Yeah, the third installment of the legendary Devil May Cry series as well as the prequel to Devil May Cry 1. Supposedly, the game will be released tomorrow and I honestly can't wait. I've always been a big fan of Dante and the DMC series and it seems that DMC3 will revive what DMC2 had destroyed.

For the unenlightened:

Dante will have the use of several different styles that will determine what moves he can and cannot make.

-Gunslinger
-Swordmaster
-Trickster
-Royal Guard
-Quicksilver
-Doppleganger

Dante will also have access to 4 different Devil arms and 4 different projectile weapons. Players will be able to change their weapons on the fly to unleash massive combos. From the reviews as of yet, it seems that DMC3 will be one of the hardest games this generation. Supposedly, it's harder than Ninja Gaiden! Wow, I can't wait!

It looks very awesome.

They say it's quite difficult, but I'm sure I'll love it, and I love difficult games. Some games that I've beaten that come to mind are Battletoads, Ninja Gaiden on Hard, Blaster Master, etc ...

My friend showed me the IGN video review today, and it just made me want the game even more. I haven't played the others, but I recently saw the first DMC up for sale for 8$ at my Local Gamestop, so I'll probably defininitely buy it, if it's still there hopefully ...

There's not a lot of action games that I find enjoyable these days, but there's just something about uppercutting an enemy into the air, shooting them 50 times while still in the air, and then slashing at them another 20 times, slamming them into the ground with a huge sword of some kind, then pulverising them with bullets while they're hopelessly jammed into the ground and can do absolutely nothing about it. Then move on to the next enemy.

It's awesome. The difficulty is challenging, but fun.

When using Dopplehanger mode, 2 player can control Dante's clone. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds very cool.

Dante still has his corny one liners every now and then. They're not to bad, but every now and then he'll say something that makes me groan.

The action is very fast paced, just like it's predecessors.

I have the first one and the game is just entetaining I think these games could possibly be out Ninja Gaiden definately the third one seeing trailers from it.

I hear the game is hard but hard can be a good thing. Check out the article I posted and just see how frustrating the game can be.

Rather than keeping me away, the difficulty level that I've been hearing so much about is actually drawing me into it, making me want to play it more and more. I have yet to get the game, but damnit, I plan to really soon.

I recently heard that there is actually a cheat code for DMC3. By imputting a certain button combination and then rotating either the left or right analog stick clockwise enough times, you can unlock everything at the very first level. Quite interesting...

I've allways had a strong dislike for un-original hack and slash games.

And to be completely honest, Devil Mary Cry is the epidemy of midnless hack and slashers.

Argh. This thread is suffering from some serious spam. Please have more detail when your post.

It's disagree that it's a mindless hack and slasher. You need stratedgy to survive in this game. Simply slamming the slash or shoot button will get you nowhere fast.

The story is better than the previous two, and the dialogue has been improved. (Though Dante still manages to say a corny line here and there.)

Street fighter and Dark stalkers are both fighting games, which is in a complete different genre. And you don't have to be skilled to do well in both those games. Fighting games are the easiest games to button mash in. Don't get me wrong, fighting games are my favorite.

The first level is the easiest. Button mashing is easy to do because the level consists of basic enemies. Guarantee you won't be able to beat level 2 on normal by just button smashing.

Trust me, there is strategy in Action games like these.

Try playing Ninja Gaiden: Ninja Master Tournament 2, with just going around and button mashing.

You will fail.

You have to know combos, you have to jumb around and dash around your enemey, maybe even run from them. You will have to know what weapon is good agains't "X" monster. You will have to know the enemies techniques and fighting styles (The cats? If you think you can just sit there and smack them around, you're dead. They'll grab you 50 times and back before you even touch the ground).

Ok, they're defininently not the most complicated games in the world, but if there's no skill required ... than how come so many people complain that games like these are hard?
