| Alarath shook his head. Water and heights, his two worst things combined into one unhappy package.
He looked around, almost everyone else had made the jump, and he needed to go. He shook his head irritably, closed his eyes, ran, and jumped off the cliff, arms extended as he tried to dive. He suddenly felt a blinding pain all over his body. He had never dived before, and apparently the possibility of a dive was still in the future. He swam forwards, his chest aching with the pain of landing in the water from twenty feet up. He reached the edge, pulled himself up, and sat down. "I've never figured out why so many people like water," he said. "It hydrates me, but no more than a glass of it should be in one place at the time." He hoped that was their last lake, he couldn't make that jump again. |

| Alexis stared down into the water that stood before them, rippling with the wind that blew past her face. She was feeling much better now; good enough for a swim, even, she thought.
"Great! I love swimming. Use to dive into shit like this all the time. Alright!" With that, she took a running jump off the exit from the waterway, and dove, arms extended in front of her head, much like a professional diver. She entered the water making the smallest amount of splash out of all of her team mates so far, and gracefully rose to the surface, her wet hair behind her, the sunlight glistening off her hair. She was beautiful in the water. |

| Ken was laying on his back, enjoying the feel of the sun from inside his drenched white t-shirt and dark blue pants. He wasn't cold, as Fire Totems could never really freeze, but he let the natural temperature take over his body. He felt...at peace, which surprised him, as he rose and watched these new friends jump from the height into the water. He felt some attachment to them all, even though he had only known known most of them for a few moments.
He saw Alexis rise out of the water and he was momentarily taken aback. She was really, really pretty, he noticed, and he remembered that ever since he joined Red Eye a few years ago he hadn't been in a single relationship. Women had hit on him, but he had been far too busy for love, or so it had seemed at the time. His sky pirate days visited him once more, as back then women had always looking to spend time with him. He shook his head, realizing that he had probably been staring at Alexis. It had been a while since he'd been dating, despite his natural good looks, and he knew he'd be traveling with her for probably quite some time, so he didn't want to make anything awkward. But deep inside he wanted to say something, so he smiled at Alexis as she rose, and kept the compliments in his head. |

| She saw him looking at her. Away from the lake where everyone cooled off, there he laid, gazing contemplatively at her. With decision in her actions, she quietly left the lake as to not be noticed, and sat down next to Ken, her wet hair tight against her back.
"Hey, Ken. I just... I wanted to thank you for... for taking me away from that awful city. It was time for me to go anyway. You also saved my life. I can't repay you enough, pal," she said to him quietly, thoughtfully. She thought for a moment, then smiled. *He deserves it, what the hell." She then bent down and pressed her lips against his in an open mouthed kiss, in all probability, taking him totally off guard. |

| Vincent stepped off the edge, falling swiftly to the water. His feet gracefully touched the surface of the water and supported his weight with no splash whatsoever. He swiftly crossed the lake and stood several feet away from the two who just kissed. Ken should have noticed something in his left hand that wasn't there before. A single red rose. Vincent prided himself on being a matchmaker of sorts. This was a simple gesture, but one that would mean a lot to most females. Vincent turned to the others, noting that most hated the water and normally would avoid it at all costs. | |||

| Ken was taken aback, to be sure, and for a moment he relished the sensation of a kiss, something he had been missing for a long time. But then, after naught but a moment, he pulled away, the image of the child in his mind again. He took a step up, and his eyes were filled with a fearful passion.
"No, I'm sorry...but I can't." He felt really low for denying her this, but he felt he had to be impartial. If he was to learn how to protect them, he had to stay impartial. Despite his best wishes. Without letting her see, he pocketed the rose for later and turned towards the Badlands. An ill wind emanating from the cliff sides kept his mind off what had just happened. |

| Rei dipped into the water. He had always loved swimming in the lake near the forest cabin that he had shared with his mother, but he hadn't had a chance in years since it was discovered by the inhabitants of a nearby village.
"Yes, I believe it is," he replied to Avendia, "I've never actually seen another Terran do it before. I think that they have the ability to encase themselves in the stone, but they don't have the power to animate it." |

