But here's a question.

Why does it matter if we did back then or not? Would it make any difference whatsoever in the world today if it turns out man did not really land on the moon with the Apollo 11 mission? (it was 11 right?)

*shrugs*

I don't really care. I'm just looking forwards to where we may go in the future. The bottom of the ocean or past pluto, who knows. It'll be interesting though.

Seriously.. I don't think the world will crumble if it turns out we didn't land on the moon. It
is just amazing that we have enough evidence to prove that we can do that sort of thing.

If it where fake and the US came out saying it was, then probably a lot of people will be angered, annoyed and some that don't really care, but it wouldn't last. But it would just go to show how far the US government would go to "outdo" other countries.

The Russians paraded about forty enormous missiles through the streets of one of their largest cities. I forget which one right now. It came out about fifteen years later that all but one of them were made out of card board and paper mache. No one cares. *shrugs*

That's not a very good example, because...well, it's a funny story about the Soviet Union. It crumbled, just like everyone is saying the US won't if the moon landings were faked!

what's everyone talking about? if it was fake, major consequences would happen in the world. the US would be the laughing stock of the entire world, and it would once again, add another straw to the camle's back for why everyone should hate the US. staging such a big hoax and tricking the world is no small matter. no one would ever trust us, and we would lose what little respect we have. millions of history books would be re-called, medals taken away, and a massive media shark attack from around the world would eat at us. you guys arent looking at the bigger picture. it's not about, so what if we made it or not, but the principle around it.

WHoa there is no wind on the moon. Because of the lack of a ozone layer, oxygen, and water.

The flag waved ONCE! and it was when it was lifted from a position parallel to the ground, to being vertical in a second. The quick movement could have jarred the flag out of place. Also, it could have been thrusters from the rocket that were slightly on at the time!

And if anyone wants to question anything about the moon landing, question how the thrusters, which if I am correct were using fire and fuel, burned with the lack of oxygen in space. Theoretically shouldn't they not have been able to burn?

Xeios, rockets come equipped with oxygen already inside of them to counteract the oxygenlessness of space.

Yes, but the oxygen inside of them is for the passengers, they wouldn't burn the oxygen people need to breath...Would they?
