Yes, it's an egg.

Upon entering the bedroom of a house, you find Bill and Hilary dead, lying on the floor. Upon closer examination, you see that there are some pieces of glass and some water on the floor. You look around and examine the room, seeing that the only furniture present are the shelf and the bed. How in the world did Bill and Hilary die if their house is in a remote location, far away from everything except for a nearby railway track?

i think you need to explain this more clearer. this is either very unclear, or very obvious... with the pieces of glass and water, one would think they both took poison.
