They are ridiculous.

ABC Family is doing "Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas." That's right. A countdown to a countdown to Christmas.

Comedy Central's is worse. It's a countdown to Christmas where they just play the exact same things they always play.

It's probably ABC's way of coping with the writers' strike--just air more Christmas/holiday/family movies and ride it all out.

Agreed though. I've never really been one for Christmas specials, particularly when it's just a steady stream of cheesy and nauseatingly campy shit you're supposed to watch with the whole family or whatever.

The only one I get all sentimental with is "A Charlie Brown Christmas," that's about it.

Actually I love watching Rudolph claymations. But honestly... the countdown to the count down of is what really got me laughing. XD

Here's the best way to look at it. If you can't fix, cover it up with more specials. Some of those specials were really cute. XD

I rather go to work on the Holiday Season. I'm feeling depressed though.

Its always been a tradition to watch the Grinch try and steal Christmas again. Both the cartoon and live-action one by Jim Carrey.

I need to know why they Re-Mastered all these classic christmas specials. Reminds me of the South Park Episode when George Lucas and Steven Spielberg updated their movies.

Actually, I saw that one before the strike.

Difference between remastering and updating.

Like everyone behind the scenes didn't see the strike coming though...

Well, remastering is increasing the video quality, fixing damaged parts, redoing sound or effects. Updating is changing facts or actual things in the movie. Like the taking out N-word, or something. That's a pretty bad example, but you get what I mean.

You saw a countdown to Christmas specials in October? That's sick.

Well, it wasn't a countdown to Christmas. It was the countdown to the countdown to Christmas...

I think that the people at these networks need some serious help when they decided that a Countdown to the countdown before Christmas was a good idea. I mean, putting A Christmas Story on a 24 hour loop is bad enough.

So now they're doing the actual 25 Days to Christmas, and some of these original movies they are putting out are ridiculous. Here's a few of them:

- Jewel thief forced to hide out with distant relatives. Learns the meaning of Christmas.

- Woman gets trapped inside a snow globe. Seems to be exactly like Pleasantville. Learns the meaning of Christmas.

There's a few more, but I didn't waste brain space remembering them. They all end the same though.

EDIT: Remembered one:

- Man find out he's dating a criminal. They fall in love. Learn the meaning of Christmas.

What's wrong with that? I watch it every year for the past 10 or so years lol At least 3 times in the 24 hours

The one that kills me is "It's a Wonderful Life" playing on a loop (even worse when it's colorized). I tolerated that movie when I was a child, but now it's practically become unbearable to watch.

I laughed mostly because at the end, you know John Lovitz is crouched down behind that table. Just a funny thought, at least for me.
