| Just got the e-mail saying I'm a candidate for graduation. Had to put in for my grad check last semester. I'd been told it takes a long ass time for them to sort it out, but apparently the analysis of my standing has been done and OK'd.
While cleaning my room earlier I found an old copy of the L.A. Times which will help with a friend's research project. I posted on her Facebook wall about it and she's very excited. And our room finally has a floor! Hosanna! With the excess furniture removed and what's still in here rearranged, there's SO MUCH space. Now to organize the walk-in closet and get to the sorting of clothes. Mom's birthday is Sunday. She's looking to be adventurous when it comes to where she wants to eat dinner. So Friday morning Ben did what can only be described as a "not-a-proposal". We were getting ready for gaming and he looked at me and the following dialogue occured: Ben: So, I was thinking... Elara: Yes? B: When we have some free time, we should go shopping so you can pick out a ring that you like. E: *pause and smirk* Is that a proposal? B: No, not really. I figure that I can do that once we have the ring. E: So why are you having me pick it out and spoil the surprise? B: So that I know it is a ring you want, beside I already know you will say yes. E: ... *roll eyes but smiling* Okay. So there you have it folks, I am "not-a-engaged." On a related side-note, why does anyone like square cut diamonds? |

I've got my big interview tomorrow with two of the three men who created steampunk, one of them being the author of the book that will be the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I'm pretty nervous. |

Now, for some happy thoughts... Things are getting better with my girlfriend. We went through a rough patch, but we're so much better now. I'm also pretty damn happy that my jobs are working out (I'm still exhausted as hell, though)! I don't know. It just feels like a step in the right direction. I finally feel like I'm getting my feet under me and actually doing something. |

| Ring achieved, thank you Jewelry Exchange. Went with a nice wedding set so we don't have to worry about matching the band to the engagement ring later. The diamond is pretty, though there are a few flaws, but it is still gorgeous. Whole thing was $851 after taxes... meaning I am paying rent this month.
Now I get to sit back and see how Ben does this. All I know is that it will happen by Halloween, since he did express the idea of doing it while we were on the cruise.... but yeah, no idea. |

| I finally got back an A+ paper for something. So far I've been getting decent grades, but I've been losing confidence in my writing this semester. AND I got full points for a class presentation for my difficult theory class. The teacher wrote to say we were the best so far and we did an exceptional job.
I registered for my two academic classes next semester, but I still need to get an internship before I can register for that class. I've just been feeling really down lately, and now I'm feeling a bit better. |

Last night (our team's third game, my second, I had to miss the first game) I scored my first two goals of the season for my hockey team! We (considered the worst team in the league) also played a great game against the league's highest scoring team, and were within one goal until less than a minute left in the game. We couldn't finish the comeback, but we played a really good game and I was very happy with my performance  |

| I just got home from an interview with a possible employer for my internship, and she immediately offered me the job.
I also apparently passed the English Writing Proficiency exam (university exit exam). So yay! Heading to Arizona tomorrow. I always love taking trips out there. <3 <3 <3 |

| Had the best weekend in Arizona re-enacting the Renaissance and Old West with steampunk. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend.
We were supposed to head back Sunday night/Monday morning, so I could make it back for Monday's class, but we stayed later so Brandon could see his mom. We had dinner at this really cool pizza place with this massive pipe organ inside, being played by a guy taking all sorts of crazy requests. It was amazing. |

| That would be Organ Stop Pizza in Mesa. It's right around the corner from Brandon's mom's apartment. I'd read about it for years and had been wanting to go, but never really found the right occasion.
Here's the guy playing the theme from "Raiders of the Lost Ark": He played that, a medley from "Mary Poppins," Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, among other things while we were there. |

| My weekends are almost entirely BOOKED all the way to June.
Heading up to San Francisco tomorrow evening for WonderCon, Comic-Con International's Bay Area comic book convention. Then there's four more conventions, faire, a visit to Brandon's dad in Central California (probably going to do some hiking), and two graduation ceremonies. |

I'm gleefully wearing two tassels indicating my dual majors. Now to fill out all of the registration crap for participating in the Filipino Grad Ceremony a week before Commencement. |