| Vincent well noted the reaction of Ken, and then the reaction of Alexis. He gently placed a hand upon Alexia's shoulder and turned her away from Ken. He leaned forward a little and whispered into her ear.
"I am sorry miss, but it seems Ken is trying to keep his emotions out of this. You shouldn't feel dejected, he is a bit off his game as well. He is trying to break away from Red-Eye training, the necessity to be cold and emotionless is a tough habit to break, and a suffering which ails all of us into a collective loneliness." Vincent smiled warmly. He held the eyes of a murderer, but none of the other hardened features. He was becoming free, realizing this freedom and relishing in it. Ken was always his superior, but one of the few who believed Vincent had potential. Ken was also a natural leader, attracting people to his attention, bringing them closer to him. He gives them something to fight for. But though he walks among them, he is so very, very alone. Vincent shook the thought from his mind, the cruelty of Ken's situation is too much. A man unable to enjoy the finer things in life, and always looking behind him. |

| Ken was standing alone, watching the wind blow across the plains. Memories that had been dormant for years were rising to the surface, but the newest one, stained with the taint of blood, was visiting him constantly.
He had been sent to go check on a member of Red Eye, who had been sent to assassinate a target. He went to the residence to find the member having accomplished the job, but going the extra mile and killing everyone in the house. Ken was disturbed thoroughly by this, being scarred by a young boy, glassy eyes open. That was the beginning. Ken had dashed through the city, searching for the killer. The agent known as Shadow was responsible. He found the agent on a building top, stalking the innocent. With no other thought in his mind but the image of the dead boy, he attacked with a fury unprecedented. Ken had massacred him, sending enough volts through him to overkill anyone. And after Ken was done, he was deemed a traitor for killing an innocent teammate. Instead of fighting back for his position, which he could have accepted, he took on the title and vowed to end the organization. But he would never forgive himself for allowing the innocent child to be harmed. Despite the renown he had gained in Red Eye, he was never evil. He had been cold, yes, and had killed those deemed wicked, but it had been...too much. Too much for him. Ken's eyes were tearing as he fell to his knees, seeing the lifeless eyes of the boy and the dried tears. Sparks were flying about him, but no fire, despite the inner torment, would ignite. However, it was not safe to be near him. The air about him was hundreds of degrees above room temperature. He would not be harmed by it, but the grass about him turned brown. His clothes were fireproof, as was his body, so besides the waves of air, the sparks, and the wilting grass, he just looked to be crying. His only regret of leaving his original life, long before Red Eye, before sky piracy, had been his family. Though only his mother had been affectionate, and his father cold and distant, they had been the reason he strived to be better. To be the best Terran warrior in the world, and eventually return to them to make them proud. He might not be able to conjure flames, he might not be the Ametsuchi he had been prophesied to be, but with his hands he would claim that title. Ken rose and faced the two, the air about him calming down. Ken was calming down, but his eyes were tearing still, and his fist was clenched the entire time. He was considering telling these two what he wanted to share with them. But he could not yet tell them. So he could only share with them the reason he left Red Eye. "I stared into the eyes of a dead child, ones that the laws I abided to said were brought about justly. I never knew the boy, but I avenged him. All I have managed to do so far is kill a psychopath and be hunted for it. I can't live with myself until the laws that could have justified such a thing are destroyed, and those who wrote them pay." |

| Rei walked up the shore, the water cascading over his broad shoulders. He stood on the sand, and used Terramorphus to pull the water from his body.
"I never really thought in depth of how I do it. I just pull the stone over me," As he said this, the sand around his feet surged up his legs, covering all of his body except for his head, and solidified to form hard stone. ", and I just sort of relax, letting the armor settle onto me, and it just... moves with me." There was a slight grinding sound as the stone came to life, moving with Rei as he walked. "And that's all there is to it." |

