This has been going around for a bit with regards to people who have this rather tenuous and unexplainable hold on possessions.

POSSESSED from Martin Hampton on Vimeo.

I know I can be pretty bad when it comes to keeping some things for sentimental value no matter how worthless they are as well as being a collector, but I'm not at the level of--ahem--"dedication" as these folks.

Then again being constantly broke does sort of put a damper on impulse buying for the sake of impulse buying.

"Pack rat".

Yeah, I am a hoarder. So much that it even effects stuff I have on the computer, anime, music, etc, whatever, I like keeping things.

CD's, movies, videogames, clothes, etc, I'm a junkie. It's not extreme but I could see myself being somewhat like that guy when I hit his age.

Not much of one. You will not get my Legos away from me, but other than that, I'm usually reasonable.

I used to keep track of how many Legos I had (made so much easier by the piece counts on the boxes), but I stopped around 9,000 I believe...

I hold onto my LEGO as well. I have Star Wars ships etc sitting around in my room.

I have also held on to a couple of my old toys. Just because, y'know, they're awesome no matter what.

I still have the soda bottles that advertised Star Wars Episode I (I was 11 that summer, mind you...I'm about to be 20) as well as other things that came out around that time. I have the very last penny my great-grandmother had given me (that was her thing, a penny on heads was good luck, so she would always tape one to our cards) and that was also nearly 10 years ago...I have a lot of stuff that has that kind of value to it. Otherwise, most of the other junk I have are things that I've just been too lazy to sift through. Should I do that, I would have no problem parting with what should be parted with. **shrugs**

So...I guess I am...out of laziness moreso than anything else. Memories don't go away just because you don't have a certain object anymore. So, I don't have to keep EVERYTHING. Just what means the most to me.

Eh, I actually don't keep much at all. Any old toys I got rid of a long time ago(or gave to my siblings), any objects I don't use I threw away, and pretty much the only thing I will adamantly keep are books.

And I've practically got my own library of books by now, it's fun. :-P

I took a quick look around my room and I just noticed I'm the complete opposite of a hoarder, to a scary extent. Everything is pushed up against the walls, or stacked neatly on a shelf...

It's pretty much barren, except for the couple projects I have on the go, but haven't been motivated to do yet(Magic: The Gathering decks, two new gundam models, and a drawing). I hate being sick!
No, no, I definately couldn't be considered a hoarder.

Well your coming over to use my scanner tomorrow, so you'll see...

Books are probably one of the easiest thing to "hoard", along with things such as cards, figurines(warhammer40k, Gundams, Lego(<3), etc.), and movies. It must be because they all have some sort of retreat or escape attached to them, and you don't have to think about anything else. Example, I've got no worries when I'm reading a good fantasy novel.

I am in a way but to a much much lesser degree. I'm just messy I guess and don't really bother to throw stuff away. Although I do like the feeling of cleaning stuff out and throwing everything away. So my room gets messy but then after a few months I clean it out. My desk is horrible right now though. Theres a foot high stack of junk. I'm cleaning out my room today though cause I'm getting new floors.

And also with downloading stuff. I have an external hard drive that I have probably over 150 movies on it and I'm constantly downloading more. Also with songs. If I like a song I download the entire album. I have over 8,000 songs.
