I've told many people, "Don't buy a Compaq." And, they do. I told my cousins, and they all have one. I told my neighbor, and he has one. I told my fag hag cousin, and she has an HP, so it's okay.

So, I have a cousin's cousin's Comcrap sitting in my bedroom because the sucky parts inside have slowed down to crap beyond compare, and was wondering how many people owned the same (or similar) sucky crap box that I have to fix.

Basically, this is to humor me so I don't commit some major crime somewhere. I'm trying to reform, and not endulge Zabuza.

SPAM!!!

Anyway, yeah, I chose other because I haven't built my beast yet (so to speak) since it's still sitting in pieces randomly scattered throughout my house and car. I have chose other because I've got laptops now instead of the desktops.

I have a Tandy 1000 RLX (33MHz...it's old), a CTX EzBook 760 MS-XJ (166MHz w/MMX...it's old too), and a Panasonic Toughbook CF-27 (500 MHz PIII...it's still kind of new). I really just don't care much for a desktop machine right now. I think I'll just concentrate on building my server when I have the time. Safeguarding and crap so that fucking little script kiddies don't try to do damage they can't possibly understand.

Note: we may be hearing about this from me for a long long long long time.

Custom Built, its nearing 2 years old. Needs a better graphics card, and maybe a better processor. Yeah its good though, runs quite well. Half Life 2 has great graphics on it, but they could be a lot better.

*Sighs* Sadly I have a compcrap! You warned me and I warned my parents...they didn't listen. Arg. Well right now it's fine, which worries me a bit. Lately I've been on my HP laptop, so I can manage.

Ok as far as I know Dell and Gateway make good cheap Desktops and Labtops. I myself have looked into makeing a Desktop and come to find out that unless I make a UBER comp that Dell and Gateway sell theres for the same amount if not cheaper. So as it turns out building a Desktop from scratch is no longer cheaper than a prebuilt machine and the prebuilt is alot easyer for most since it is a pain to build your own. As for labtops IBM still has the market as far as I am conserned with there Thinkpad Series. Though there labtops aren't the uber best they are good machines that are afordable. If you are talking good high end Desktops I think Falcon Northwest, makes good machines. "Thats all I got to say about that" Forest gump, it isn't really but I have wanted to use that quote for a while now.

The only way I'd ever buy a Dell was if I still worked for the government, because then we got a discount and military edition Win XP Pro.

And, and the one who declared he had two computers...a comcrap and a compaq...there's a correction to be made...you have two computers...both comcraps.

I own a Compaq myself, haven't really had problems with it except for my old CD burner (it's working again thanks to new drivers for it), and that wasn't because of the make of PC. Sure I'd love to have a Dell or something fancy, but I have my system mainly as a gaming rig (emulation capitol) and that's pretty much what I use it for. Plus considering the fact I would have paid only $295 for this beast (but thanks to revolving credit accounts and putting a new warranty on this 3 year old machine, 3 in June that is, I'll have it paid by 2010. Revolving account also has a brand new 27 in screen TV and a DVD player on it) I'd say this little Compaq has paid off in a huge way. No matter what PC you get sometimes you'll just have a hunk of junk, other times a treasure, it's just the luck of the draw.

As for Win XP, meh it's both good and bad, bad for security holes, and for running DOS based games, good because it's all I have and it has served it's purpose.

Heh heh, well I was dating Zabuza at the time I got my Comcrap... we BOTH told my parents not to buy one, but did they listen? No.

I don't touch it now unless I have to. Sure, my laptop is an HP (pavilion ze4800), but at least it's a 2003 and refurbished so it should have some of the crap wrong with it fixed by now. It's a hell of a lot better than our 5 year old desktop, that's for damn sure... even though the built-in mouse thingy is all but totally fucked up now. All hail the USB mouse!

Again, no compaqs, no hps. Sadly, Toshiba is started to head towards that route as well. From now on, only laptop I shall ever purchase are Panasonic Toughbooks. And desktops shall have to be built...no more buying crap anywhere.

Umm....I thought HP took over comcrap... Well the best way to go is to build your own PC unless you want a laptop or your an idiot. With the proper amount of research and caution building a PC is very easy and IT IS ALOT CHEAPER than buying a dell of the same make(at least in my experience it has been).Besides when you build your own PC you can totally customize it to your needs and budget.

I just recently built my first machine and im never buying a prebuilt from any company again, the only exception would be a server (thats actually used alot) considering all the warrantys and down time compensation you can get.