| "Ken, what you did was right. You've accomplished more than you give yourself credit. You have given me the ability to express my resentment as well, you have allowed all of these people to escape the terror of Red-Eye. You alone have brought about a revolution."
Vincent's face suddenly began to show an inner rage. "I will not allow you to doubt yourself, not after what we've done, not after what we've been through. We will make Red-Eye pay, they will pay in their blood. And soon enough, we will live in a world of peace, free of Red-Eye. Free of their tyrannous reign." |

| Alarath shook his head as they kept talking about Red Eye and its evils. "If you really want to kill Red Eye," he asked. "Why is it that you easily repair buildings that are supposed to detect people's IDs, rahter than going for the source?" He looked at Vincent. "Just destroy their barracks or their leader. What you're doing right now is nothing more than terrorism, and it will continue to be that way until you actually get an army and do something important!"
He wasn't even entirely sure he hated Red Eye yet, he was sure that they had their reasons for what they did. |

| "Alarath, we attacked all we could. That building was the most effective to destroy, as it held all of their communications information. It will take them months, maybe even years to be at a position of supremacy again. This weakened them greatly. And you say to attack their barracks and get their leader in one fell swoop. My friend, that would be impossible. The communications center of Red-Eye is the only localized station in which there were many, many members of Red-Eye located. Normally, they are spread about the worlds, doing their tasks. The leader, a man of insurmountable power, is stationed in an undisclosed location. He only speaks to members of Red-Eye via communicator, he does not allow anyone other than his top agents to know of his location, and getting in to see him would be nigh impossible."
Vincent then took into account what Avendia said. "Miss, we are safe for the moment, though I agree with you and say that this precious time of safety should not be squandered. A little bit of rest will do no harm." |

| "The only way we could just topple Red Eye in one move is to find Kyo and Gadget. Those two have their own separate base that even I have no guess as to its location. Red Eye is organized into ranks, and those two are General Rank, the highest. I am of Noble Rank, the second highest. After Noble Rank is Captain, Lieutenant, and then Private. Vincent was from lieutenant rank, essentially the lowest rank a single unit can have. Private ranks are the robots and the Special Forces that Red Eye controls."
Kenneth was thinking for a moment, trying to find words that best fit what he was thinking. "My first action when we reach Ha Even will be to ask my friend Marquis, a senator in the Oridian Congress, to begin gathering troops with me. I have no desire to overthrow the government, for it is a fair one, but Red Eye is corrupt, and it alone must be punished. In fact, if we were to tell the Senate of what Red Eye's true purpose is, to remove the enemies of Gerrick Masterson, beloved general, senator, and aspirant for more power, they would certainly lose favor with him. Marquis will come to my aid with this, for that I am sure. But, if rumors passed amongst the ranks are true, then we must act quickly. We had been briefed a few days ago on the possibility of a full-scale operation utilizing every field operative Red Eye had. A movement that massive could only be for one thing: Masterson seeks to overthrow the government and install his own regime. Red Eye would gain power and be free to operate in the open, and the repercussions would send Terra and Orid both into a dictatorship. The Animus and Terrans would be enslaved, and the liberties of every citizen would be destroyed. That shall not happen while I breathe and stand." |

| "Tis a sore subject for us all. The imprisonment of others, especially when it is we who will be thrown out in chains should we fail." Vincent lowered his head, some chains cannot be broken by normal means. "What Ken says is true, I was the lowest ranked single unit in Red-Eye. They failed to see my potential as a Jack-Of-All-Trades and gave promotions to those who were specialists. All failed to see what I could do, besides Ken...Kyo should be the most difficult to fight, being that his is the un-proclaimed leader Red-Eye, Gadget will be tough as he always has an army at his side. I am not sure how things will turn out, but we must cripple Red-Eye, and soon."
Vincent flicked his hand and a coin was sitting in it, he began flipping the coin along his knuckles and flicking it into the air. Looking for some entertainment amidst the recent boredom. |
