| What's worse is that last year and before the big XBLA titles were usually 800MS points ($10), this year as I'm sure you all noticed they were 1200, $15.
Terrible. They found their exploit though and they're obviously going to use it. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense though when Sony has the PSN+ out now though... so instead of MS lowering their service, they bump it up for no apparent reason? |

| I dunno, the last time I even touched my Xbox 360 was back when I bought Record of Agarest war... and that was a few months back. For one, I don't have LIVE anymore so the multiplayer aspect was right out, and I have gotten bored of all of the games that I own... With my PC, I can run nearly everything, make it all look prettier than any console, and I've got a better selection of games. | |||

| Keep in mind that PS+ does offer free games. But Sony decides what games are free and what are not.
Hell the first week Europe got Little Big Planet for free. I bet some people in the USA would have jumped all over that deal alone. We just got Wipeout HD (Which I already own, and the expansion). Microsoft currently stands up top with the whole online services in gaming. Like it or not. But it looks like PSN will be getting cross game voice chat for PS+ users soon. Source It's up to you to decide which is the better deal really. E- Also, if you don't have PS+, you can still use the service so long as the person sending the invite to chat with you has an account with the service. I have one. | 360's good points - Has a large variety and number of games, nicest game controllers of ANY console EVER, had Mass Effect 1 first. (That's more a personal point, but I have it on PC now so it hardly matters)
360's bad points - Has very few decent exclusives (Only franchises that come to mind are Gears of War and Halo), expensive online (In comparison to the alternatives), expensive hardware and peripherals (even third party), and until the most recent money grabbing scheme have been a loud ass vacuum cleaner to suck in all the room's dust so it can eventually overheat and red ring. Oh, and you need to rebuy your 360 if you wanna play Kinect. Or at least needs you to get an extra attachment or something stupid. PS3 good points - A much better library of exclusive games (InFamous, LittleBIGPlanet, God of War series, Metal Gear Solid 4, ModNation Racers etc.), a nicer and more functional main screen (XMB is far superior to whatever the heck 360 uses with its Mii-looking avatar things and floaty boxes), games get updated fairly frequently, Mass Effect 2 is being released on it. PS3 bad points - Apparently the online is much worse than the 360's... At least it's free for bad online gaming, even if I've not had one problem with PS3's online but my brief 2 day trial in XBLive was riddled with a hundred problems just trying to access one game of Halo 3. There's also apparently something about the price, but I always have to remind everyone that once you add on the cost of a rechargable battery pack for the controllers, the wireless adaptor, HD-DVD player (Since it doesn't have bluray, awww) and etc. you end up spending about the same money, if not more for the 360. This is why I bought a PS3 and loads of games and tried to sell my 360. Most 360 games get released to be played on my uber awesome cheap gaming desktop, which just pulls through with everything on highest with most games so it looks even better than the console games. Especially ones that, for whatever reason, don't support anything about 720p resolution. Terrible in comparison to a 2048x1152 res I get on most PC games. PS3 exclusives generally STAY exclusive. Which is bad for me wanting to play everything on PC I 'spose, but the decent exclusives are worth having another console for. |

| Being as I'm jumping into this topic a bit late, forgive me if I repeat something and feel free to point it out.
Let's talk Harddrives for a sec. I'm not going to include the slim 360's because it's newer and due to it's youth, only has two harddrives available I believe, 4 gigs and 250 gigs, and I've only seen the 250 gigs sold separately, so the slim model simply needs time at this moment. However, yes, the 360's HD was external(Slim model is considered internal.). The highest HD available was the 250. I know my store sells it for about a buck thirty. So yes, if you used up that 20 gig, even that 60 gig, and so on and so forth, one COULD purchase a HD with more space. However, this much space has only recently been available for the 360, as far as it's lifespan is concerned. The PS3? Yes, it's internal, but it's still removable. If you have the older model, it's on the side pannel, and quite easy to slide out. The slimmer model? I know it's still removable, I just can't remember off the top of my head where. I know it's slightly different though. Wanna know something else? PS3 takes a standard laptop HD. SO, PS3, technically speaking, had MUCH more space available to it the moment the system hit the market. So, for all those thrifty people out there, who manage to scour the land for badass equipment, for only a fraction of the price, one could have not only increased their memory by a landslide, but could have done so at a cheaper price. As far as graphics are concerned, I've dealt with the conclusion that 360 has better graphics. So, I ran an ity bity experiment. Because, it's not JUST the system and the cables. Television is also a factor. And so, I ran my PS3 and my brother's 360 on MY TV. HDMI cables and all. And the graphics were pretty close actually. Then, we did the same on his TV, which is a thousand times more badass than mine, and...well, my PS3 looked a lot better. This discussion makes me want to try this again, and when I have the opportunity to, I'll try to post screenshots as well. But in any case, I'm going to say that PS3 is actually superior in graphics, as Sony has claimed all along. But I'm open to being hit with some extra facts if I'm incorrect here. In fact, you guys MUST enlighten me if I'm wrong on this one. 
The titles were already touched upon. That's more of a "to each their own" mentality. For instance, I could have done without MGS4, to be honest. I know, it's blasphemy to proclaim that, but ehh. Unclarted was REALLY good, and GOW? I loved them, but truth be told, I never played ANY of them until they released the Collection for the first two, and I only did that due to the hype of GOW3. Don't get me wrong, my time was not wasted in the least bit, but I'm no GOW fangirl either. And I hated Killzone. 360...I can't stand Halo, and Mass Effect is as GOW. The little that I've gotten to play, I've thoroughly enjoyed, but I'm not dying to steal my nephew's 360 to play it. Gears, however...  C'mon! Chainsaws!!!
Point is, I'm not too worried about the titles, I'm happy with what I've got on PS3, and I'm not going to argue with anyone's right to like or dislike certain games, so that's nothing too serious for me in deciding which system is better. However, back to graphics, I will return with resources for the info, but PS3 has untaped potential. When the system was first released, that was my biggest gripe with it. "So, they're charging us half a grand NOW for the system of TOMORROW? That's bullshit!" Oh how I proclaimed that so....but, this is for all you PC gamers as well, but PS3 has the potential to run just as nicely as the PC (I whole heartedly believe that PC would easily change that once they see what's going on though.) whereas 360 is pretty much at the peak of it's graphics. But the next few years will show promise to graphics in gaming, generally, and right now, I think only PS3 and PC are up for the task. Do I think Microsoft could step up their game? most certainly, but not with 360. They'll have to come up with something new. Refute me on this one as well, especially since I need to check my sources on this one and share 'em with you guys, but I'll leave some food for thought at the moment while I go to bed. I have to be up in 3 and a half hours for work. XD |
