Yup...a thread about the ironic things in life. So, go on and tell about all the little ironic things you guys experience from time to time.

One of the most recent things happened just yesterday...the stairs in my house have no rugs, so you can see the wood and stuff. Well, the second to the bottom one caved in just yesterday. There were no real signs, like the thing wasn't creaking or anything beforehand, it didn't feel like it was denting in or anything...and they've been the way they are now since I could remember.

However, it just randomly caved in yesterday. The ironic thing? It caved in on ME. I didn't get hurt or anything, I jumped off soon as I felt it give. Two of my older sisters saw the whole thing and just started laughing their asses off. I'm one of the tiniest in the house and it happened to me of all people.

So yeah, nothing big or uber funny about that...but...Xeios would prolly understand more since he's seen most of my family and all the people that live in my house...its just ironic that it happened to me and not anyone else.

Wow, well at least you didn't get hurt Katana.

My ironic experience happened just this Saturday. Actually started a day or two before. GuardianOni and I were talking and I was saying how I didn't want to go into to work, and he tells me I should call in the morning, saying I woke up throwing up and can't go into work. I said I probably would, but wasn't sure yet. Saturday morning, around 3 AM, I wake up, throwing up and end up calling into work sick.

Yeah, my stomach calmed down after a while. But still, not fun.

Another ironic moment for me, so as to keep my post relevant. Won't go into much detail on this one, but until recently, my mom believe I was still virgin, which I haven't been for a while now. Well she finally confronts me on day, saying she found evidence about me having sex and not know what to do, I admit it and she gets pissed off. The irony? The evidence she found was not at all connected to me having sex.

That was probably not meant to be irony, just a very clever trick of your mother's to get you to admit it.

Unfortunately I can't recall any events that seem ironic... Even though after being told what it means loads of times I still don't fully understand how to use it...

Sounds like my experience when my mom confronted me. It's not really ironic, but I'll give it a shot.

My mom approached me about being sexually active one day and being that I can't lie to my mother I admitted it. Her reason for asking? My dad's homophobic asshole friend (whom I already despised) planted the thought in their heads because 1) he likes to speculate about things that aren't his business and put very negative spins on everything, 2) no one can have any sort of fun around him, and 3) the night before my mom came to ask me, Zoso and I were laying on my bed tickling each other and laughing and whatnot and that was when my dad's friend claimed he heard us going at it.

While I thought that was awkward enough, it was later when my dad yelled, "What are you doing to keep from getting pregnant?" across the table one night at a crowded (yet quiet) restaurant that the embarrassment of the situation was fully realized.

I'll post much more ironic things when I remember some and have the time.

Ironic moment that just occurred right now to my friend. We're talking online and he is looking at shirt at T-shirt Hell, sending me links of the one's he likes and we joke around about them and so on. He sends me a link to one, telling me that his resolution is bad on his computer and he can't read what it says. So I look at it and it's the shirt that has a circle of green dots and inside it, written in orange dots, says "Fuck the Color Blind." The irony, my friend is color blind.

Xeios is slightly color blind... :p But that's...funny.

K, so I don't spam in the thread...XD

I wake up this morning to the sound of my brother-in-law, step-dad, and some of my brother's friends trying to fix crap in the basement. They're down there cursing and banging things around out of anger because nothing they did went right. I don't know exactly what they were trying to do. I was sitting in my diningroom (which is where the enterance to the basement is as well) and one of my niece just casually walks down to the basement. This is my niece Cara, she's one of the older ones, but still, she's 11 and 100% girly girl. So, I hear them trying to tell her to go back upstairs. I didn't see what happened, all I know is I heard something click together, and up comes Cara, just as casually as before and she just goes back to what she was doing before.

Few minutes go by and it's still silent in the basement. Then I hear my brother's friend. "Shit...how'd she do that?" So...my 11 year old niece just went down, one shot, and fixed something the guys had been working on for a while. XD

Double post...but something new. :p

So..I had my film class for the first time today. It's once a week, but three hours, so we can do a lot. Well...we watched the opening clip of "Citizen Kane", some Madonna music video, and a scene from another movie "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner"...Well, in the first two, Kane and Madonna, snow was a key part...well, it was symbolic and we spent some time discussing it. Just last night I was bitching about how I didn't really care for snow, with some exceptions that were stated in Rogue's birthday thread. Hell, in Rogue's birthday thread I kinda bitched about snow...

I didn't listen to the weather report before I left for school. I went in the building, no signs of snow. Came out, there were fricken flurries and some snow on the trees and grass.

So my college sponsored a Black History Month event hosted by the House of Blues--a blues band playing negro spirituals and popular blues/jazz favorites--that went on today in the student union.

I just got back from it. The whole band was white and they were over-pepped exaggerated-Disney cast-like people ala Getting Gay With Kids. They were up there ranting about the struggles of the black man and slavery and such.

While it's cool that someone of a race that isn't black is standing up there giving a talk between songs on such things, it was so ridiculous, my friend and I were having trouble walking out of there without laughing our asses off. Incidentally that friend is black.

Another log to this fire: Since it's March 1, it is no longer Black History Month.

I decide i want to change the three high strings of my guitar, seeing as how they are the most delicate. I go to the store and buy three special packs of strings that only contain specific strings. I get back home and change the string and tune accordingly. After doing all this, i'm pretty happy so i plug in my guitar and start playing. Five minutes into playing, my string breaks. It was the thickest one. I had gone to the store to only buy the three upper strings and i didn't have any replacements for the lowest string.

That's just careless, one's always supposed to have a full set of replacement strings.

Logos, at least add to the discussion.

I just spent all weekend reading an article for my theory class, took notes in the margins and everything. I'm usually behind in this class or I don't take the notes, or something. So I was all happy that I got everything done in time... class was cancled for the day because the teacher had some kind of medical appointment. That was Tuesday.

Perhaps, but it's still ironic.

Perhaps, but it's still ironic.

It's tragic. And it hurts so much. Even if one does have a set of replacements. Especially if it's a nice string.
(Yeah, the C string on my cello broke. T_T)
