| A bunch of countries have backed out or are about to so here is a list and what they were going to give the coalition.
BACKED OUT: Norway (planes) UAE United Arab Emirates (planes) ABOUT TO: Italy (base usage) Yemen (planes) If I was Gadhafi I would shot down every dang plane that passed over my country and state that you have no business telling me how I treat the "rebels" within my country and if you are going to enforce this no fly zone over my country then lets go to war. I would also pull out of the UN because if I remember my history class right the UN by charter they can not enforce a No fly zone or impose sanctions on a country that is not a member. My point for the previous comment is that because the US is stretched thin already is that he would probably win the war. |

| Long story short, Libya's dictator started slaughtering his own people for daring to protest his regime like what has been happening in other countries. Libyans asked for help, the UN declared a No Fly Zone to keep Gadhafi from bringing in mercenaries to slaughter millions... and the Libyan government declared a "cease fire" to try and dissuade them from enforcing it... then immediately broke the cease fire. I don't know if they violated the NFZ, but it would not surprise me. So the UN decided to take action, apparently lead by the French. | |||

According to him, the U.S.' main point in being there is to protect the Libyan people and enforce the no-fly zone. UPDATE: Obama's talking about how America doesn't need another Iraq, a country for which he says we are hopeful, since it's cost us years, lives, and $3 trillion. | I found the speech to be very clear in laying out the reasons for our actions, and I agree with them. I also found the commentary on MSNBC afterwards to be amusing as they talked about how some Republicans went from criticizing Obama for inaction and demanding that he do something to condemning him for doing exactly what they had demanded. |
