I didn't mind the Sylar twist at all, and tonight's episode of Heroes was fantastic. Fan-fucking-tastic.
Fuck the haters. |

Tonight's episode made things really look up.
My only thing is the super soldier storyline is coming really close to Captain America's origin. |

Well, you know what, I'm perfectly cool with that. Heroes has always been for me a comic book world for people who don't like comics. It's obvious the show has turned to them for inspiration over the course of the seasons, and that's fine. TV shows aren't exactly renowned for their originality.
Honestly, when they make the Captain America movie, I expect something like this. The current fad is making comic books fit into our world, and this is just another way to do it. |

I'll never forgive them for killing Adam. (Last edited by Xeu on 12-09-08 02:51 AM) |

Also makes me think, DID they really kill Arthur?
I sure hope they did, or else that'd ruin how epic that scene was. Sylar makes the show me for me now. I've definitely lost a lot of interest myself, but I think this season's been at least much more entertaining than the second season. I can't believe next week is already the last episode though. Sylar, Parkman, and Hiro/Ando are probably the only characters I really still care about. |

Originally posted by Xeu Yeah, it's definitely better than last season. Actually they're just going on hiatus for the winter like most other shows do. The season will continue again in a couple months. They're just saying it's the last episode of the year to hook more people into watching it next week. (Last edited by Rogue on 12-09-08 04:47 PM) |

Xeo: Arthur and Elle are deader than dead.

My list is pretty much Bennet, Hiro/Ando, Sylar, Matt, Nathan, and Monica (please bring her back).
Peter's regained some ground with me since he's lost his powers. And his interaction with Sylar this last episode was pretty good. |

Originally posted by Cairoi Yeah, he probably is. It's just weird how they kept emphasizing that they have to be shot in the back of the head or something, which didn't exactly happen ... but I'm sure the bullet went straight through his brain or whatever. I just thought it was questionable since he took Adam's power awhile back. |

Yeah, but also in season 2, one of the characters Adam was hunting down from the original Company board mentioned that shooting him in the head would permanently kill him, which he further explained to Peter, "There's no coming back from that one."
It's sort of weird though, since both Claire and Peter had brain injuries in first season, but came back to life when the item was removed. If a bullet goes clean through you, couldn't it be assumed that your brain will mend? |

Not only that, Adam was burned to a crisp back in feudal Japan; nothing but a skeleton. He obviously recovered from that, and his brain sure as hell was gone. | |||

And then it makes it even stranger when Sylar's proclaiming Claire can't die and neither can he in this season's premiere.
I mean, they have hinted that decapitation will kill those with spontaneous regenerative powers, ala the Highlander franchise. But I guess the clincher is that the Haitian is there. If he stays there long enough for the heart to stop pumping and the brain to stop functioning, he can make sure the person dies. Funny that no one's asked the Haitian his name. |

About the whole brain bullet issues:
Sylar didn't know the extent of the ability when he proclaimed that. I assume he understood that he can heal from most wounds, and to most people, that'd lead you to believe you're immortal. Second of all, he was a scarred corpse, not just a skeleton. It's feudal Japan gunpowder. I doubt it being able to destroy everything but his skeleton. Third of all, Claire and Peter came back to life when the object in their brain was removed. Now, this means that should someone dig in there and remove the bullet from his brain, he may come alive, but no one really wants him alive. What will likely happen is that someone will dispose of the corpse by burnination or something so he can't come back. |

I was under the assumption that when Kinsei said a bullet to the head would kill him permanently that he meant even one that went in and came out the other end. Eh, no matter.
EDIT: Bryan Fuller talks about his return to the show as a consultant :
EW also has a story on who's going to play Sylar's father: http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2008/12/john-glover-cas.html (Only slightly spoilerish, unless you count seeing who's going to be Gabriel's daddy, then yeah, it's a spoiler) (Last edited by Rogue on 12-11-08 09:57 AM) |

Good news, that's most likely untrue...
Apparently in this monday's episode pf Heroes, Monica is supposed to make an appearance according to the imdb casting list. The reason i say this is untrue is the fact that I cant find any info anywhere else that says shes coming back. Oh well, there's always volume 4 or season 4. Its funny how the one character from season 2 that had the most potential and coolest power gets written out, yet Maya gets to stay. I really hope we return to the New Orleans story line. I really wanted to see St. Joan in action! |

Though IMDb has been known to be wrong before (prior to Zachary Quinto being revealed as Sylar they had Sean Bean listed in the role), you give me a lot of hope, Anthony.
And AGREED! She had the most potential for an ORIGINAL power on the show (well, more accurately, non-X-Men power, I'm not sure if there are any comic characters with muscle memory). Indeed, St. Joan lives! (Last edited by Rogue on 12-12-08 04:31 AM) |

I got excited in one of the recent episodes when Hiro was looking trough the 9th wonders comics, the St. Joan issue was laying there. they only showed it for a second, but at least it was still there! Monica better be back soon! (Last edited by Anthony on 12-11-08 10:20 PM) |

All right, so after the hiatus, we just might be revisiting New Orleans. Hooray!!
How friggin' anti-climactic, though, with the super soldier. This season is just filled with disappointing endings and twists. |

Yeah, I agree. While I did enjoy this volume, I wasn't a big fan of the whole formula deal.
But I think volume 4 has real promise, I can't wait to see it I love the storyline. I guess imdb got it wrong, no Monica in the last episode.... But The preview for volume 4 showed Micha, so maybe at some point we'll see him and Monica. |
