So, everyone, I managed to get very lucky this tuesday. The bishop of my church called me, and told me that he had a friend who worked in a company that used laptops for testing. This company then went and sold the laptops for only a couple hundred dollars(one fifth of the normal price, BARELYused). So, the bishop asked if I wanted one. Naturally, I said yes.

Its and IBM Thinkpad X60. It's not going to be used for much gaming, obviously, but it's still a nice machine, very light for when I want to travel with it, and generally a good system all around.

So, envy me. Becase I got a laptop and a docking station at 1/10th of the normal price. :-)

I think I would still rather pay for one with the specs I want than to get a random computer. Good deal, though.

Can't envy you. Yahoo gave me a Macbook Pro with 4GB of RAM and running a Windows XP Virtual Machine, Intel DuoCore, 200GB HDD, built-in Bluetooth and the other goodies.

$2300 machine. Free.

Granted, I don't have it anymore, since it is a work machine, but I'm content with my Toshiba.

I'll let you know when the envy hits, and but a Thinkpad just doesn't do it for me. Now, a Toughbook 19. That'll make me drool.

I do own a Toughbook 27, but it's old.

Hush Stitch, it's awesome, you know you want it...feel jealous!

It's got a 1.83 GHz proccessor, a 128Mb video card, a gig of RAM, and about 70Gb of hard disk space.

Hardly a gaming system, but still awesome, for me, who has never worked in a computer company.

Stitch, feel jealous! You know you really want it...

My Toshiba has an Intel DuoCore running at 1.6GHz each, with the 128MB video card, dual screen capabilities, built-in card readers, 1.5GB of RAM and 80GB. I'm still able to play SimCity 4 on it, so I'm good.

And, well, the Macbook was just awesomeness in and of itself. Sooo much better than my Toshiba.

I don't work at a computer company anymore. But, when I did, it wasn't really a computer company. They're an internet company.

I'd go off on how the specs of my laptop are better, but I don't know them off the top of my head, and don't care to look into it. So I'll just say that I'm happy with what I paid for with my more-than-well-earned cash.

[edit] It does have 4gb RAM, 250G HDD and a built-in web cam, though. That's all I can remember.

So, it's either a Dell or a Macbook.

Ah yes, forgot those had built-in dealies too.

I'm happy with my Toshiba. I only need it for business purposes anyway. Until I need something more, I'll build it. Until then, there's always marshmallow fluff and peanut butter.
