There is so much good TV on these days. Holy crap.
Just finished watching the latest episode of Boardwalk Empire, am in the middle of streaming Game of Thrones, and I'm about to start into the season premiere of Walking Dead and the latest episode ofHung. And then there's House tonight. If only Mad Men could start up again soon. Seriously, this era is AWESOME. Getting to watch whatever you want, whenever you want, using your computer? And I can just go outside whenever I want?! YESS! |

I'm finally caught up with Boardwalk Empire and Dragon Age: Redemption. Still need to stream House, Walking Dead, Hung, and anything else I might have missed in the last two weeks.
Right now watching a documentary on Sedona, which is just making me feel homesick for Arizona, which isn't REALLY my home, but I visit Sedona every winter and which I probably won't see this year. (Last edited by Rogue on 11-08-11 10:11 AM) |

So many shows that I am watching and I don't even know how they all snuck up on me... but when you have one or two days to catch up on all your shows you really notice how many you watch.
Anywho, in addition to Berserk and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine on Netfilx, I have been watching the following: Dexter Parks & Rec Bones Shakugan no Shana Final Terra Nova Modern Family House Burn Notice |

I know, right? I've never seen so many engrossing shows.
Well, it's 7:30 in the morning. I haven't gone to sleep yet. I'm watching The Conspirator, which I picked up at the library yesterday. I wasn't planning on watching it until today, figuring I didn't want to get into it until I've gotten some sleep and watched it was a clear mind, but yeah.. I got bored. Anyway, the movie's about the trial of the lone accused woman conspirator in the plot to assassinate Lincoln and other Union officials, directed by Robert Redford. It's damn good so far. I'd been wanting to see it since before it came out, but I never had money to when it finally came to theaters close by, and it never hit the cheap theater. |

Just finished watching "The Axis of Evil Comedy Tour" on DVD from my library. Like "Kings of Comedy," "Latin Kings of Comedy," "Kims of Comedy," and "Blue Collar Comedy Tour," it's a bunch of comedians from a particular ethnic group doing bits on being a part of said culture. In this case, it was comics of Iranian and Palestinian descent (I think one or two of them might have been Egyptian, but they were all generally Middle Eastern in background).
While the first guy wasn't all that funny with all of his jokes pretty much being, "Man, it sucks being Middle Eastern in a post-9/11 America. Everyone thinks I'm a terrorist. Badum-bum-chhh!!" and that's it. Some of it was a bit uncomfortable, especially when they would show the audience and people aren't laughing. However, the other guys were much funnier and pulled some great observations, some of them were pretty ballsy. Here's one of the ballsier, funnier guys, Ahmed Ahmed: I really identified with a lot of what this one guy was talking about regarding Middle Easterners hating Americans but loving McDonald's, Starbucks, Snickers, and Coca-Cola, and remarking on how when he climbed Mount Sinai he's getting accosted by Egyptian kids wanting him to buy things (oh my God, do I understand that after my trip to Egypt, which by the way, has T.G.I. Fridays). This has actually been really fascinating, especially having visited places like Israel and Palestine recently. Here's that guy, Aron Kader: Anyway, it's nice hearing the perspective of this group, though it was rather annoying having each of the comedians do this bit before they walked out on stage for their set having to walk through a metal detector and get frisked by a large African-American woman as a "TSA agent," speaking in stereotype ebonics. EDIT: Just for shits, here's another of the guys, Maz Jobrani: (Last edited by Rogue on 11-15-11 02:12 PM) |

Watched the first season of Hell on Wheels all the way through, even caught the last episode as it aired for the first time on Sunday night.
I'm finally starting into Carnivale, which I've been wanting to see since I first heard about it back in 2003. I just never had cable or a method of streaming it. So far so good. One of my interests is circus sideshows, and there are plenty of them in there. |

Been watching Carnivale, which is fairly enigmatic and this concerns me since there's only been two seasons and I wonder if they answer everything by the end or if they were canceled before they could do all that. I'm determined to not look up if that's what happened since I'd rather be completely surprised.
Not sure what show I'll start into once I'm done with it. Brandon says Breaking Bad, but soon we're also finally getting into new episodes of shows we're watching like House and Mad Men (FINALLY!). And Walking Dead, I guess. |

