If you could recommend me ONE awesome awesome anime, what would it be? Include in depth details, reasons and explanations, and whatnot.

I have not watched anime in ages.

Also I've always been more keen to the serious stuff. Not a big fan of "slice of life" anime's like Love Hina and whatnot either (unless its Maison Ikkoku).

I don't care how old it may be. I love Robotech, etc.

And maybe nothing crazy like a shonen, it'd be and endless journey for me to watch something that gets around 90 episodes or more.

Yeah, I still have the boxed set of Rahxephon still sealed, after like 3 years.

I just usually play videogames, or listen to metal+browse the web these days I guess.

disgaea too retarded
Look for more info on animenewsnetwork or something.

Full Metal Panic / The Second Raid (it is much more serious than the first one, not as many episodes either)

Black Cat (now that's serious, and it's 23 episode. storyline isn't bad, and looks nice)

Kiba (watched it again yesterday, pretty good, 51 episodes might be a bit long)

Black Blood Brothers (something about vampires, yet with some humor and stuff. Quite an healthy mix. Not really your typical vampire anime. 12 episodes)

Gungrave (absolute <3. seriously, just watch it. 26 episodes. however takes some time to really pick up)

Tsubasa Chronicles (well, it's different from my normal stuff. might be a bit long, with 52 episodes, still ongoing)

Scryed (fun, 26 episodes. by fun, I mean awesome or something.)

I know of more, but it's longgggggggggggggggg stuff.

Ah, Gungrave. I've heard its a really great series, and most of my friends who have seen it say its better than Trigun (same creators I think?). I've had that on my external HD for awhile too, I should start watching it.

Lots of people seem to say Full Metal Panic is great too. So I'll look into that.

Tsubasa Chronicles, I think I've seen an episode or two.

Black Cat does sound interesting.

I don't know if I'll like Scryed. I hated Vandread, but didn't mind Nadesico. I'm just weird with my anime tastes I guess.

Maybe if I watch just one episode of something a day ...

I need to finish Maison and Monster too.

One violent anime that I watched by Yuu Watase. It's Ceres Celestrial Legend. Has a lot of action and violence.

Samurai 7

really it's a masterpiece.

Based off of of the original Seven Samurai, a small village in Japan hires seven samurai to protect them from a group of bandits. However, upon defeating the bandits, the samurai realize that theres a conspiracy against all the villages that runs deep into the capital.

i just finished watching the 26 episode anime and i was amazed.

If you're into samurai, swords, and robots, then this is for you.

The ending's very sad though.

Dang, I remember watching about half of that series a few years ago with one of my friends. I should rewatch it and finish it, it was pretty awesome from what I remember.

I thought I heard the ending was bad, but maybe I'm thinking of Champloo? Or just making stuff up?

The ending is unchanged from the original Seven Samurai. Therefore, if you know what happens in Seven Samurai, expect to be unsurprised in Samurai 7.

Personally, I felt it was a very appropriate ending for the overall tone of the series. It's not a happy one, but I was satisfied.

Berserk.
If there was any anime that is a must see epic, as epic is Akira or Evangelion, this is it.
It's like 300. Only a million times better.

Funny you bring this up, I actually have a lot of the manga on my external from my friend. From what I've seen, heard and whatnot, the manga is even better. I think I read like one volume and loved it, but just forgot about it or something.

Then again I think I hear the anime is good too, just a little different (like Hellsing I guess). But holyshi, is the art amazing. I mean AMAZING.

Also its probably more fun actually reading the manga then big image scans (sucks when you have to scroll around to read it and stuff).

Well, I don't know at which episode, but it really picks up when it's at some kind of party, IMO.

And Berserk is cool.

But dammit, the ending sucked badly (it's obvious there was lots of stuff to say)

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou. In summary, using the full main opening.

In short, if you are looking for something school-related, demon-fighting with magic and stuff, and I think what is well thought-out plotline, give this a whirl.

Hell, there are ZOMBIES in the first episodes (OMFGWTFPWNAGE!) and I just started watching it. (I think it is semi-new.)

Anyways, I've watched FIVE episodes of Gungrave today. I'm about to watch more now, this is crazy! (for me)

Its a bit odd at times, but I like it.

Edit: Episode 12 - Branden's new look WTF?@!$?

On episode 18 ...

11 episodes in a day? I've become a monster! But seriously, wow.

Its too addicting, I'd keep watching but I need to go to bed for work tommorow.

Seriously loving it so far though, but not sure if it beats out Trigun. Though I've always his this little soft spot for Trigun (was one of the first more real anime's I liked besides DBZ I guess).

And as far as I am concerned, who the fuck would judges stuff by appearance/genre? If it's good, it's good. You don't need to go: "Wow, those people are just too cute, they might go: 'Hey, ladies, check what I can do.'" No, they goes: "Hey, ladies, shut the fuck up, I'm trying to work here."

PC load letter? What does the fuck does that mean?

No... Just NO.

If you were addicted to it, you would have fangasm over it like how I did with Fire Emblem. Chances are: you aren't.

Eh, well if you read what I was looking for, I'm not too interested in getting into Shounen's right now for the fact that they always seem to easily go beyond 50 episodes, even surpassing into the hundreds pretty easily. As a more casual anime watcher I just don't know if I could keep my interest for that long, and that's even the case for newer series (like, as awesome as Death Note was I just stopped downloading them and watching them. The delay of waiting for the episodes may have ruined it for me).

I mean I'm not saying that anime looks dumb or anything, and it is unfair to judge it just by that video, but still ...
