I'm watching/almost done with Death Note. I think that it's really good, and pretty well made, although I've enjoyed a lot of other anime more than it.

Next I plan on watching Ghost in the Shell or Solty Rei, not sure which yet.

I demand you watch Solty Rei. If you don't, I will go to America and rape all the little children of Alabama.

By Ghost in the Shell, you mean the series right?

Well the movie is worth seeing as well ... for the art alone really, it's somewhat of a cult classic I guess, but kind of a love it or hate it kind of thing. For the movie I'll just say this, don't expect to understand the plot of the entire film unless you watch it 50 times or something. This even applies to the series from time to time, but like I said a page back the characters are awesome!

Xeo, I'll probably watch the series first, since from what I've heard then the movies sort of lead into each other a bit, or at least, that's the impression I got from watching the second movie, which I only sort of understood.

Ryan, I know, I know, I'll watch it as soon as you watch Blood+ or Trigun, both of which are very, very awesome.

Anyway, I finished Death Note, and while I enjoyed a lot of it, I do think that they could ahve made it a lot better with just a little bit of work. For instance, why did they only build up Light as a character, when he's being played as the villian? The show made no room for a happy ending for a good character. Although, it is more of a philosophical series than anything, so I'm not too concerned.

I also watched the first episode of Black Lagoon, and I was very entertained. It doesn't seem as though it's going to proove to be that intelligent, but it will definitely be fun to watch.

Anyone got any other reccomendations for an anime?

Well, from what I know the Ghost in the Shell series and movies don't exactly tie in directly, they're like alternate settings and whatnot. But it definitely helps to see both.

Black Lagoon is definitely not something to be taken too seriously, but I too thought it was a very fun and entertaining series. There's some serious segments here and there, but overall it's more of a fun series. The bad thing is it's a bit like Trigun, Berserk, etc, in that it doesn't necessarily end, though the manga is ongoing so it's possible they could come up with another season or two sometime down the road. I really hope they do, because the series could use some patches here and there.

Light in my opinion, came off as somewhat of a tragic hero in the end. Just like it was suggested at the very start of the series, in the end, he was completely alone with nobody to turn to or trust. Some love him, some hate him, there's a good amount of controversy around the whole series. I simply liked him a lot since he did come off as a villian more than anything else, which seemed kind of original.

Vulkar, I'd recommend you check out Code Geass if you haven't. The main character Lelouch comes off as one of the few characters you could compare to Light in all anime out there, though unlike Light he has more of a set goal rather than just to "change the world" and he surrounds himself with allies. It's more action based, has mecha, but the first season has some incredible character development and whatnot. It's one of those series that'll make you question who's side you should be on, as it develops both sides of the overall conflict for the series. Most here that have gotten around to watching it I'm pretty sure love the series (DarkSlaya, TP, Kyoku, etc). It's one of my favorites, but like I said earlier ... I'm not exactly sure where season 2 is going.

If you want something similar to Death Note but far more mature and realistic, Monster. By far one of my top favorite shows I've ever seen. The thing that holds people back is the length though, hitting at 74 episodes and the beginning is hard to get through for some since it comes off as a "little slow", having to setup the plot and main character. Even I can admit I had this series downloaded for years before I finally caved in. Seriously though, when I got hooked on this series I was hooked. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had watching something, it's not just something you watch but instead it's like an adventure you'll go through along with all the characters and everything. You "live" through it. The art style is also a one of a kind, very realistic and not typical anime. It's hard to recommend someone who hasn't seen it and trying to say something other than it's simply one of the best I've ever seen ... but yeah, look into it.

Definitely one I will never forget.

But hey, other than that, are you looking for anything specific?

Nah, not really, I really think that this is long enough of a list of anime for me to watch. I'll probably ask again in the future though.

I'll probably first finish Black Lagoon, since it's not horribly long, then move on to Monster, which sounds pretty cool, although I'm just hoping that it will have a happier ending than Death Note. Code Geass I'll watch eventually, but I'd honestly rather wait until the story is done first, because I absolutely hate week long waits between episodes.

Also, assuming that a series doesn't have like, 200 episodes, I don't mind if it's fairly long, I'd just prefer to have as little filler plot as possible, because that's what made me stop with Bleach.

Anyway, thanks, this is probably enough of a list now.

Well, Code Geass's first season has been finished for awhile. The two are seperate enough that you could probably just watch the first one now and wait until the second is finished (should be fall this year or so).

And the ending for Monster ... perfection.

I just finished GITS: 2nd Gig. Wow, easily one of my top favorites.

I dunno, I was set on Lelouch's side from the start.

Suzaku was just way too naive, and a bit of a hypocrite.

Weeeeeeeeell, I hate Suzuka now and I always liked Lelouch. I guess I can just say the show develops both sides very well, unlike other shows where it just focuses on the heroes. If that makes more sense.

It does. Death Note developed both sides better, however. Oh Light, the major mass murderer we all love.~

Currently I am watching Elfen Lied. Though veeeeeeery slooooooowly.

I agree with you guys about liking both sides in Code Geass and Death Note. But I was always on Lelouch's side too .

Not sure about L or Kira though >.>/

Not much of a fan of mecha anime sometimes, especially Code Geass... I watched the first ep of Lelouch of the Revolution and I wasn't impressed.

I have started on three series now.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
Allison & Lillia
Night Wizard

MGLN.... amazing for a magical girl series.

AtL... Beautiful...

NW.... *shrug*

I'm about to start on ToLoveRU because it's pretty good for an ecchi. XD

I don't know what to say about the second season, but I don't really consider Code Geass to be a mecha. The mech's are kind of just "there" but the plot and everything definitely doesn't revolve around them, unlike other series.

Speaking of ecchi, Aika R-16 looks kind of epic ... (I was bored and browsing /a/)

edit: Oooop, NSFW links. I uploaded them with the NSFW option so the full images have nasty ads around them.

I'll probably just watch it for the lawls if I get that bored, it's only three episodes. But I usually just typically skip out on ecchi and go with something else.

But seriously, it just looks hilarious. I didn't know that much fan service was even possible.

Wow, am I really the only one watching Macross F right now? Episode 13 was incredible, definitely liking it more than Code Geass R2 right now.

I'm about midway in Gundam 00. Definitely not bad at all, though from everything I hear I think I'd like Seed more. Which I'm downloading at the moment.

I didn't like Gundam 00 very much until about half way through the series. I don't know exactly what happened, but I really enjoyed it. The ending of the series made me want a second season a LOT more then Gundam Seed did. (Yay only one more month till Gundam 00 number two!).

Gundam Seed I really enjoyed while I was watching it, but I didn't really miss it after I stopped. But I plan on rewatching it soon.

Not any new big animes and I am watching, other then Hidamari Sketch x365 DD!

Yeah, I actually don't know if I want to wait for 00's second season to finish to watch it or not. Maybe I'll just wait since I'd like to catch up with other Gundam's, specifically Seed and I hear Zeta is one of the best as well.

Zeta is the shit, I have him punching some dude on my Windows Live messenger. >.>

Currently watching Gundam 00, watched episode 01, was REALLY unimpressed, so I forced myself through the episode, then watched Welcome to NHK, followed by Code Geass. My friend recently got to... I think it was 10 on Gundam 00, and is saying it'll only get better, so, me without an anime to watch... guess i'll start on that again.
