anyways, magic: the gathering... weeks to learn all the terms, rules, ect... and, years to master.

magic: the gathering.... originally called mana clash, back in the early 90s, is here online for you to play for free with people from around the world... includes all cards ever printed, excluding unglued and unhinged for obvious reasons.

you too can now have apprentice, name of the program, and built/test your decks against players all around.
for info about the league or the mIRC chatrooms go to:
http://www.magic-league.com/
for apprentice go to:
http://www.magic-league.com/download/apprentice.php
for those who have DSL and are automatically walled (cannot host) or who cannot fix your walls go to:
and DL magic workstation
http://www.magic-league.com/download/magic_workstation.php

for more info, just pm me...

Well, I use Apprentice more for Pokemon, and even that's rare - just got that redownloaded yesterday... I suppose if someone wanted to play Magic with me, so long as I was on the right computer I wouldn't decline, but I'd need a rules refresher. Last time I played was... oh, about a year ago. Against my mother. Who I beat badly - she was using a preconstructed deck, I was using a slightly modified preconstructed deck. Mine was better.

Interesting side-note: I was gonna post something similar to this, but I had no clue which forum it'd go in.

I play occationally, not many magic players at LBCC anymore... and my decks suck anyway. I tend to go for black or green with red or white... rather rare that I use blue to be honest.

there are, you just have to know/find them =P let's see, my fav color is blue to be honest as blue has the answers to everything that you can possibly throw at them. so much disruption, and card advantage, as well as trickery by blue. though, i find now that most players only use blue to make counter decks, which i find offensive. i vowed that i shall never use counterspells ever again, except in my counter deck lol... but yes, every, excluding mono colored decks, i use are always splashed in with blue. i need to draw draw draw....

aside from that, i'm an expert at all colors. red, blue, green, white, black... not a color i cant use. type two is a great environment to play your skills. i play t1 irl, because t2 is all about who has money. i play t2 online because i have access to all the cards, so i'm on equal footing.

i've got dozens and dozens of decks, all cluttering my room and desk =/ i break up apart, but i find myself making more and more =/
honestly, i hate magic: the gathering. but i dunno why i play it =/ it's such a drug.

oh BTW, i was at frank and son yesterday, and you can still find booster boxes from $60+ so if ross wants to get them.... he can. the sell boosters from $2+ there. most of the type two boosters cost $2.25, cheap as hell, from the retailers here at amazing comics at $3.69 -.-' grrrRRR

avatar of law, you did NOT just say $3.69, did you?

I've seen boosters for $6 around here.

well that can depend on a lot of things. like which type of booster it is, and your retailer. if it's from a card shop, or a chain store, like target or walmart. card retailers usually sell them at $3, the offical price that it's been for over 10 years, or $3.69 because of the recent price boost. chain stores like target or walmart sell them for $3.89 because they come in those safe packaging thing. if yours cost $6, then it's prob from an older set, or maybe your retailer is just an idiot, or maybe because they're ignorant =/, or possibly greedy...

Well, it was Wal-Mart. Might have been an older booster, but I know how these Wal-Marts are - they don't hold on to older stuff. IIRC, the N64 games were completely gone a month after the Gamecube came out. Nevermind that they didn't have enough Gamecube games to fill the N64 shelves. =/

Then again, this wasn't particularly recently; I don't go card shopping very often, since A: No friends, that play or otherwise, and B: I can just play on Apprentice; doesn't feel the same, but I have immediate access to all the cards, and it's free.

the booster could've remained for a number of reason. it really just depends on the team leader of the toys department. like at a target, they still sell 7th edition boosters for $3.89 and 7th edition is fairly old. i dont think boosters ever sell over $4 anywhere, even at walmart, because walmart checks its prices from the company they get their stuff from, and hasbro owns wizards, so yeah =/ that's why i never buy things from chainstores.
