| My perception of myself is very abstract, like knowing what my face looks like without having seen my reflection. I mean, I could argue that I'm completely different from who I was when the board started and, at the same time, I don't think I've really changed at all.
I know I've learned a lot, gone to all sorts of places, seen all kinds of new things, and I've graduated from college. Well, I'm definitely heavier. That's for certain. After we found out Dad was severely diabetic on my birthday in 2007, I went nuts with eating, sort of as an I-know-I-shouldn't-be-doing-this-but-for-some-reason-I'm-REALLY-compelled-to-do-it deal. |

| I'm not sure what I do these days that surprises anybody. Maybe a couple weeks ago when Brandon and I were driving around with the radio on and Kid Rock's "Cowboy" came on and I knew all the words. Brandon seemed shocked.
OK, I just asked Brandon what I've done that's surprised him and he said, "Approved of checking out Grown-ups from the library."

| Yeah, I'm just saying what others thought about it. I haven't seen it, so I haven't formed my own opinion. :/
They've gotten pretty pissed about other things in the past. They went after Sarah Silverman for saying "chinks" on Conan. It was meant in irony, but, well, with it being said on network television, anyone could have seen it and thus it was thoroughly condemned by this group to the point that she went on Politically Incorrect to defend herself and cry about the appearance, and then the president of the organization dragged her back onto that show to chew her out on television. Being half-Asian myself, I believed in a lot of what they stood for, but I felt very hesitant on many of the stances they took (Sarah Silverman being one of them). I'm watching Tron Legacy again. | I find myself concentrating more on walking straight and realize that falling is way too fun when I go to sit down. I've only reached that point a handful of times in my life.

| I've been playing a lot online pool lately... through Gaia. But it's actually fun and the people I play with aren't immature assholes. Excluding the kid who kept writing "yu suk" and "fuc k u" in the chat when I kept beating him (Gaia monitors the chats for swearing), everyone else is really nice, polite, and good sports.
Otherwise editing photos I haven't gotten to from trips this past year and other things we've gone to. But here's how bored and lazy I am. I got FREE tickets to see this band I like on the Sunset Strip, at the the Key Club, and I'd rather sit at home and do nothing tonight. Seriously. My lethargy has reached critical mass. It's funny, just yesterday I finally pulled this can of Thai ice tea I bought at one of the Asian markets near my house. For some reason I've always remembered feeling like I'd bought it last month or something, but the stuff expired in 2009. Man, time really does fly. Are there any movie sequels that you love more than the first in its line, and if so what are they? |

| Sounds like it might be autism. My mom works with people who have different mental disorders as their job coach and many of the austic folks are SUPER friendly. Like when we went to the Special Olympics to watch one of them, he dropped what he was doing and then ran to my mom to hug her, and when she introduced me as her daughter, he grabbed me and started kissing me all over. Nice guy. Since then he brags to the other workers that he knows me personally.
Well, so long as you don't get too friendly back, you should be all right, I guess. I'm unemployed (well, none of my jobs actually pay regularly), but at least it's by choice, in a sense. With this upcoming trip, it'd be a bitch to ask for time off. Thankfully my parents have stopped pressing the matter. Well, back to reading Lee's manuscript... and being ridiculously lazy. |

| Fuck you, hanger-on "friend" who is quite possibly the most obnoxious person with whom I've ever been personally acquainted. I only hang out with you because I feel sorry for you all the time.
This all started a year ago when your best friend said she didn't want to be around you any more and your relationship was constantly off-and-on the rocks, so I invited you to concerts, restaurant openings, and festivals to cheer you up. I had to hold you through a show because you kept thinking your boyfriend was going to dump you and you threatened to kill yourself. Now, you fucking parasite, you're inviting yourself to everything I click that I'm attending on Facebook and you show up at my house unannounced when you know I've got plans with other people. And possibly, even more annoyingly, you play this "Whoops, I don't have cash" card and I end up paying for you all the fucking time when you HAVE money and I DON'T. Fuck that you yammer on about nonsense all the time when no one is listening to you, and fuck how full of shit you are discussing topics you obviously know nothing about. Fuck how you will always flip flop on your opinions in a hot second because you always want to please. Fuck that you're always calling me to hang out with you and I keep thinking it'll be better this time and it NEVER is. I always come out of it pissed off when you're finally gone, which won't be until 3 in the morning despite all of the hints that I'd like you to leave so I can at least go to sleep. Fuck that you're pissing off my friends, whom you friended on Facebook, because you're persistently trying to get them to hire your unable-to-keep-a-job-for-more-than-a-couple-days ass and they keep telling you they don't want to hire friends. I literally found myself apologizing on your behalf to these people. Fuck that you keep trying to connive my boyfriend and me into "double-dating" with you and your also bipolar boyfriend who thinks he's the shit because he has an apartment in L.A. and drives a BMW. Fuck that he always wants us to go out for expensive meals and barhop all the time, and fuck that you guys are actually trying to put on this show of being a sickeningly sweet couple, but who always seem to fight, especially about your having him pay for everything and you getting upset that he gets irked having to do so. Furthermore, fuck that you have this mutant self-esteem where you talk about how hot you think you are half the time, and you assume that everyone's checking you out the rest of the time. You're a balding, 30-something-year old, overweight woman. I suppose it's nice to like the way you look, but fucking shut up. Fuck how pissed off I am right now about your behavior last night, you fucking pig woman. And lastly, FUCK ME for not knowing how to say any of these things to you because I'm afraid you've completely lost it and would actually kill yourself if I even slightly rejected you. Fuck that I would say these things to you, but can't find the courage or the will to do it because, honestly, I know that you would just turn around and do nothing about it except for bitch about me on Facebook in front of our mutual friends. | I haven't seen all of them (and damn I should really pick up Nausicaa. I keep seeing it at the library and passing it up), but my absolute favorite for inexplicable reasons is Princess Mononoke. I mean, I look back on it and I could see others being more poignant or artistic, but for some reason I've just always dug it.

Yeah, I ended up going out with friends last night to play Apples to Apples (sort of a board game, but it's all cards) at a diner. I ended up pissed off because I ordered nachos for my boyfriend and myself and he ended up not getting any while the other friends, ate most of the platter without putting in any money. Yep. I'm so broke and bored, I'm angry about spending $15 at a place I didn't want to go in the first place. I'm getting old. My trip can't come fast enough. |

| A friend of mine calls Long Beach the biggest small town. It's really common to bump into people on the street and just remember them from some place.
Anyway, this was uttered by said-friend after finding an acquaintance passed out drunk on the sidewalk with strangers laying next to her and taking pictures with her unconscious body. They scattered as we came closer, and we ended up taking her home. After which I never saw her again. Amusingly enough, THAT wasn't my "Huh, small world" moment that night. See, we were leaving a show for a music group I like and when someone gave up their seat for me, the guy I sat next to and I got to talking and discovered we were both in the same Rocky Horror cast, at different times. We knew all the same people from there and went to many of the same conventions and just never met before that. But, hey, I can go further than that. While asking a passer-by to take pictures of my roommates and I in front of a statue in Paris, the guy takes our picture and we notice he doesn't have an accent. "Where you from?" we ask. And he goes, "Long Beach, California." Good stuff. |
