How much snow (if you got any at all) get this year? Im just curious because this year seams to be one of the worst years we've had here in Southern Oregon for snow. so far the most we've had the last week or two was just over a foot.

It's snowing again now, sitting at probably a inch more or so..

Looks like I need to go pack my bags cause i might not be able to get home tonight after work.

a few pics from a few weeks ago. I couldnt come home for the last big storm so I didnt get any pics of that..

We here in Southern California were pelted with a week-long rainstorm and amazingly some parts of L.A. county did get a bit of snow, but none has hit my area.

The mountains that I can see from my window, though, are completely blanketed with white.

Well, where I live it only snows once every...20 years? The last time was five years ago (while I was in Mexico..).
So, no. I didn't get any snow this year at all, but the mountains that I can see from my window were covered at some point.

I love snow, why can't I live somewhere where it snows in Winter..

Yea, we just got done with our day long rainstorm. Now it's starting to snow again, which means water is going to freeze under snow.

it's going to be fun driving tonight

We're getting a pretty big snowstorm right now and I got off of school because of it. This year its been snowing a lot this winter. I've had 6 snow days and 2 cold days this year. The roads really haven't been that bad, they've only been icy in a few spots, but the snowplows are usually pretty quick of cleaning the roads up.

I live in a desert. It hasn't snowed one bit!! w00t.

As for Oregon however.... I had to drive through all of Oregon in the second week of January. It blew. Oregon doesn't know how to plow roads. It was terrifying. Oregon's residents drive like maniacs... and it was just a sucky adventure all together.

Wow, those are some nice pictures. Today it has been alternating between snow and freezing rain all day -- it just recently stopped. I didn't have to work today, so it didn't bother me that much.

There's been some casual snow here and there this year, I've seen a lot more though. Yesterday we were supposed to get up to like 8 inches ... didn't get anything.

You know we say the same thing about all you damn Californians

*cough*

lol jk

but yea, it depends on where your going in Oregon. The roads near my place dont get plowed until later in the day, and even then they sometimes don't do it at all and just gravel it. *shrugs*

Everyone says that about Californians... including most Californians.

But yeah, I'm in the same boat as Rogue... though I believe that the mountains got a couple feet of snow with that last storm. It was raining down where we are though, I think for 3 days straight.

It snowed a little bit here... Although nothing too fun. And not on a day that could get us out of school.

Actually, I didn't think it snowed that much -- I woke this morning and there was about 5 inches on the ground. Well, it could be worse -- before it was snowing so much that they were running out of places to put the stuff.

Ah, I pity those who get no snow. You, my friends, are missing out. I've had my share of big snow storms here in MN. In fact we've had a "true" winter- lot's of snow, black ice and days where the temperature dropped as low as -10 F. Cold enough to make ANYONE'S nipples stand on end. I remember over 10 years ago the entire state of Minnesota had to shut down, with the exception of emergency vehicles, because the temp had gone all the way down to -60 F. That was something.
Just before Christmas my brother and I were driving to our relatives' in a snow storm with really excessive winds. And by excessive, lots and lots of snow drifts were flying across the highways. So much so that there were several complete white-out instances where I literally couldn't see the anything in front of me, not even the hood of my car, for 1-3 seconds. What's more, my brother and I actually witnessed an SUV slide into the center ditch and flip over onto it's side. Man, what a wind storm that was. I've seen a total 20-something cars in the ditch the whole trip that day, including another one on it's side.

People, THAT is how a winter should be!

I saw a semi truck jack knife. The trailer fell over and split apart like the steel was nothing.

But we have nothing like what you've got over there Cyro, I think the coldest it gets here is about 2-3 degrees above 0 *shrugs*

It doesn't get down to below zero here ALL the time. On average it's about 7 or so days worth of sub-zero temps. But it's just not a winter to me without it.
