Probably Treasure Island same as you did... maybe Stevenson's other novels as well. Or maybe To Kill a Mockingbird. Now, if the kid was a nerd and I knew it, then I'd get more fantasy things like Lord of the Rings or Dragons of Autumn Twilight (the first Dragonlance book).

None that I know of, and I feel rather fortunate about it.

Cheating, extreme possessiveness, or physical abuse. I can put up with a lot of things, but those cross the line.

Definitely. Same could be said of non-fat milk. It's pretty much white water, but hey, makes no difference when you have it with cereal.

Ooh, that is a tough question!

alcohol-wise it is a close call between the Rocktoberfest from the Long Beach Rockbottom Brewery and the midori sour.

Coffee-wise: hazelnut mocha, hot or ice-blended. Best thing ever.

Otherwise: Orange juice... so many uses and such a good taste... usually.

... I'm gonna go have some orange juice now.

Worst would probably be some time when I was a kid and sick. Seemed like it was always worse when I was younger. Whenever I spoke or smiled, my lips would bleed to the point that they sometimes drip onto my chin.

That is a really hard question for me since I never really pay attention to the artists, just go "Oooh, pretty!"

I think though, that the artist that has stood out most to me over the years has been Otto Dix. He was a German expressionist during the post WWI years. I came across his work while I was researching for a paper on the Weimar Republic and I felt that he captured perfectly the wounded aspect of society... it's hard to put into words, but when I look at his work I can see the horror that he went through and how it affected him and shaped his views, and how he and many others viewed the decadence of the 1920s afterward. He has so many paintings of wounded vets lying in the streets begging while flappers walk by, ignoring them. Women staring vainly into mirrors and admiring their beauty, but they are deformed. Things like that.

What is the best treatment you can think of for a sore throat that doesn't make you sleepy? (No reason *innocent look*)

I usually bear with it, but if it's too irritating I pick up chloraseptic spray, putting the nozzle in my mouth and getting much of my throat as I possibly can. In the meantime, I take copious amounts of vitamin C and orange juice.

Probably Shasta Cola... I mean, there are a lot of sodas that I just kinda go "eww" to but that is the only one that comes to mind.

Oh... wait... root beer. Fucking hate root beer.

In general, do you prefer red onions or white onions on most food?

White, I suppose, since I get it more in Mexican food and grilled for burgers. I've only in recent years come to love onions. And mushrooms, bananas, and tangerines.

Oh, probably the Judgement of Paris... mostly because I find it interesting that the myth version and the Discordian version are so similar yet different.

Frequently, as well. Seems like whenever I'm cooking, I'll pull something out of the fridge and not remember where I put it. I'll even stare right at it and it won't register that it's what I'm looking for.

NOPE! I can't remember the last time I really made a bed, more than just making sure the mattress isn't exposed when people come over.

On a side note, I always wondered why Disney gave Donald a shirt but no pants, while Mikey has pants but no shirt.

My favorite ice cream topping.... there are a lot of them that I like, but for favorite I think I'm going to have to go with good old chocolate syrup. You can't really go wrong with it.

I would put it into a savings account right away. I would take some money out come time for college so I can pay for classes, but i would let the money gain interest until I had a career, and then I would use it wisely to buy a quaint house, a nice car, and save the rest. Because money.

If you could live in any time period, which is it that you would choose?

For years I've thought places like the Renaissance or some period like that, but it's one of those overly romanticized eras that was actually pretty damn tough to exist in, especially if you were, say, a woman or someone who wanted to speak out against commonly held beliefs.

These days, I'd go with maybe the Old West, which while it's also romanticized and I've studied up on the gritty and gruesome parts (vigilante "justice," etc), I feel like I'd just have preferred life during that rough and rugged time.

My other go-to is the American 1970s. Classic rock, grindhouse movies, Star Wars (and other great science fiction films coming out), disco fashion (not my thing, personally, but it's nice to see people get into it), protesting, underground comix, and it's about this time that many of the cool things of the old world are still up before they're closed up and torn down to make way for "improvement."

Anyway...

What, based on what you think society would think, is your weirdest interest or hobby?
