So who's seen it? Whadja think?

Personally, I thought the first one was better, but it definitely wasn't bad. Whiplash seemed way too easy to beat, and Black Widow needed more scenes (and her accent).

After watching Kick-Ass, where Hit-Girl took out mobs of men on her own, and watching Black Widow do the same (WITHOUT a suit or anything like that, I mean, even if she didn't have the little gadgets that she did, she would still have kicked a whole lotta butt), chicks are finally making a comeback as heroes on their own.

Warms my heart and makes me think of the '90s again.

Anyway, not bad. Makes me look forward to the Avengers movies coming out.

Yeah, I sort of hold the same opinion, it was good, and it had more awesome robot fights, but it wasn't as fun as the first one to watchw, and I could definitely have used a better villain than Whiplash.

But on a side note... "I want my bird."

I'll third the fact that I enjoyed the first one more.

I absolutely could not stand Whiplash, the toothpick annoyed the hell out of me... but seriously, yeah he just sucked and was not funny or anything. I don't mind the actor, it was just the role.

Other than that it was fun stuff. Though this one seemed a lot more slapstick, it almost felt like every line was a one liner. Some really bad ones from Nick Fury.

What do you guys think of L Jackson playing him? I'm ... not sure what to think.

And yes, Black Widow was delicious
(lol, kind of made me want to see some live action Domino. Wonder who could pull that off?...)

There's a scene where you see Pepper and Natalie/Natasha walking up some steps from behind. I turned to Brandon and went, "Now who were you looking at?" He smirked and said, "Scarlett."

I'll second that it seemed like this movie was mostly one-liners. I think the whole peeing-in-the-suit thing was a real low point.

I must say, using Roger Sterling for Howard Stark was GENIUS. Very Walt Disneyish, though, but I still loved it.

Another thing about the movie: WAY TOO MUCH usage of the holographic schematic images this time around. It was a novelty in the first one and made people itch to have it, but Tony's Apple technology (taking over the TV during the hearing, using Jarvis, etc) got tiresome to watch after a while.

Hmm, good point on that holo stuff. Really that was only necessary for the scene when he was taking a look at that park/map and making a little something out of it.

But yeah, so much of the humor felt so forced (like the pee part as you said). I found myself laughing more at the slightly more subtle stuff, like when he just threw all those strawberries at that trash and they got all over the floor... eh.

Oh god, you're so right about the strawberries.

It was freaking hysterical when Black Widow and Happy break into the place and Happy spent 10 minutes trying to knock out the first guy.

There were a few things that were amusing in terms of their comic references (using Cap's shield to adjust the piping). I was one of those people who got all excited during the scene after the credits.

I wonder when they're going to start alluding to Ant Man and Wasp.

Whiplash was such a waste of Crimson Dynamo's backstory. Crimson Dynamo needed to be a villain. He's the fuckin' SOVIET IRON MAN. Whiplash just got his shit kicked. I'd also like to see Iron Man fight less, well, clones of himself. In the comics, there was a whole saga dedicated to him taking out people with suits based on his designs, including some mofos like

(although this mofo wasn't really a Stark product, but s-still...!)

Needs more Beetle, too <3 and here's to the Thor movie!

At about 11:30pm last night, I stood there, in the threshold of the theater. Looking at the Iron Man 2 times, since we missed the 11:15, because I was late getting out of work, and then I begged that we went to dinner before the movie, because silly me forgot to eat all day.

So many little events that could have been prevented...so many...but alas, the only showing was the midnight showing of the movie in IMAX, and we were all "Fuck that, it's too expensive." and left.

Alas, I have yet to see this film.

Katana, it's definitely not one of those movies that loans itself to being an IMAX or even 3D movie. If you've got a cheap theater, that'll do just fine as well. Good movie, it's entertaining and all, but you don't HAVE to see it in those formats.

That's pretty much why we didn't see it. It was the last show playing that night though, and I was almost looking forward to it for the simple fact that I haven't been in an IMAX theater since 3rd grade, and I puked profusely. All over my friend Seanie. It was awesome...

*cough* nuff said about that though. Even if it WAS worth seeing IMAX, I think I'm to cheap to really go through with it. XD

I saw Iron Man 2. It was pretty good, but I really don't think it captured the original's spot on feel. I feel like this movie really began an Iron Man movie series mythology, and I'm just scared that if they continue to build on it they could lose themselves in it.

However, Robert Downey Jr. is the greatest Iron Man ever, and he is hilarious. And Scarlett Johanesson is quite attractive to boot.

Not gonna lie...Scarlett Johanson really has grown on me. At first I couldn't see what everyone saw in her. She was cute and all, but ehh...but she seems to have grown sooo much as an actress, and while she is a very beautiful woman, appeal isn't all in the looks, and whatever else that is, she's growing into it, it seems.

Yes, I just honestly critiqued an actress. Sue me for the occasional shallowness.

I went to a friends house to watch Iron Man 1, before seeing Iron Man 2's midnight showing. The problem is that we only got through half of Iron Man 1 before I went and saw Iron Man 2.

Though everything was explained to me, I enjoyed Iron Man 2 more. But that might be because I fell asleep during the main fight at the end of Iron Man 1 .

Agreed about the final fights. Iron Monger wasn't that great of an ultimate force.

How It Should Have Ended captured all of my thoughts on his take off speed:

Marvel > DC

Hahaha, that was great.

Well if they get around to making a third movie... I'd like to see an INTELLIGENT villain. I mean Whiplash was kind of that, but certainly didn't give off that kind of vibe. So far the two main villains just feel like worthless big brutes.

Yeah, Obadiah was a stronger villain without the suit since he was all intrigue and backstabbing.

I actually don't know much about the Iron Man comics. Everything I know about him comes from cartoons and the animated movies Marvel's been putting out. So I can't really pick out a better villain I'd like to see Tony take on for #3.

Chances are an Avengers movie would come out before a third sequel even sees the light of day.
