Dude, I just got back from seeing it at the drive-in. Goddamn that was outstanding.

Yes, it blew my mind. And it's so damn cool it's been the same director, from 1979 to 2015, that's just amazing. It was so different than anything else out of the last decade.

Fuck yes, off to see it again tonight. This time in IMAX 3D.

REALLY looking forward to getting a better look at all those glorious details and things I couldn't see so well through a windshield, and far from the screen (the new drive-in has rules against SUVs and trucks being parked in the first five rows. Goddamn bummer).

And yeah, I really can't agree more. This is the first time I've seen a film from a returning franchise that was that fucking good. We all know "Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" was shit. the "Star Wars" prequels were... well, shit (I'm probably the only person not wetting themselves with glee over the upcoming sequels). And "Terminator: Genysis" is not looking too hot as far as Brandon and I are concerned.

This "Mad Max" is just so kick-ass. Great, practical effects. Amazing stunts. Most of it isn't CG, AT ALL. And the fact that the real hero is Furiosa, with Max sort of just being there like a consultant, isn't too shabby either.

By the way, have you heard the theory that the Max in this movie is actually the feral kid from "Road Warrior" calling himself Max and emulating Mel Gibson?

Haven't heard that theory, but I kind of like it.

I rewatched Road Warrior again and it holds up very well, I love it. Thunderdome... first half is great, but then yeah it kind of loses me haha. I don't hate it though, but it's definitely average. I do like that it was going for more world building, but it felt like it wanted to be a trilogy and knew it didn't have the time.

This new one is probably my favorite though, I'd love to see it again.

I agree, Terminator Genysis is looking pretty embarrassing in comparison.

I'm worried about Jurassic World by the way, the trailers make it look so over the top and action packed. Where's the sense of adventure and horror that the original had?

OK, Brandon and I saw it in IMAX 3D at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

HOLY. SHIT.

"Fury Road" is so perfect. For me, it's up there in visuals with "The Fall."

As for "Jurassic World" .... I'll still see it no matter what. Are the raptors fighting on his side? All the shots I've seen, he's riding along with them on the motorcycle.

Either way, it's GOT TO BE better than "Lost World" was. I didn't hate III as much as others seem to, but the first is un-fucking-touchable. I was the right age when I saw that, and it'll always be near and dear to my heart.

Always seems to be a weird divide between JP2 and JP3. I like JP2 myself (Jeff Goldblum!) but no denying the raptor gymnastics fighting is insanely bad and the whole city part at the end is just terrible (I heard that's not in the books thankfully).

Yes, the raptors in the new one have apparently been "trained". Eh...

The big issue that I have with JW is that they created a hybrid as a new awesome attraction that goes bad. You have brought back fucking dinosaurs! Why do you need to create a hybrid?!

But yeah, I was skeptical of trained raptors, but some of the bits of trailer I have seen kinda explain it, and I am willing to give it a shot.

Yeah it doesn't seem very consistent. Supposedly this movie is going to retcon JP2-3... but still, the first one happened, a theme park idea went completely wrong, a T-Rex ate people, and who knows what happened to the island afterwards. I guess they'll explain it in JW... but still, it's like they're trying to go with logic on some bits and others not so much? lol

Brandon and I went and saw "Terminator: Genisys" and it actually didn't suck. In fact, Brandon thinks it's the best movie since T2. I may be inclined to agree.

Yeah, I really loved how they were able to blend and recreate scenes from the original into the movie without it feeling forced. Not 100% happy with the actors they chose for Reese and John, but overall, I loved the film. Pops was just awesome.

Can't be hard to beat Salvation haha. I thought that one also had Christian Bale's worst performance, he was either yelling or whispering. It was so bad.

Just wrapped up the Angry Videogame Nerd Movie... as a huge fan I couldn't help but like it. lol, could have been trimmed a bit though.

Saw Ant Man last week. Much like Guardians of the Galaxy, it was hilarious and I greatly enjoyed it. I wasn't totally happy that they didn't go with Pym as Ant Man, but I thought that they did a good job overall.

Anyone else think that Michael Douglass was really wishing they could de-age him like that in real life?

I might give "Ant Man" a shot in the cheap theater, especially since I've been waiting years for it.

I don't know why, but I just don't feel Marvel these days. Possibly because there's just too much now, they've gone too mainstream, and they've been stringing along the whole Thanos storyline for way too long while Fox is bing-bang-booming with Apocalypse after announcing him in 2013.

And that's another thing. I can't stand that the comics are just retconning shit to match up the "official" back stories and such with their movies. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are suddenly NOT mutants and NOT Magneto's kids? They're just people who were experimented on? Screw it. "X-Men: Days of Future" at least hinted that was right and pretty much just made it so X3 didn't happen. What's more the X movies don't even bother with gratuitous Stan Lee cameos any more. Win!

Hate to take my ire out on Ant Man, but I'm already iffy considering how much they were screwing with Edgar Wright.

Went and saw "Spy" last night in the cheap theater. It was pretty funny, didn't suck, passed the Bechdel test, and addressed many of the things I deal with every fucking day as a fat chick. Why do people always ask ME for directions when they don't give me a passing glance otherwise?

I kinda get the oversaturation thing, but at the same time I enjoy the movies so I don't complain too much. I do think the changing of backstories is bullshit, though.

Last thing I watched was Terminator Genisys.

As you'd expect I liked it quite much. The critics are pricks. Action movies aren't 'for' a proper storyline in particular, get over it! Just because T2 was the best one ever doesn't mean shit on the ones after it! T3 and T4 are shite in comparison to Genisys, and the other two.

Cheaper in the local cinema than vue, of course.
(also why is my layout not showing at all, I do know my backgrounds are broken anyway but the actual layout doesn't work)

Better than 3 and 4 is all I wanted. I'm still a big Arnie fan, so I'll have to check that one out sometime.
