It's chilly again.

I just want summer to be here!

That's what happened on Saturday here as well. It should be fairly obvious thanks to the radar image I posted. Rained for 9 hours straight I think with thunderstorms coming in at 2 PM to back the rain that was already falling. I also heard parts of Kansas got snow during the weekend, did you get anything Xeoman?

I would love some rain. Problem is, it would probably only rain for five minutes and then get super hot again, but with the added bonus of being HUMID.

It was so terribly hot and dusty at faire yesterday. Got dehydrated.

Severe storms today! Enhanced risk for the area right now. Tornado watch out until 11 PM

EDIT: Uh oh, Tornado sirens are going off, BRB.

EDIT 2: We did get some severe weather yesterday in the area. You can read more about what hit my area here It gives a brief rundown of what happened and also has some radar shots courtesy of KWQC TV 6 News to show just how powerful these storms are. If you guys want to see storm-related photos, I can link you to the KWQC facebook page. You know it's not good when the news people are joking and saying "Is that snow on the ground?" because of how much hail fell.

It's getting hot here, and we're supposedly in for a heatwave. Nothing shocking there, it's just a bummer. June gloom is over.

It rained a tiny bit over the weekend after several days of seeming like it was going to.

It's hot here too. Had the heat since Saturday. Could be severe weather today but we'll see. You know it's hot when it's 80 degrees at 3 in the morning.

I'm currently in Phoenix. The temperature is 113 degrees F, which is lower compared with the average of 125 degrees. The worst we saw the thermostat today was 119.

Good lord, you're not even safe in the shade.

Definitely got some sun today hanging out with family for some 4th of July celebration. Hope I didn't get any bad bug bites.

Brandon and I were at Fort MacArthur for all the battle re-enactments and historically dressed people in their camps.

At 11 in the morning, a medic set a boy with heat exhaustion down next to us. I happened to have a parasol and asked if they needed shade. The medic was grateful for it. Anyway, the boy was delirious and when the medic asked for water from the other people around him, I happened to have a big bottle that Brandon and I were using. So they doused the boy and kept him in my shade for when the doctor came. They mentioned they already had several heat casualties that morning.

As the day wore on, I ended up getting really dehydrated and exhausted myself. It was about 90 degrees and 60% humid. We Southern Californians are not acclimated for humidity. It literally destroys us.

The event had ONE place that was selling water, and at $2 for these small bottles at that. I got desperate near the end, especially since this booth with the water was up a big hill and I was so tired. We get there and there's a big line and some people were cutting ahead because they recognized people towards the front of it.

Yeah, it sucked.

My post got eaten, so let's try this again. Guess I'll just need to make a note to copy and paste my posts from now on.

-----

I think I know the day you were talking about, actually. I live in Southern California, but I was raised in Pennsylvania, and raised in New England, where it's super humid all the time. I'm actually acclimated for it, and that day was miserable.

I love the weather out here, because it's always dry.

But when you get those super humid days, it's just the worst thing, especially factoring in the heat.

Hitting those 100's lately.

I'm so thankful to have a better Honda Civic that has working AC this year! Went about 3 years with a BLACK Civic that had no AC... I don't know how I did it. Also thankful that my new apartment AC is being pushed to the limits and doing good. Nice and cool in here.

It's been stupid humid lately. Last week it was in the 80s, but felt like 90s because of the humidity being 85%.

We don't DO humidity here.

Heavy rain and showers earlier on yesterday. Kinda ironic as we went to a garden centre.

So it's not just me and is this year completely insane with the humidity? I can't tell if it's my new apartment or what, but yeah. I have two dehumidifiers in my room trying to keep it under control and it's tolerable, but still bad.

My face and skin hasn't been looking too good lately too because of it probably.

We're going through freezing mornings that burn off into hot days.

So many of my clients are coming in wearing sweatshirts as their shirt with a jacket on top. I can get them to shed the jacket, but they're stuck with the sweatshirt and it's freaking scorching out.

We finally had a day of rain that lasted throughout. Not just 10 minutes and then blaring sunshine and annoying humidity.

Took long enough. Up to this point you wouldn't know it was winter. We've been having a lot of 80-degree days.

Problem with the rain is our car went into a skid a few times on our way to dropping me off for work.

It's been so long without rain that there's so much oil is coming to the surface and causing cars to spin out.

We were subzero for about a week, then up to 55, then back down to the teens.

Fuck this shit.

We've literally had less than a week's worth of days that would be considered "winter-like" for SoCal. While that might sound great for others, it's been HOT so many days and I'm worried we're in for another drought.

Update to that last post: Yup, we're back in drought.

The past week's weather has been strange in SoCal. It's been raining off and on, but then it'll be hot in between.

I just spent the weekend in Arizona. It'll be hot during the day, but then freezing at night, which is typical for a dry desert. No rain at all, which was perfect, but yeah, dress really warm when the sun goes down.
