Just got home from a friend's baby shower. My god, I was yawning my face off and ready for bed at 7:30. The couple and I were joking about how we're so old and tired while our elders were still blasting music and drinking and would be well into the night.

The only thing that makes me feel better when I am super tired that early is reminding myself that others probably got more sleep than I do. I was passing out at like 8pm last night, but I had only gotten like 5 hours of sleep the night before.

I pass out around 10 with the TV on most nights. Bran and I have a system. I have to go to bed before him, because his snoring would prevent me from falling asleep. So he looks at porn or whatever at ungodly hours, then eventually crawls into bed.

Though we've got the alarm set for 6:15 for me, I wake up at times like 4:15, 3:33, 5:45 (not enough time to fall back asleep before the alarm, so I end up just getting up at that point), and MAAAAAAYBE get some more sleep before I absolutely have to get up.

Stressful nights I wake up more frequently and then remember there's something bothering me and I can barely sleep at all. Most recently this was over my "lack" of health coverage. I'd gotten a letter from my health plan saying my work requested my coverage be terminated. I had recently switched from the high plan to the low plan because the price for coverage was going to go up to $140 per paycheck from the $87 I was paying, but I didn't ask for my coverage to be completely WIPED. Called the HMO and was told I had NOTHING with them. Called my HR person who's never available and doesn't return calls. Anyway, it was EVENTUALLY sorted out, but I wasn't getting much sleep.

Go you, sir!

Meanwhile I'm going Hulk on a company spare van's door because this broken, jagged armrest kept poking one of my clients. In the end our head of motorpool thought it was funny, said the door was safer now, then climbed in the van and drove off.

I'm going through extreme burn-out with work. I'm just too tired of a lot of the bullshit that goes on there. I need another job. I feel so lost because I still don't know what to do with my life.

On a more positive note, my taxes have been e-filed and I bought my WonderCon badges.

I have something of a spare moment before the day kicks into high stress. We'll talk about it later, but I'm hoping it'll be a non-issue. Don't worry, it's not health-related or anything.

Heading out to Arizona later this week to see Brandon's family and go to the renaissance faire, pending that Bran's car will make it. It's been having issues again, even after his mechanic went through it and fixed several of the issues for free after we just bought a newer engine to replace the original that was in there. It's driving fine now, but its idle is really ragged again.

I really need some time away from work, particularly doing fun shit that distracts me from it.

Lots of overtime lately, my roommate still hasn't found a place, and the stress of moving in a few weeks has been boiling up. Phew! Crazy times.

Yeah, you're telling me.

So he's still with you? If he doesn't find a place is he going to end up at your new one?

We had a meeting at a wedding venue yesterday that we're very serious about acquiring. It's just that there's a lot of competition to get them. Even though we're a 2018 wedding, the meeting yesterday had A LOT of people there who were also planning their 2018 weddings/events. We stuck to the end and submitted our application right then and we saw her circle our day which had no one else marked for it. We're not out of the woods yet. Apparently, the way it works is that if someone who submitted their application before us decides they want our date instead, THEY GET PRIORITY TO IT. WTF?!?!?! Yeah, I'm still a little stressed.

On another note, though, the ranger we submitted our app to was impressed we had the typed up page of intentions that's supposed to go with applications.

Nope... I already signed a one bedroom apartment and all. Out of my hands. He's been that friend that's kind of latched on too much over the last decade or so. It got to the point where people were group texting us and we had mostly the same circle of friends. I am so ready to break free and have my own space and life again. lol

Not like I'd allow him to end up on the streets or anything crazy, but his dad has a place he could move in with if he doesn't find anything.

Wedding's don't sound fun at all.

The planning of them can be stressful, but I sure love attending them. Even if the bride seems to be upset that I'm there at all, like the last one we attended.

Yeah, there was a reason I was able to be talked into a courthouse wedding, even though it wasn't what I really wanted.

Early planning has begun on Operation: Escape to LA... mostly in research phase right now.

Not really. I get excited when my area gets mentioned on national TV or somewhere else I'd least expect it (Hint: FORTE.EXE on Acmlmboards I3 archive accessible using acmlm.kafuka.org/archive3 that url Just use a ctrl+f (or whatever your keyboard code for the search thing is) and type in FORTE.EXE when your in the memberlist and you can find some info about my area there just by some of his posts but there is a lot) or if someone mentions a product/place from my area. since it does not make national news or any other national place (such as Acmlm boards) often. I'm not sure if you've seen it or not, but there was a Purina dog chow commercial that aired last week and the ending of it said "And I'm Brian (or Bryan) from Davenport Iowa" which is where FORTE.EXE lives and is right across the river from me making it a 10-20 minute drive over there.

Go you, Xeo! Hope they don't hinder you too badly.

I'm broke, but we're at least a little productive. Cats have on their flea medicine, anniversary trip plane tickets purchased, rental car booked, air conditioner bought and installed, and we finally got the ratty old chair out of the room and onto the curb.

We've got such a moth problem in our room, though. Bought containers and cedar to keep the things I definitely want to keep them from eating (scarves, gloves, dresses, etc.) Eventually I need to clean out the closet and get some cedar liners.

WonderCon was this weekend. It was fun, but it's turning into a collection of the worst aspects of Comic-Con on a smaller scale and less pay-off. I got into the arena to watch the "Wonder Woman" exclusive clips, but wasn't able to get into anything else -- not that I wanted to see much else; I just wanted to sit down. No other panels were particularly interesting, but there were absurd lines for EVERYTHING.

Stepped away from the con on Sunday morning to bring in the check for our deposit for our wedding venue. Apparently three other couples wanted our date, so we were making sure to lock it in.

On the opposite side of the wedding planning, I had a rather awkward and negative experience with the people we were planning on making our wedding clothes. They had a booth at WonderCon and when I went to talk to the same guy I spoke with at Gallifrey, he acted rather shitty toward me as I was asking about customizations to the items they already have. I've decided that I won't be talking with him and that Bran will just be the one to go through in the future. It was one of those rare times, in these days, that I didn't have Bran with me (he was working), so I approached alone. After the interaction, my social anxiety kicked in and I felt like I was going to cry.
