You have to check out Heading for Tommorow from Blast from the Past. Probably one of the best epics of all time.

I would like to know where the hell Dark Moor, Ensiferum, and other good bands are in Napster.

Huge Disappointment.

I mean, I got like a HUGE giftcard I won off of them, but its worthless seen how I can just stream the music from the site for free.

But yeah, Gamma Ray is legion. Period.

VS

WHO WOULD WIN!?

(Either that, or pull a Demons and Wizards so they can come together or something...either way, thats some epic battle we got here)

@DarkSlaya: Yeah, I still think overall Blast from the Past is probably my favorite album from them, even though its not a "real" album. The remakes are just flawless, and the 2nd disc has nothing but classics.

Hansi vs Kai? Well, I usually praise Kai's work for his guitars and writing, but his vocals are pretty awesome and unique too. Though his range and stuff aren't as good as Hansi's for sure. Hansi's great, but I always hate it when he does the multiple layers thing with his singing. But you guys know me, I'm quite the old schooler (not a huge fan of Blind Guardian's new stuff to be honest).

I probably looked way too deep into that.

By the way I don't remember if I said this in here before, but I came to the conclusion that I like Scanner's first two albums even more than Helloween's Keeper albums. If you guys love Gamma Ray/etc similar bands, you absolutely have to hear Scanner's stuff. They pretty much played that style before most bands and its incredible.

Scanner's audio page. Their first two albums were Hypertrace and Terminal Earth, Mental Reservation was mindblowing too. AFTER THE STORM!!! Best chorus ever!?!

IRON SAVIOR

Discovered them because Hansi guest sung in the band...Excellentness

Hansi was also in Gamma Ray's song "Farewell". Which I found out just now.

But Iron Savior is an excellent band everyone should check out.

Love Iron Savior. They seem essential if you like Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, and European stuff.

They're pretty dang consistent too. You really can't go wrong with any of their albums. Great band.

Oh yeah, Kai Hansen was with them for their first three albums I believe. He does lead vocals on a few songs here and there too.

And xeo, got anymore Scanner songs you like? I would like to hear more. (wikipedia'd them yesterday, learned a little about them)

I like a lot of Japanese rock like T.M. Revolution and Camino, but I also like metal bands like:

Luca Turilli:
One of my all time favorites- Demonheart
One of their newer songs I think- Virus
Another good song- Prophet of the Last Eclipse

Hammerfall:
Hearts on Fire

Dark Moor:
In the Heart of Stone

Ensiferum:
Sword Chant is also an epic metal song, but I couldn't find a video of it unfortunately.

I have more but that's all I can think of at the moment. I'm also still learning about a lot more, too.

Really their first three albums Hypertrace Terminal Earth, and Mental Reservation are pretty solid all around. Every track is pretty great. But some of my favorites would probably be:
- Warp 7, Locked Out, R.M.U, Grapes of Fear -- Hypertrace
- The Law, Touch the Light, Terminal Earth, From the Dust of Ages, The Challenge -- Terminal Earth
- Break the Seal, Upright Liar, After the Storm, Out of Nowhere, Rubberman -- Mental Reservation

Fennicy = Yes another fan!

Alright, I need some suggestions. I'm currently listening to Children of Bodom, Manowar (Hell yes), Sonata Arctica, Cradle of Filth (yeah, I know....), and Blind Guardian.

I can't think of who to listen to next... Any ideas? And no, I'm not a big fan of Dream Theater, but I know that they're awesome anyway. I just can't pay attention to their progressive style for too long!

EDIT: Oh, I forgot Sinergy. A lot of people don't like them for some reason, but for fuck's sake, it's still ALEXI FUCKING LAIHO!..... Plus, they did a song about Xena. That deserves epicness.

Since you like Sonata Arctica, I'd recommend Dragonland (I'll find a good video). It's been a band I've adored since I found out about it.

EDIT: Arghhhhh. Why the fuck do everyone use the same fucking song (Forever Walking Alone) for their damn videos

EDIT2: Anti-Matter

EDIT3: They even have a myspace: link

Well, I just reciently heard a band that blew my mind away.

It was on Metal Storm Radio, and my epic warrior friend introduced me to them. Hes also going to get me some songs, so unfortunately, I dont have a sample (Unless they have a Myspace, or an Imeem

By far the greatest Band you will ever, ever, EVER hear. (Well Epic on many levels, has instantly became a new personal favorite of mine)

Their Myspace

But none of their songs is what I wanted you guys to hear, but its still Epic.

The song was called "Seven Angels" or something from "Metal Opera Part II", basicially they had 7 of the greatest Metal singers known to man sing in that one song, including the singer from Edguy and DIO!

You are Welcome!

Edit- Prepare to freaking blow your head off, I found the song I want you to hear!

Yeah, Avantasia is awesome. Their third album is in the making right now.

But this band is the reason I have so much respect for Tobias Sammet: he got so many great musicians together. But yeah, it's awesome, if you consider it's kinda a side project and all.

What era of Blind Guardian do you like? There's quite a difference from their more straight forward speed metal stuff in the old days than compared to their newer epic power stuff.

Of course, you could be a fan of both like myself and others I'm sure. Either way you should definitely check out Savage Circus and Persuader, both are pretty similar.

As for Manowar, Virgin Steele gets compared to them a lot. So check them out.

The first album of Blind Guardian I've ever heard was Nightfall in Middle Earth. I got it because it sounded like it would be about Lord of the Rings, and duh it was. I heard that one back in middle school, I checked it out from the local library. I liked them so much that I ended up getting into metal of all sorts. After them was Children of Bodom and the list goes on.

Other than that album, I've been listening to Follow the Blind (awesome) and I picked up the single Fly for $2, but I don't really like it as much and I don't know why. I'm just weird, I guess. Or maybe I just don't like singles >.>

I've heard of Virgin Steele but I haven't actually HEARD them yet. I'll check em out.

If you want a GOOD Blind Guardian Album, get "Night of the Opera".

I'm a filthy, filthy pirate... Anyway, I have the entire Blind Guardian discography now. Don't worry, I'm a GOOD pirate as I'll always buy the actual album if I come across it
