What web browser do you like best?
Google just came out with its new Chrome browser. It is really neat, but there are so many browsers out there. What do you use/like?

Behold! The new web browser: Google Chrome!

I am currently using it and it is really freaking awesome! I would totally recommend it to anyone who likes a fast browser. The browser loads quickly and doesn't bloat. For me, it is perfect for my older machines. I still haven't figured out how to get addons for it though...

Any thoughts?

EDIT: Apparently I forgot to add Google Chrome as a choice, but I can't add it now since the system doesn't think I'm a moderator or the creator of this thread/poll. Someone might want to fix that...

I run Firefox on my PCs and my Mac.

Internet Explorer is on the Pocket PC, because I can't find a freeware solution to not having IE on the Windows Mobile device. Opera mobile is expensive. Should be free.

I don't like Safari on the Mac. It has random rendering issues. It's fine on the iPhone (I don't own one), and I'd run Google Chrome (aside from that found on the Android device) but don't wanna. Hell, if Yahoo! had it's own browser, I'd be using that instead since so many Yahoo! things are preloaded on my Mac.

I do run the IETab extension on my Firefox for those sites that just don't go universal and cater to MS IE instead.

I checked with my contact at Google, and she said they're not doing add-on support for the public quite yet, but it's not impossible to do. There's more support for the Android devices right now (even though they're all pre-commercial) than for PCs. But, it's coming.

Other than that, INTARWEBS!

Edit: I installed Google Chrome on the PC Virtual Machine on my Mac.

Erhm...The poll doesn't allow me to add Google Chrome as a choice. Could someone do this? Personally, I like Firefox better for now, but Google Chrome has its uses. For example, playing games or using a public computer is great on Chrome because of the separated processes and incognito windows.

Yeah, I can't switch because we use specific add-ons (internal and public) created specifically for Firefox, and switching to any other browser (IE included) would hamper much of my work. And, I don't like the simplified interface of Chrome. It's almost like a kiddie-browser. I know that the Android framework is beneath it, and knowing what Android can do, I'm a little disappointed with the appearance.

Added Google Chrome (though isn't it somewhat early to vote on that? )

Well I really need to check it out, it sounds pretty awesome. Just like Google, but I'm still very pro-Mozilla, so I'll probably continue using Firefox a lot too. So obviously I use Firefox most of the time myself.

Haven't bothered to touch any version of IE in years, at least on personal computers.

Opera's definitely not bad.

Why wasn't multi-voting enabled? I mean, I use multiple browsers because of my working environment and testing my website when I make changes. I have IE loaded on the virtual machine and Google Chrome, my Mac comes with Safari and I use Firefox instead. My PC at home has IE, but I don't use it, I have Firefox running on that. All the Linux machines are running Firefox or their standard open-source browsers.

I do believe it is too early to vote on this as well.

I'm going to have to go with Google Chrome, folks. It looks nice, very simple interface, and it seems to load fast. Of course, I didn't really use Firefox that much, and IE was my browser of choice before, so oh well.

Yeah, I admit it, I'm a die hard Google fan. Live with it.

I work with Google people all the time now, and I like their Android-driven products, but I can't use Google Chrome just yet. Not because of stubbornness, but I have proprietary tools that were built for Firefox that I just can't use on Chrome. And, I just don't feel like customizing yet another browser.

If the cloudware implementation takes off, and Chrome is the way to go for cloud computing, then I'll make the full switch, but I'm happy with Firefox. I have no issues with waiting a few seconds for the browser to launch, or waiting a few seconds for something to load. I, frankly, don't understand why a few seconds wait is such a big deal. I mean, I depend on the slowness of my PC (and occasionally the Mac) to give me time to do other things.

Ergo, I come in on mornings, power up the Mac and launch all the things I need for the day (VPN connection, Firefox, Entourage, Yahoo IM, Adium, Windows Virtual Machine) and then run off to get breakfast or whatever else needs preparation. By the time I get back, I'm connected, everything is launched, mail has downloaded and the Virtual Machine is pumping away on its end. Even if I sat here and watched it, I'd still only be waiting about 5 seconds for it to launch. And Google Chrome is taking just that long to launch. It's running on the Virtual Machine, but I don't really use it--again, the proprietary tools.

So, until I have an explicit need, I'm sticking to Firefox. I like the ability to tweak things in the about:config and the ease of add-ons from mozdev, and the fact that we can create add-ons, and that it interfaces with Thunderbird, and some other thing. Chrome is awesome on the Android-driven phones. But, I'm just not ready to take it on my PC/Mac quite yet. It seems like it would be a lightweight and powerful solution to mobilized or specialized computer environments of the cloud computing present and future, not so much in the land of PC computing, if you're doing more with your browser than simply surfing the web and checking e-mail, watching videos and playing Flash games.

Like I am.

Google Chrome looks great...

But until I can use Java with it, I'm sticking with Firefox. I need my Java powered IRC chats!

I think he voted for IE.

Anyway, I hope to use Chrome a lot in the future, but because it's incompatible with a lot of websites, I'm just sticking to IE for now. I still like Chrome a lot though.

I've always been a firefox fan, there isn't really anything I dislike about it and there isn't improvements it needs that are related to me.

So yesh, firefox.

People say Firefox is a memory Hog. Which it is. But I have a 1.2 processor. Like, back in the 90's stuff, and it runs that, and my computer just fine.

Firefox had three tabs Open, and Chrome had...well 6. I added it all up, and there you go. Chrome isnt a memory hog, but firefox works for me because it does not slow me down. Plus it has Java, and is just as safe.

Chrome also hates HD Youtube videos...at least for me it does.

Firefox has horrible memory leak issues...I use Firefox and Opera.

On my phone I use IE (FUCK YOU WINDOWS MOBILLLLLLE but I can do all kinds of other cool shit with it so its cool)
and chrome eats processor cycles...I don't particularly like their TOS and FX"s thread is actually making me migrate all of my mail away from Google.

Firefox done lots of improvements. Haven't used it much but it can be helpful on a few sites.

Some pages like my board aborted out on me if I use Internet Explorer whenever I go to an empty forum (No threads and or posts). Possibly inserted too many forum codes in the main and global headers might be the problem.

I've got 4GBs of RAM on my work computer, so I don't really care what Firefox does. And, it's not a big a memory hog as version 2 was. I haven't had as big an issue with memory on either of my computers with Firefox. And, how else am I expected to do automated testing cycles on a browser that barely supports the internet basics.

I'm sure that Chrome will be the unit to replace all as the world becomes more dependent and a bit more lazy, but I'm still a Firefox user and a Firefox fan. I can host IE off of it, I can emulate all manner of PC and phone configurations, there's an add-on for every single one of our software requirements, and I can host all of our internal proprietaries directly from the browser. I have no need to run anything else (even though I still do because the web interface to most of our stuff is just a pain).

I honestly don't understand why having something be a memory hog (of which it's not) is such a bad thing? Just close and reopen if that's the issue. I've had more problems running windows and having that be a hog than anything else, but then, I'm a converted Mac user now because that's all I use for work (I do miss the ability to right-click, though).

What the hell was I talking about?
