I think that once a week Staff should get together and pick a member of the week.

Could you be more specific than just saying that?

Okay, I think this would be a worse idea because some of us aren't that fully active and this may cause aggression between poster and people themselves. A person like me doesn't want the poster to think "Oh look at me, I am number 1. LOL, **ck you!"

I have to say that would the best the worst idea.

I think it'd be cool just to recognize someone who made a cool thread, or said something funny, or whatever. If there is concern over feuds we could have everyone vote if they wanted. If your not that active ..too bad.

Being inactive is not the problem.

I am just saying... you make it look like a race that someone want to deverse this completely. If let just say that Sparda have been the member of the week for 4 times in a row, you would make everyone look like they suck or feel worse.

A week goes by quickly, maybe member of the month. But what Beowulf said is quite true, and the last thing we need is peoples on here making remarks.

We also have a huge voting thingy near the end or start of the year, where a hole bunch of categories goes up and you can vote for who should win that position etc.

A member of the week isn't a bad idea. But it's unknown whether it'll work here. It may make people act better though, because choosing someone for this award would make the judges look at various aspects such as posts made, and more importantly, the quality of your posts. Helping others could be a factor to look at. You have a good idea, Makura, but would the staff really want to be tasked with that every week? They probably won't want to look at every single member and study them. Too much work, unless on person is assigned to watch over certain individuals. The annual awards are good enough to a lot of people.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I personally would watch out for something like this.

It's not a bad idea, but like Deesse said, I think just a week might be too hectic and would go by too fast, so member of the 'month' might be better.

Interesting idea.

Mr. Xeogred? Are you serious?

Listen, while I think this sound good but this would make everyone on the unfair advantage. I mean, hey, everytime I post, I put my own feeling into it but everyone care to reject it. And they get rewarded for doing that?

I just think this is a bad idea because this would make everyone try to be more post aggresive and try to earn it by "disrespecting" people's feeling. Beside, this would mean that everyone would think that this is a race to stardom and get their chance to act like they are superious.

Beside, most people here doesn't do much to speak honest truth anyway. Why hold this Member of the Month when there is not alot of people who post more of their own feeling and also not alot of people to respect the property of other people's feeling? Not only that but there are some who doesn't post alot of words and you are going to give them some credits for that?

I think this is a horrible idea.

Yes. I'm serious. Oh no?

Please take the depressing attitude somewhere else. Maybe that's why you 'believe' everyone 'rejects' your posts, because a lot of them are like that one. (above)...

Member of the month would solve two problems wiht my original idea. It would be easier to manage, for staff. It also would give peopel enough time to have a chance to get som recognition.

But that would separated those people from the members who are just going on abou tthe day. One's who are not greedy for fame and rewards are probably the best to receicve them. Let the people try for stardom. In the end it's how well they act. And if this does happened to become an event it's not like everyone will be trying to participate. Keeping it on the downlow will do less stimulation of the contest feel and put just about everybody's mind to not worry about it. If the contest holders don't make a big deal of it, then the members certainly won't.

Yep I agree Cyro, the less attention we draw to Member of the Month, the less people will "go crazy".

I really think this would be good, just something fun and new for people to get into and a sort of reconisation of what the member of the month has either done or achieved here.

Before someone closes this, allow me to play the world's smallest violin for Beowulf.

Grow up, Just because people on a forum like this don't hail you as king of the fucking world doesn't mean you should trounce on anyone's ideas in the manner you have done in this thread.

Maybe it's not the fact we're rejecting your posts, Maybe you just need to change the attitude in which you post them.

I dont really mind Beo. So his idea's are kinda what some people consider crazy. But without him we'd have no opposing force and if there was only one side we'd be boring. BUt yeah im kidna in between this would tend to draw more spammy posts. But if i were to make a choice i'd probablly try it out at first and if things get out of hand get rid of it.

I say we give that member admin powers for a month.

What? Are you crazy

But honestly, I don't think that it's a good idea. Unless there's some rules to it, or something. But the good side would be that some would try and post more carefully (thus making nicer posts)

Yeah, the problem I see is it could create spam, but that's basically the only bad thing I see ... other than this being hectic.

I'm personally glad that Beowulf disagrees so strongly or else this thread would be boring. Thanks for making it interesting.

Heh, no problem. One thing I am good at is being a stubborn rebel who make thing have worth a while to listen. RAWR!

Well, I alway have a strong and honest opinion that I let out every now and then. If it is something I disagree, I will kept on fighting until I am pleased. If I agree, then I would still do the same as I disagree. However, I have to listen to people in order to understand their feeling just before I agree/disagree in respect.

Why?

It would be too stupid just have a bunch of yes-man and yes-woman. So this would have to put as least ONE HONEST person in the last line of defense. Since not alot of people does this well, I thought maybe it would easier for me to do it. Heck, not alot of honest people have the courage to speak on their own free will.

And not alot of people listen to me, so they might not live longer. (Just kidding.)