Finally working our way through The Borgias.
Right now I'm actually watching the newest episode of House. It's almost over, so let's see if House has another last minute epiphany. I've also been watching Ink Master (mostly to see if anyone makes any bone-headed permanent mistakes on their "human canvas") and RuPaul's Drag Race (because it's fucking fierce ). I should really watch last night's episode of Walking Dead, and I'm gearing up for the return of Mad Men and Game of Thrones. Eeeeeee!! |

Watching the newest episode of Walking Dead. Yep, I still hate most of the characters, most especially Lori. Worst character in any show I've ever seen.
Still, it's better than last season. |

I've noticed that they have kinda toned down the last-minute epiphany thing on House.
We started watching The Finder, which is a spin-off from Bones in the absolute minimum sense of the word... it's... interesting, but I don't really think I can say I definitively like it just yet. |

Watching the new episode of Walking Dead right now.
Lately, I've had something on every night of the week (except Friday and Saturday) that I'm watching. Sunday - Walking Dead. Depending if I'm up to it, also The Simpsons or Family Guy. When they're in season, I'll also watch Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men, and Game of Thrones on Sunday nights. Monday - RuPaul's Drag Race on LOGO, plus Drag Race: Untucked. Tuesday - I was watching Ink Master on Spike, but that's ended. Might end up going back to Storage Wars. Wednesday - Face Off on SyFy. Thursday - Big Bang Theory. I'm not stuck here watching TV night after night. I'll stream all these if something good's going on. Since I'm not watching my grandmother any more, I just might leave the house again. Originally posted by Phoenixocracy The few times I tried watching it I just couldn't get into it. Similar situation with Scrubs and most other sitcoms these days. Anyway, I've been watching the news for the last hour and came across a story on why the local county fair discontinued their elephant rides, showing clips from this video of the company Have Trunk Will Travel abusing their elephants with hooked sticks and tasers. After watching the video all the way through, I can't help but scream about how much these people lied to the city council saying they NEVER abuse their animals. These people also provide elephants for movies like Water for Elephants and George of the Jungle. I can't fucking believe this shit we, as a species, are making these animals do for entertainment. Fucking hell. |

Watching Hatfields & McCoys, a 3 episode mini-series on the History Channel covering, you guessed it, the famous blood feud of the Kentucky McCoys and the West Virginian Hatfields.
It's a bit over-dramatized, but it's quite good. Each episode is 2 hours long, starring people like Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton. |

Watching this 1950s musical, Jupiter's Darling. Figures they'd have Howard Keel being the handsome lead who gets the girl.
Pretty nice underwater sequence. |

Gonna be honest, I think Prometheus was a bit of a disappointment. Not bad, but not anything that I think will stand the test of time as Ridley Scott's other classics have.

I've been hearing that about Prometheus. I thought it looked cool at first, but then got sick of the ads like you wouldn't believe.
Finished watching Pineapple Express. It was on FX with the bad dubbing over swear words. They kept calling each other "casserole" when they meant "asshole." It was all right, though I'm not a huge fan of drug movies. |

Am I really the only one that enjoyed Prometheus? I think it's the best movie I've seen in a long time, and I like it as much as I like Alien, which has been one of my favourites since I was but a wee lad.

Nowhere near the level of Alien for me, but the more I think about it, the more I like it.
Major spoilers, but this is a good read. With that said, it's apparent a lot of the same themes that are in this are in Blade Runner... which is just on a whole new level. I rewatched it last night, the Final Cut, and it just seriously might be my favorite movie of all time. I can't believe how good both it and Alien look in BD. It also helps that they're not really held down by many weird cultural elements of the past... maybe aside from some hairstyles and stuff here and there, but in general I think these are some of the most timeless movies ever made. I can imagine Prometheus could get better with rewatches though, like most of Scott's classics. That and I hope when it lands on the streets we'll get a lot of extended scenes or something. |

Finally watched the season finale of Metalocalypse. I fucking hate these 11 minute episodes. They must be longer!
So the bigger picture is finally falling into place regarding the people who are constantly monitoring Dethklok, why they're such a huge influence on the world, etc. Seriously, it was a great season. |
