| Just got back from a geology field trip. My pockets are full of Monterey shale chips from sliding down on mountain on my ass after running up it to check out the Cristianitos Fault, which was all powdery and cool looking.
My shoes are full of sand, I saw a dead seal, some bottlenose dolphins swimming off the shore, and I'm really f-ing tired. |

| So from Wednesday 'til Sunday, I'll be inactive as I'll be down in San Diego for Comic-Con.
Can't believe it's that time of year already. I met Kevin Eastman, who along with Peter Laird created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He was REALLY cool. I mean the guy's the editor in chief for Heavy Metal magazine. Might go to Lebowski Fest while I'm down San Diego way. If so, I won't be home probably until Monday morning. |

| Indeed. Semester's starting in 2 weeks and I've got work to do already for the paper.
The school keeps churning out issues at the same time. With the state of the economy, the California State University system went ahead and raised tuition fees 20%. It's wonderful to get e-mails and text messages saying that if I don't send the $400 within a week, I'll be "disenrolled." Ugh... |

| All right, so I just got a new cat. It's a little, black female kitten that my friend found wandering the streets this morning. She's small and frail and very fragile when you hold her or pick her up.
She drank A LOT of water when we got her home, and she sat at my other cat's bowl for like 10 minutes just eating. We still haven't named her, but at the same time we aren't entirely sure this is a permanent thing. We'll have to see how well Miko takes to her. So far she's hissed at the newbie. Hasn't hit her or anything. And she seems much more afraid of the kitten than anything. It should hopefully work out. |

| So it was an interesting weekend. Interviewed Seth Green, Thomas Jane, two of the Robot Chicken writers (one of them being a co-creator of "Freshmen"), and a couple comic book marketing people. Good stuff.
Watched Wonder Woman sing "I Touch Myself" and hung out at a party full of comic book artists hanging out drinking and drawing. |
