My Chemical Romance isn't even a Emo band. But our country must be really boring if Fox does a report on Emo kids.

HA! Hahahahahahahaha!! Now you see what we Los Angeles/Long Beach people put up with all the time (that's our channel and news people).

They report on the stupidest shit ALL the time (mostly on party scenes and anything to do with sex). What's worse are the people who report in the morning (Good Day L.A.):

Chemical Romance is Screamo crap. Same idea. Only more senseless screaming.
No one there knew what they were talking about for the most part. I heard some deathmetal, and even some Goregrind in there. And that's about as far from crap like AFI can get.
Fuck emos, fuck their music.

That's completely unnecessary.

And no, My Chemical Romance is not screamo. I don't even like MCR but i know for a fact they aren't 'emo' though their old image may have come across as such.

Leave it to Fox to get some of their info wrong...again.

The discrimination of our generation is not based on color, nor heritage, nor religon.

Ours is that of teenage archetypes. We assume all "emo" people and all "goth" people act a certain, predefined way because of the sterotype, and there's violence from it.

I Personally don't give a rats ass. People live their lives how ever the hell they want to.

If you want to blame your parents for all your misfortune then thats on you. Its a personal problem that has nothing to do with Me.

I don't discriminate Period. Everybody bleeds the same damn color, and shits the same stinky shit.

PLUS!!!!!!!!!! Everyone feels the same when I Punch them in the FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't all assume that emo's act a certain way, they prove it by acting a certain way. I couldn't watch the videos, but still, everyone judges everyone.

If you believe you shouldn't judge someone by what they listen to, then you are really naive, or a hypocrite. Probably both.

I know I have judged people by what they listen to. It's too hard not to. I've heard a car drive by blaring hardcore rap and the ONLY thing I could think of was "God damn, you'd think he turn the music down when he has three illegitimate children in the car." That's it. I've heard someone blaring emo music and the only thing I could think of was "Hey, it's a lot easier to kill yourself by running your car off a cliff."

We judge people by their actions, and stereotypes are often proven true, and rarely proven false. There are some exceptions though, which do shock you. But generally, stereotypes are correct, because, if they weren't then the stereotype would change to be true. If 90% of emo kids didn't cut themselves or have long hair, then the stereotypical emo kid would be different.

If Gangsta' people didn't have unprotected sex at the age of 13, then there wouldn't be a stereotype of it. It's that simple.

I suppose it just aggravates me to be associated with a specific "group" of people in general, especially because I choose to listen to a certain band. I listen to music that "gangstas" listen to as well as music that "preps" and "goths" and "emos" listen to. If anything, I look like someone who listens to that chilled out indie mellow stuff. I don't act preppy, I don't act tough and gangstaaaa, I don't act like a goth or an emo. It saddens me that music that I consider wonderful is defining who I am to other people. I'm not trying to say that I don't judge people, but I don't personally judge people by their music taste. Far too many times I've met someone I adore who listens to music I consider shitty. I know that everyone in the world hates AFI, but I've been a fan years and I stand strong, although I admit I've been reluctant to tell people I like AFI because of such judgement and automatic untrue assumptions. I often discriminate by style, intelligence, attitude, etc., but honestly, what good does discrimination through music do, especially when many people have very broad tastes in various genres?
